In England, where it's usually too cold for many exotics, we tend to use ceramic heat emitters or deep heat projectors to warm the entire enclosure and create a gradient - otherwise the whole room should be heated because as you say, anywhere other than the heat mat is too cold. That might be an option for Bowie? 😊 just a thought 😁 Ambient temps can be difficult!

I don't think taking a cool hide away is ever a good idea. You should make sure the cool side just doesn't get too cool. Maybe with a CHE? There's cages for it so she can't touch it. Also paper towel because dirt is dirty is a very weird logic imo. Natural substrate is always better imo. Also gives enrichment and helps with humidity levels. 😊 Not trying to bash at all its just unfortunate that she can't Thermo regulate and feel save at the same time. Don't force them, she will move to a warm hide if she's too cold. 😘 Anyway, I love these videos so thanks for making it!

You can use serpwidgets.com/main/measure to measure your snakes. Just take a pic of them with a ruler and then you trace their spine in the tool.
