The final day of the Rescue Great Day 2023 rope rescue competition is already here! And what a finisher it was! That first challenge was really small! I did not think people would be able to get the stretchers through! Same as with that last one. I am amazed how the organisation was able to come up with a twist that made it just a little harder in every exercise!

I wish I could play like this with my friends, but I am the only one I know with any interest in climbing and working with ropes. Of course, being as old as dirt doesn't help either. I am pretty much limited to climbing trees in the city park by myself and hoping the local police don't chase me away.

Recently found your channel and really enjoy it. At 3:40 Can please explain the ASAP being attached to the becket of the maestro? Is that a safety setup or were they loading the asap so they could unload the maestro? Id love to see the full video from this rescue.

Well spotted! They were passing the knot on that rope. But they had to resort to a differently method because you can not open the Maestro attached to an anchor point. This is a method that could have worked with a clutch.

One real rescue in 20+ years of ropes work. A couple minor ones during training because of fatigue delegates being clumsy.

It's interesting to see that most team used a very flat stretcher bridle, which of course makes edge transitions much easier. They however failed to adjust the attendant tether length from standard, which means that in most cases the attendant was in a terrible position, far too low, to be able to assist with managing the patient should any emergency have occurred.

A few things, you are judging teams competing at a competition, not a team doing a real rescue with an injured person. If you don’t loose points for getting 30cm higher, why would you? And only the rope rebels were in the low side in this video. From what I remember the rest was in a decent spot. But I might mistaken on that.

@@TheRopeAccessChannel Train like you rescue and rescue like you train. Maybe something happens to the simulated patient during the process and they need assistance. I realise it's relatively unlikely but still.
