Thank you. I love my fig leaf trees. They are baminos . Got 2 for Mother's Day last year and now repoting. I named them after abbreviations of my 2 adult children. I needed to know all of this. I found your video and THANKS. Your plant is beautiful. I wish the best to you for it's next growth and development. 😊

Beautiful tree. If you wanted to keep the original pot you could have shaken off much of the soil and reused the pot.

Hi Sally, I must say I did strain my shoulder a bit lifting it but my shoulder has been so sore since getting my jab anyway....! It looks so much happier now though haha! Have a great weekend lovely xo

@thatfoliagelife I was wondering how the notches worked out for your Fiddle Leaf Fig? I just repotted mine using your video. It looks great but I'm wondering if I should try to notch. I tried notching with 1 notch 1 time and it didn't work. Also, my stalk/trunk isn't very wide so I'm worried about weakening it. Many thanks for your help!

Hi Maxine, haha it's the chef arms lol I've worked in hospitality for about 13 years now, so lots of intense arm work there 😬 I'm eager to see how the notching goes. I have recently started pinching my ficuses as well, and have found some success with that...I'll talk about that in a future video. :)

Shaking the plant can damage the root hairs! So don’t shake! To grow strong stems plant needs Nitrogen. Phosphorus is primarily responsible for growth and strong stems and nutrient uptake. Calcium plays a big role in cell wall formation and building strong stems-like for our bones. So use a good fertilizer like Dyna Gro Foliage Pro. It has these components I mentioned along with 16 extra vitamins. No need to shake your plant and cause damage to root hairs when you can just give it a good fertilizer and sunlight!

Is it adviseable to split group of 6 fidle figs into smaller group, like group of 2-3 to each pot? Will it hurt the root if we split them apart? Thanks, Judie!

Hi Sheila! It's sitting in an East facing window, about 3 hours of bright morning sunlight and bright indirect light all day long. :) As long as your fiddle gets a lot of light, it should be happy. It's a bit of trial and error too sometimes with these plants.

what size pot did you use for repotting?

From what I’ve learned about repotting you need to go up 2-3 inches in diameter than the size it’s currently in. Her pot looked way to large. If you go too large, it takes longer for the soil to dry out and root rot can set in.
