Yeah. I prefer Richard Waugh as the cold, calculating Wesker. DC Douglas's voice fits with Wesker going off the deep end after realising he was a pawn of Spencer's though.
Wrong. Wesker has become by far more iconic for RE than the proper heroes in the game. The fact you dont like his personality, does not mean the whole franchise does not need him. In fact, without Wesker, the whole plot of what RE was, is gone. And btw, if you have paid enough attention to tthe whole story, Wesker past was more complicated than it seems. Maybe if you do, you will find some answers why he does what he does.
My biggest issue with that is that now the RE5 version of Wesker seems to be the most popular, and unless we get a remake or something it will remain the most current version.
Agree. A lot of fans were upset about killing Wesker (I was one of them). My face was epic when Jake came out from shadows "Elloooooo, I am Wesker's son"... wait... what? O_O when, who, where?... are you fucking kidding me?? which kind of twisted plot is that? too twisted for a RE game... Wesker is now dead, and fans cannot do anything about that, just accept it. But he deserved a better dead, not that one. He deserved something more epic Y_Y

Well, I think both do an excellent job, but I feel that Waugh makes Wesker sound more cold, calm, calculated, etc. While Douglas makes him seem angry all the time.
Forget 2 and 3, RE5 is really the game that needs to be completely remade so the characters actually resemble their counterparts in previous games (both in attitude and appearance).
I agree... Wouldn't it be cool though if Shinji Mikami were to come out and make a "spin-off" game based on his interpretation of how RE5 should have been? It'll probably never happen, but I don't doubt it would make a lot of money and happy fans.
I am not sure. All the documents on the subject say that all the Wesker children were programmed to think under Spencer "moral" values, being aware of that or not.They stated that Wesker was feeling anxious about being far from Spencer, and that was a thing they programmed on them, always looking for their creator, even if they were aware of it or not,Despite that, I am not really a fan of what they have done to that game.The personality change and the serum-popping-out-of-the-blue was hilarous.
Yes, I think the whole project Wesker was an excuse, a way to put Wesker down, the only way they had to kill him, cause he was bound to be almost immortal. And just one day, Chris becomes a whiner, Wesker a madened psycopath, Jill blondie, and a serum which never heard of it jumping around. The only way I could take it was hilarous. Was that or starting to cry and never end.
That may be true. I think the project Wesker thing was an interesting concept, but in my opinion the plot of RE5 did nothing to imply that it was planned from the start of series. Instead it seems like something tacked on by Capcom without rhyme or reason. Sort of like Wesker having a son, Chris being on 'roids, and Barry and Rebecca never reappearing... but I guess have to agree with you that it is kind of hilarious xD
Like I said in another video, William got a dose of good ol' "what goes around, comes around." He was all on Umbrella's side when It came to the assasination of James Marcus, but was gunned down by the same people who he helped. I felt sorry for William first time I played Resident Evil 2, but if you think about it, he was an asshole that got what was coming to him.
He was a Wesker Child since before he was born. Umbrella used the Progenitor Virus on him to make his DNA superior. I think discovering the truth about this is what made him slowly descent into madness during Resident Evil 5.
But you do realize that's not Douglas's fault, right? He was told to portray Wesker like that because it was in the script and plot line for him to show more emotion, anger, and hatred, especially towards Chris. Because this was his downfall after all. You can not blame this on Douglas and say that's why you liked his voice less or whatever.
I can say whatever I want about it. It's my personal opinion and feeling. Even in Umbrella Chronicles (which was nowhere near his downfall in the series) I felt he portrayed the character the same way in Resident Evil 5. Don't attack me for having an opinion.
RE5 did a VERY poor job at handling Wesker. He acted like a completely different character through out most of the game, and wasn't the calm and collected badass from CV, 0, or UC.
Wait a second did umbrella assasignate Birkin or Wesker sent the soldierget the t virus from him but instead kill him if it umbrella I was thinking what would happen if Wesker help Birkin and then he DIDN`t die and live but somehow t virus is still leak in raccoon city
@MsTwilight75 Not brown, just a much darker shade of blond. It's usually the lighting that throws it off, although the animation is only right in BH5 while BH0 does a good job (in his scene talking to Birkin before leaving, at least) as well.
Anyone think it's ironic (or lazy) how Birkin died the exact same way as Marcus, with Umbrella turning on him as he researches an experimantel virus with that same murder attempt be what triggers him to be infected by their own creations and go out and infect several ppl also anyone else feel betrayed at RE5 with their bullshit about Wesker having been engineered by Umbrella to be super human from the start
Difference is that James Marcus actually died whereas Birkin just mutated. The villain of RE0 is just one of Marcus’s experiments that is imitating him. It is NOT actually him, make no mistake. It’s just a mutant queen leech who thinks it’s Marcus.

@MsTwilight75 actually your right the color of his hair is truly light brown but it reacts to the virus type currently in his system so it changes from blonde to brown even white at times
I personally don't like his voice in the new ones but that just because I don't know the guy who voices the new ones lol I actually know the guy who voices wesker really well and he's an awesome guy :D
ahh Wesker was such an asshole. he used his team and half of them got killed in the mansion just because of his dirty plans. and in Code Veroinca he hit Claire (Chris's sister) who the hell beat a woman? oh Wesker does! and in RE5 he brainwashed Jill. I'm actually happy to see him dead. RE don't need him.
@TheBIOPRINCE Well a series needs closure and considering Wesker has no humanity at all I can understand him getting a bit nuts. Despite that we can all admit that mostly every great villain had a shitty death. I can rarely think of one awesome villain whom I can say he had an appropriate death.
I don't think he was literally brainwashed into doing Spencer's bidding. Umbrella, or rather, Spencer, had a hand in every action of his life because they guided him to study at the research facility, to inject himself with a virus, etc. As for his madness in RE5, I personally think that was just ignorance on Cashcom's part. They completely altered the character models, even their heights, which in my book makes RE5 onward non-canon. But beyond that, they also changed all of their personalities.
