I recently purchased a 2004 Camry with a broken fob. I bought a couple of fobs on eBay for $40 the pair and then followed your instructions. No specific security light went on but I went ahead and assumed it was activated and pressed the fob. It worked! I then followed with quick succession the second. Both indicators did flash. I had to do the process twice because I had three door unlocked and one locked. Just need to make sure all doors are unlocked and then press the unlock button on the new fob. It then activated for the three button configuration. Lock, unlock and boot. Super big thanks to you!!
Absolute madlad. Every other piece of info I could find on this must relate to the left hand drive models, from finding the key receiver and pressing button to cycling the lock and door countless times, then boom 3 key turns and done. Thanks!
would like to add to this that according to the manual you can also use this process (sec light on) to turn the horn beep on and off by tapping the horn (this will cycle the locks to confirm) and by pressing the unlock button on the dash, this will set it to dual stage locking (first unlocks only driver, then all doors)
Thank you Sir your a true gentleman just fixed my daughters car because of you. And you went through the instructions nice and slow did not have to replay over again. Good stuff. Cheers Steven
To program 2 or more remotes you need to quickly press the buttons on each remote before the security light turns off. Do not hold the remote button down because that will just write to the same remote 4 times over. You can program up to 4 remotes. You have to do them all quickly before the security light turns off because it forgets all other codes each time you do the process.
I have same model, battery in fob was dead. I managed to open it and change battery. But car does not reckognize the fob. When holding the button simply nothing happens. Its a tough one, intrent did not help.
Anybody knows where to get a new remote? Originals are around $85 and I am just curious if there is any cheaper option online or around melbourne Thanks
