Originaly they were going to remake re2 with this engine after the re1 remake and the same with 3 but there was a lot of tension with Sony wanting the re1 remake on ps2 and us fans weren't happy it was a gamecube exclusive that was back then we only got re4 on ps2 after because sonys deal with capcom that numbered titles had to be released on PlayStation so in the end till we got to ps4 we got the games that we should of got a long time ago so the re2 remake won't work on the switch that is Nintendos karma from them years of the gamecube stealing resident evil don't get me wrong the switch is good probably the best thing Nintendo has ever done since n64 like said re2 remake with this engine would of been possible if Sony got it aswel as Nintendo

That's why I wish 2 and 3 were remade on REmake's engine or RE4's engine. With Mikami involved. RE2R is a bit hollow, cuts out more than it adds in. Capcom should leave the older titles alone and focus on the future.

I don't know though, the Chronicle series' retellings are butchered with lack context for what happened, especially for those who never experience the originals. RE0 retelling is okay, because the original itself has not much story to it, though it may butchered Billy's backstory on how his troop has misinformation that result in them slaughter the village. RE1 retelling should be a perfect opportunity to make a canon RE1 once and for all, but the story is basically the same as Chris's campaign, just with Jill not being captured, a heavy missed opportunity, and Wesker's revelation in this version delivered poorly as well. The whole time the pair never have a clue until Wesker show up and reveal the everything is dumb and destroy the thrill to gradually piecing the details together. RE3 retelling is also an opportunity to make canon RE3 due to the linear design, but missed due to heavy butchered story, lack of multiple Nemesis's appearances which is the trademark of RE3 story, no Nikolai and other Carlos's crew. It's just Jill and Carlos alone try to get out of the city, fighting some monster until encounter Nemesis near the end. which is lame. RE2 retelling is an improvement over Umbrella Chronicles retellings due to a more POV experience and more dialogues and interaction, but a lot of story points have no clarifications and lack of context which caused confusion to first timer. We don't know what's up with Chief Iron, we don't know Ada's true identity despite some suspicion, etc. Little characterizations changes here and there... Code Veronica retelling is also butchered from the original. Wesker did not explicit involved and there are important information and story points removed that made the original interesting. So for conclusion, most retelling in Chronicle series are very underwhelming. But Darkside Chronicle retellings are pretty interesting with its narrative design that offer cinematic experience and character interactions that the original lacks made them pretty enjoyable, as long as you turn your brain off a little like me.

2 Remake is perfect as a remake. And the story is told very well. Think of the Kendo cutscene, or Annette dying in front of Sherry. And Sherry is so much better. The Leon/Claire differences paired with the 1st/2nd scenario differences make them about as different as the original. I don't get why people complain about the story in 2 Remake.

Well, i don’t think so. I think her face looks crappy asf in TDC, but in the remake her face looks good.

@@52fifteen52 I disagree Claire in the remake just looks way too peachy in the face and carefree all around. Also for anyone that has played the original RE2 Claire will look completely normal here cause her appearance is supposed to resemble an unattractive boyish biker which that is what she actually is.

@@52fifteen52 I think claire looks worse in the remake, but i think it's because the facial tech capcom put since RE7, like, claire's model is far from bad, but you can't replace the original Claire Redfield with an actress, it's like if John Wick 4 it's release but instead of keanu reeves they put hopper from Stranger Things or something like that.

@@SolidRaiden2655 played a friends copy of the game didn't finish it and the only thing liked was the gameplay and not much else. Look you can think and say my taste sucks but it's my taste and it's not gonna change anytime soon.

If the resident evil 2 remake came out on the GameCube much like the RE 1 remake then I have a feeling it would have looked something like this same designs just enhanced visuals and upgrades like the first one

It wasn’t too bad, I mean aiming with a duel shock 3 and any controller besides a wii remote is pretty difficult.

rail shooter are rarerly above average but this game with a good pal was a blast to play and replay. but yeah it wasnt resident evil, it was chronicles

This was meant to be a spin-off rail shooter. It wasn't intended at all to be a remake although the cutscenes are on point.
