Can that be done at any of the lithops live cycle? I’m going to receive my plants now and it is the end of May. Will it be safe to have roots trimmed now?
@lazyphusy527
@lazyphusy527 3 года назад
If you do it in the house I think any month is ok. Lithops likes light. If it’s in the low light so it will tall. But not too hot.

Such helpful video, thanks. Can I ask, what kind of plant fungicide are you using (name, brand)?

During this 2 weeks do we need to water regularly?
@lazyphusy527
@lazyphusy527 3 года назад
If you see that the water is dry, you can water it, but if the water doesn't cut down, you don't need to add water.

Why do this? Is there a correlation between forcing new root growth and plant health? You could force any plant to grow new roots by trimming its root system ... doesn't mean the plant will benefit from it, though. What's the purpose here?
@heathermiller76
@heathermiller76 2 года назад
because unlike many other plants, these go dormant and will eventually die if you don't. they can go dormant and never wake up, especially after shipping or repotting.....

If i dont have fungicide and just use regular water will that work?
@lazyphusy527

I'm sorry, I'm not sure.
@iRisRedshoes
@iRisRedshoes 3 года назад
i think if you want to use regular water, after cut needs to wait maybe one day to let the wound dry then plant in the moist soil or if you plant in right away. don't water till the next day, same thing. without fungicide just needs a longer time, but that prob no point to do this. just plant directly.

Cut the roots for stimulate new roots. Root cuttings have a greater chance of forming new roots.

absolutely not.... most plant them far too deep and cut off their ability to photosynthesize or make it much, much harder
