I've been where you are now with my rescue trying to slowly get him to accept a headcollar. Your doing great it takes time but the extra time now taking it slowly is so worth it

I am another new subscriber from Tina's but i am absoloutly loving your channel and am wishing i found it sooner! I would absolutely love to do this sort of thing. Well done your doing so great!! The join up helped so much. We have our 7 rescue minis that compared to the 2 donkeys we rescued are easy. It’s a work in progress with getting the halter on them but what helped us was tiny pieces of carrot and they got a piece when they touched the halter then they had to put their nose thru to get the carrot then they had to leave their nose thru while you held it fairly firmly to have the carrot then they didn’t get any until they let us flip it behind their ears ( big donkey ears are so much harder lol) so long story short within like 3 days we were able to boldly walk up with the halter slip it on and flip behind the ears and do it up then they got the carrot 😀 worked so well and they were happy with a stroke and a good boy instead of the carrot. Sorry that this was so long winded 😀 our problem with the donks tho is one of them likes to just take off when you are leading him 🤪 so as I said it’s a work in progress lol good luck and you really are doing a wonderful job x

Looks like Marylegs from Black Beauty. Don't be fooled ponys can be with bigger horses😂 we have a pony that bosses around our big grey draft.😂 You want to treat/train them like any other horse. From round pinning and sacking out otherwise they start to learn bad habits rather quickly. Treats aren't really good with training them (unless using clicker training) tricking your horse into wearing a bridel isn't teaching em anything.
