A dog alerts the mother when a baby stops breathing. (Note: I don't know the actual title of this segment; 'Lassie saves baby' is just a description). This segment was taken from Episode 626 which aired March 28, 1996 on CBS.
When my aunt was pregnant with my cousin, they had a dog. She hadn’t been feeling well but thought she was fine but her dog wouldn’t stop barking. My uncle finally decided to take her to the hospital. Turns out that my cousin was very sick and his heart rate was dropping so they induced labor. The dog saved his life. My cousin was premature and had problems after that but is perfect now.
Very smart dog the paramedics deserve alot of credit their time and efforts are deeply appreciated thanks to everyone who responds keep them safe out there job well done you should be proud even on rescue 911your show rocks thanks ! Joe
My dogs a collie German shepherd husky mix very protective very playful loads of energy strong enough to pull a 140 pound guy on a 10 pound sled at 10 mph but very friendly unless she determines that your a threat (which has only happened twice)
Collies are good protectors. My mom had a collie who actually saved her from being date-raped. Guy had asked to come up to her place. She said no but he said it wasn't like that; he "had to use the bathroom." When they got up to her place he smiled and said "Well, you didn't think I really had to use the bathroom did you?" As he was about to grab at her the collie came in-between, growling and snarling and just waiting for this dude to give him an excuse to tear him apart. Even when my mom started dating my dad, her collie would growl a little if my dad got too close or put his arm around her.
my daughter had obstructive apnea and her heart and breathing would stop, awake or asleep, she'd need stimulating to get going again, I never slept until I decided to get a little Maltese x, the dog just started without training, to nudge her to get her heart & breathing going again, like it was the most natural thing in the world. she was my hero and I could actually sleep again,my daughter survived (DR's told me she would not) and she now has kids of her own, animals are amazing
This story makes me wonder: how many babies have died (from SIDS, fires, drownings, abductors etc.) who could have lived if a dog was there to alert and/or protect or go for help? I think animals need to play a much bigger role in our lives than they currently do.
@@rudyishoggin Please, don't listen to the liars who bad-mouth God by placing _their_ terrible deeds in such a way that it appears that it's God's fault.
My Yorkie has been protecting my son since before I even knew I was pregnant lol. He started being so attached and then when I had my son they immediately became best friends. He’s 13 months old now and they run around and play 24/7. The Yorkie also checks on him all night when he’s asleep or taking a nap and if he starts crying or anything he runs to checks on him. He even watches him take a bath to make sure he’s okay. He’s gotten mad at me and my mom bc we were tickling him and he thought we were hurting him. I always feel good having him around bc animals have crazy senses and have true unconditional love
I hate that word get rid ,its like having a child and disposing of it like rubbish . He gives love and loyalty and gets treated as a nuiscance until he shows his true worth .Great story.
@@AlfieLassie1945 I hate when people get rid of their dogs over eating furniture or stupid crap like that I mean maybe if the dog had done something harmful but he hadn't and yes I know sometimes there are signs of aggression but I do not think that is the case in most of those cases
@@meghanmcclamma1662 Was. Sad to say long ago as this was and the fact that he was already ten he went over that rainbow bridge. ;w; Rest easy faithful pupper.
It's a good thing they didn't get rid of Lassie, he saved that baby's life. In the show, they had several Lassie's, after each one passed on. One of them was a male, even though Timmy called her 'girl'.
dogs are for life, you don't just get a dog and get rid of it because it does things you don't like. My dog pees in the house everyday. I deal with it. Never considered getting rid of her. Dogs are family and should be treated like it no matter what they do.
Thank goodness that the cute little girl was able to breath I starting worried and scared that the baby would've died I'm thanking this dog for that incredible rescue he did the right thing to do.
That dog was sent from heaven to rescue the little baby because my son saved my life also and my son have autism my son knew what to do when emergency occur thank you God for sending my son and that dog to help people thank you
dogs can snese things human cannot i am so lucky and blessed too have my small red terrier he keeps me calm from my PTSD and he also helps with my depression and biolar people should recoginze animals need us yes but we also need them!
