Republicans want to raise the retirement age. 

The increasing prices have impacted my plan to retire at 62, work part-time, and save for the future. I'm concerned about whether those who navigated the 2008 financial crisis had an easier time than I am currently experiencing. The combination of stock market volatility and a decrease in income is causing anxiety about whether I'll have sufficient funds for retirement.

It's recommended to save at least 20% of your income in a 401k. Sonya Lee Mitchell taught me to estimate how much you should save based on your age and income. I've been with her for years now and her decades of experience in the markets translate to chunks of value in so may ways! She has upscaled my portffolio and even got me reading self help books haha

Social Security was set up during FDR’s tenure when the average American only lived till about 67 years old so retirement at 62 wasn’t that long. Maxing out Social Security tax as low as it is, is the problem as Bernie states. Someone making $1 million plus only paying the same as someone making $168k is crazy. They don’t have to go crazy with it but a steady increase isn’t wrong either

If the cap on Social Security taxes were removed, SS would be solvent forever.

Higher retirement age means there'll be more people needing help with kinds of burn-out and other disabilities. Republicans don't know enough of practical human needs and the dark side of their proposal will further destroy the working class.

While the government sits behind a desk and does nothing but over pay themselves while stealing from the American people. When is the American people going to come together and take a stand?

And most of us can’t even work to our official age (for full benefits - for me, 66 yr 4 mo). I’ve lost so many friends and cousins in their 50’s and 60’s to cancer and heart disease. One died two weeks after retiring - he was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia as soon as he retired. It’s the rare person who can make it to 72 or whenever they say you should delay taking benefits.

They want you to be a slave until your deathbed. Sheer evil! Heartless beyond words!

People dont understand that the prices of things are never going back down. This inflation is deeper than we think. Those buying groceries are well aware that the real inflation is much over 10%. The increments dont match our income, yet certain investors still earn over $365,000 in stocks and assets. Wish I could accomplish that.
