Imagine if the guys behind the practical effects in John Carpenter's "The Thing" used their talents in a Resident Evil movie. They could have pulled off a fantastic William Birkin "G"
Theres something almost Lovecraftian about Birkins forms, ranging from a human puppeteerd by a horrid parasite to a demon from hell and a formless mass of tendrils, its unending hunger driving it to consume everything in its path.
This theme perfectly encapsulates the overwhelming feeling of dread and terror. The frantic, screaming opera tells us, there is nothing human left. No sympathy, no pity, no remorse, just a terrible monster that seeks the death of all living things. There is no more Birkin, there is only the demon, Golgotha
what exactly is the voice singing? are they actually words, or is it just screaming? "la la laaa, bra la la la, bra la laaa" is all i hear from it... but thats me...
Man, the opera singer just makes the theme almost demential. Like if it's a sound your own mind would make while you're on the verge of insanity. This theme is a fucking masterpiece
I always saw this song as a poetic look into Birkin's mind at this point in the game. Where G is the horns charging at you, showing full dominance and the opera voice being Birkin's mind clashing with the monster. The scary part is that both the horns and the opera singer are performing the same notes which mean they both have the same goal... Killing you.
@@Ps1guy618 i dont think that's 100% factual. take Curtis Miller from the animated movies for example. Even Leon was certain curtis' consciousness was completely gone but when the fully evolved G form of him saw a childhood photo of him and his sister, he was able to pull himself out for a few seconds to beg for his sister to flee from him. G is an entity in it of itself, theres no denying that, but the amount of control G has may differ with every host. I dunno I'd like to beleive when Malformations are fighting the main characters, both birkin and G are in sync and want to kill you
Fucking hell this boss fight made me nervous because of the time limit, scared me because the camera sometimes didn´t show me when and where it would jump and it killed me so many times!!! It made me growl louder than him, for sure.
The song might be called "Third" Malformation, but it's not for form 3. It should play for Claire's fight with form 4 as well as the true final boss against the final form.
And their designs. They now look like disgusting masses of flesh and Eyeballs; which fit's for the final form, since that was it's theme. But the Third and 4th forms looked so Terryfying and intimidating as they were 21 years ago; now they look a bit derpy and just plain gross
@@shadowdragun I liked the old design for the 3rd malformation. that black-ish made it look like a real monster rather than just a grossed out piece of flesh. but the new one just makes the job done imo
I... personally disagree. Edit: I listen to the OG, darkside, and the remake and I think darkside got it the best. It removed the crust of the OG (sorry I know that may be part of it) but kept the impact of emotion.
