End of Sailing Montenegro? - We decided to stay in Montenegro and apply for residency in Montenegro. WHY? That's probably what you are thinking. Why aren't we sailing Montenegro? Why are we in Porto Montenegro Marina all the time? It seems that we have become a Montenegro travel guide. If you've seen our previous Montenegro travel vlog, you know that we are pregnant. One of the reasons why our plans have changed. But we have some more reasons why we are living in Montenegro, enjoy our life in Montenegro and become a bit of a Montenegro digital nomad.
Within this episode we tell you about our life in Montenegro, our slow traveling in Montenegro. We go on a roadtrip to Montenegro to one of Montenegro hidden gems, Gornja Lastva Montenegro. But to be honest, we think Montenegro is a hidden gem Europe, one of the best places to visit Europe in 2022 or best places in east Europe. Definitely a must see in Europe, if you're traveling in Europe 2022.

The only multihull I've ever heard about in Arctic/Antarctic waters was a (Norwegian?) trimaran that tried the North-East passage (Russia) some yrs ago. The boat was super fast, but wasn't able to cope with the closing and opening of the drift ice. And ofc multihulls and ice is NO BUENO. So that idea sounds extremely stupid to me. And rough and icy sea is why there are extremely few multihulls in Norway - they just dont fit.

@@FeeltheBreeze Thank you for reading :) Well, maybe I was too fast commenting as I forgot to mention I myself was an early adopter, ie owner, of a multihull boat here north. In my teens I had a Danish Supernova, a 14" trimaran with tiny outriggers. It was designed to flip over and go fast and was perfect for dates with curious girls on flat water lakes with its soft trampoline 😉. When I say that multihulls are not so fit for though conditions I came to think about Alluring Arctic (RU-vidrs) that were "stranded" in a fishing village on Iceland this winter. Overnight the not so well protected harbor froze that caused some concern. Ancoring was out of the question in those waters. I just cannot imagine what the snow and ice and sea would have done to a multihull. Imagine you have to de-ice over 1000 sg.ft. of deck just to stay afloat. However, my biggest concern is how sea ice would fare with two or three hulls. If I had seriously considered high N or S travels I'd get myself a motorsailer that also have indoor steering/sail handling, type Finnsailer, or one with a very sturdy dodger. And mult-fuel options (diesel, wood, coal) for heating the entire boat as non-protected diesel in the tanks can also freeze. Tot ziens from a half Dutch.

You could be speaking about Slovenia. Apart from the tax (Montenegro is kinder) both countries are hidden gems and very similar. Because of you two, and little Benjamin too, I will be looking closer to where I finally set up my base. This will include a business component. So pleased to see you feeling much better as you progress through your pregnancy. I look forward to the next few episodes with much interest. I say when you install a diesel heater make one heat vent lines go to the cockpit . Then get one of those motorcycle jumpsuits that will plug into the vent with a hose..

Have a look at recent Sailing Uma episodes. They've just returned (I believe they're currently in Scottish waters) from a sojourn in Arctic waters lasting more than a year, strarting in Norway and working their way north all the way to Svalbard (Spitsbergen) and returning via Iceland. They're sailing a monohull but I imagine their experiences would be of interest just the same. One thing about their boat, too, is that it is all-electric, and it performed flawlessly in even the most arduous conditions.

This was our first time coming to Montenegro and so impressed with the beauty and entrepreneurial activity we bought an apartment on the other side of Boka Place. We have fallen in love with Tivat and it is definitely a place going ahead, it will be hard for us to return to Australia but we will be back soon enough.

Yes and now, they missed the cruiseships but that's it, a lot of neighbouring countries visited Montenegro and last years there were no beds available, we spoke to a lot of local entrepreneurs and most of them had really great seasons during pandemic.

Great vlog again and it really is a ghost town. There you can just walk around naked without anyone seeing you, well unless you take a trip 😁. Why did you go into that tree has Gerben height fear. I thought it was quite something with your pregnancy. Good reason to stay there, but I will miss the adventures on the water and the beautiful places where you anchored. Is Benjamin going to a special school where they speak English ? . It will certainly be difficult in the beginning, but playing nicely with other children is also fun. @@FeeltheBreeze It is my theory that most of our diseases in the modern world are in fact related more to hygiene than anything else I do a lot of train travel and the smell of people in general are rather stink. I also had the opportunity to notice the lack of hygiene in hospitals with personal wearing the same uniforms home and public that they work in. I know for a fact in the old days when Matrons ruled the roost hygiene was number one on the list. Just an old man's opinion and God Bless to a wonderful family.

I would like to hear any updates or sea trials you might do on a multihull as that would help me later when i make my decision on which way i will go. For you a multihull will be more level and smoother sailing with a little less seasickness. One disadvantage it might be double costly in a marina. That's why i need enough money to buy a house on the water to keep my catamaran or trimaran out behind the house. At 72 this year i think it's a little late for me to think about sailing around the world. If i get a really comfortable boat maybe my wife would be more open to it.

For setting up diesel heating and preparation for cold-weather sailing you should email the following sailing channels: “Alluring Arctic Sailing” and “Sailing Uma”. Alluring Arctic Sailing also has a video on setting up heating with diesel. Insulation for your boat might be an issue, as well. As for a catamaran, they are basically a small house on platoons. Life is literally on the level, particularly when sailing. However, catamarans typically don’t sail well close to the wind. Also, in extremely nasty weather, particularly the kind that you will find in waters near polar regions, catamarans are far more dangerous than a monohull with a massive keel. When a catamaran capsizes, it stays capsized.

See what sailing Uma did...on their Artic visit ....the Antarctic 🌐😉🏔️ is more difficult as theres more water and less land to take shelter near. Check Alluring Artic channel... Pregnancy sickness is horrible as bad if not worse than bad seasickness.. if you had difficulties before then you have a shared experience with Danni on Nomad Citizen.