Dogs are amazing , they have such instincts that something is wrong.......To let you know if someone is breaking in as well. During nite hours, when everyone is asleep. Had a hot dog, he woke me , and sure enough, a guy tried to brake in. I flipped on a light by the front door, and sure enough. Oh my God, there he was, the light caused him to run off. My dog to me was a hero, he passed on after 13 years, I will always remember the Hero that He Was..........Dogs are just Great! They are so smart..........
First, let me say my condolences on the loss of your daughter and of Pappi. I just viewed your video. I have three collies, two blue, one sable and a samoyed. Dogs are amazing!
When my son was 13 a mountain lion came after him in the back yard. Our three dogs charged the lion and ran her off the property, saving my son's life. Dogs are wonderful.
Wow, that’s incredible. My husband had something similar happen to him once when he was a baby. He was about a year old and his mother was pushing him in the stroller while walking their dog Finney. Some other big dog suddenly came out of nowhere and was about to have a go at them. Apparently Finney fought back against this dog who was a good bit bigger than him, which helped protect both my husband and his mother. He probably saved their lives that day. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
That’s for sure dogs are not stupid my dad used to be a deputy and he got a pair of boots from his friend at work but our lab Abby for whatever reason did not like those boots my dad did everything you could think of to clean them and to let them air out My dad ended up throwing them away because she would not let those boots in the house
yep sounds like my cat Oliver when I was sick he be in my lap or sleeping on me but he had to be put to sleep in April due being sick with cancer in his Jaw I miss him dearly
It’s been 30 years since this happened. If Amanda was alive today, she’d be 39. This happened the day before Father’s Day. When I saw that Rachel was blue, I was worried, because I didn’t know what was wrong with her. I’m sure she could never thank Papillion enough for what he did for her. Dogs are man’s best friend.
my Australian terrier saved my son's life when he was 3 months old. Another family member threw him and he almost landed on the floor but his head hit my dog side. He's 2 now and my dog and him play together every day
Read an article first on this (no photos) and got confused on whether they had a collie or papillon, then realized it's a collie named Papillon.... Anyways dogs really are great!
Right on. I'm sick of the abuse inflicted upon them. From animal testing to being skinned alive for their fur. It makes me sick what they do to these beautiful creatures.
Even lassie and the paramedics deserve alot of credit tons of it let's honor them as they do job your service and time and efforts are deeply appreciated even on rescue 911your show rocks thanks great job great team work and great and sweet catches as usual great team efforts are deeply appreciated thanks to everyone who responds way to go very impressed I'm left speechless !! Joe ❤😂😂😅😅😊
Im feeling sad because of your loss, I cant find words but I feel extremely empathy to you. There is few things in your story that touch my life too. Take care and be strong!
This show used to scare the shit out of me. I would literally start shaking, but I couldn't stop watching. I wonder if it's a good thing that I became desensitized to this sort of stuff...
We had a Collie when I was a Child. He MORE than protected us. But yes yes, he he was ALWAY'S THERE FOR US TOO. I'm 65 now and yes, I'm tear's. Men do CRY.
Nawwww, oh man, what a hero dog! Im SO glad they kept the dog, he definitely deserves his spot in their family! ❤️💯👌🏽😍. Absolutely beautiful story. Animals are SO SO amazingly smart!
This segment is very similar to a movie I saw recently called Firehouse Dog! Both Dogs alerted people when there was trouble and we both had a great outcome!
Hello Mindy, this is a lovely story and example of what animals can do. I am an English as a foreign language teacher and I will show your story in my class to my students. I think they will like it very much. I hope it can teach them many life values as well. God bless all your family.
I had a collie/english shepherd mix named Ginger for 16 years. If you think of the nobility, love, devotion, gentleness, and intelligence lassie showed in the series, you would have Ginger. She was the most loving, majestic, gentle and smart dog you could ever think of. She protected us when we were young (especially my then toddler brother), and loved us like no other. She even raised a baby kitten we found as her own. Ginger passed away at 16, three days after christmas 2006. We miss her badly
Go Pappy!!! Aww Pappy must be in heaven now!! Furry hero!! Can't believe these amazing stories are so old. Seems like just yesterday!! Wonder where once a fragile little baby Rachael is today. ❤
