This girl was unique not a cookie cutter pop star or traditional R/B. I found her music on the island of Mykonos 20 yrs ago… pre-pretentious days there… just clubs with great music Res, Terrance TD, and so many that were so special… not typical US… well I prefer the beautiful memories … and RES we loved you then and now! Still listening.
This song kicks ass. I was on the phone with United, trying to buy a ticket to Amsterdam, and they put me on hold for a couple minutes. This song came on, and I was instantly in love with it. Who would've thought that hold music would ever be this cool? The ticket agent came back on, and I asked her to put me back on hold!
I recall her singing this one live on some show in 2001 and I couldn't believe how amazing she was. I played this CD so many times I can't give you a number.
I found it on a Tower Records listening station the week it came out and spread it to at least 3 other people. There is not a bad track on that album. It has held up. It's like the album was so perfect it's almost like our not getting a follow up album could be taken as she dropped the mic. It should've done way better sales wise. Sheer perfection.
