I usually prefer no commentary. It reminds me of the times before “professional” RU-vid gamers but Carcinogen knows what he’s talking about so his commentary doesn’t piss me off and I just straight out like the guy after watching some of his videos.
I don't know why anyone wouldn't want to hear your commentary. That's kind of the only reason I *do* watch them. Not gonna lie to myself, I'm never going to actually do these runs. I just like hearing how they're done.
Over in the no commentary version Im sure there are a bunch of people who have pop corn, Snuggie blankets and the lights dimmed while they watch Resident Evil 3's pixilated graphics like a movie typing out their thankyous for the no commentary versions.
Totally agree with this it's a great watch, really enjoy all the content carci puts out fantastic knowledge and expertise. I did say before I would love to see that nemesis garbage fight variations on different platforms. Even if its after re3 remake
The conflicting feelings of having to remain composed whilst having to escape two equally terrifying enemies is some of what makes survival horror great. Even if getting smacked in the situation pisses me off.
Don't worry I found the perfect pro strategy for dealing with him in the r3make demo. I simply threw a grenade at him and ran away screaming like a little girl

I tried to imagine how the first Nemesis Boss fight would go and I was not disappointed. Imagine Jill just stabbing Nemesis a hundred times while displaying that fancy footwork, though
peter It’s a shame because Capcom didn’t even bother upscaling the pre-rendered backgrounds or giving much of anything HD treatment. The HD fan projects of 2-4 really put things into perspective with just how good these games can look if properly remastered. It’s a shame that it’s exclusive to pc though.
It's ridiculous how neglected and disappointing the classic game section of the psn store is. Somehow they made it worse than the PS3 store. It's not like they can't have both remakes and the original versions

I dont get how someone would watch a run like this WITHOUT commentary. you learn sooo much about a game when people explain what and why they are doing strats. keep up the good work!
We found those hidden items in the pre-rendered background pixels because as kids we had literally nothing better to do but run around smashing the interact button on objects just to see what secrets there were. This is how I ended up finding so many little hidden things in these old RE games.
I wish you could fight Nemesis with the knife and he drops knife parts if you beat him. Like tape to attach a second, bigger knife on the end. Or a stock and scope, so you can knife someone from a distance away. Or a silencer for the blade. I feel this would've added a lot of nice incentive to complete the game with knife only.

However, I wanted to tell you that thanks to your advice, I finally beat Code Veronica in normal mode. I got a B! I used 7 saves and 0 deaths. I just wanted to thank you because I really couldn’t have done it without some of your strats. I’m hoping someday to get an A rank
I've seen tons of playthroughs of this game over the years, and I've played this game a dozen times. However, after 15 plus years of playing and seeing this game, I never knew you could kill the giant worm by electrocution! Wow, what a discovery~~
This was such an entertaining run to watch. I watched every second of it which I don’t do often. And your commentary adds to the experience so keep it up! I gotta ask though; can you do a no damage knife only inferno in the remake? I saw BoBo and Aether do inferno no shop items knife runs which is just insane, but they take some damage. If there’s someone who can pull that off without damage it’s definitely you!

@@CarcinogenSDA It makes me want to bust out my PS2, dust off my copy of RE3 and play again. I did a replay of RE2 on PS1 (PS2 ran it though) right before Remake 2 came out a few years back. Watching your runs really helps me get the better ranks easier, and have fun while doing it. Thank you.
this game aged like fine wine. Wish they put more of this games content in the remake. Also i usually HATEEEEE COMMENTARY, but this was actually chill and prefered. good job man

On Hard mode, it takes 14 hits to defeat zombies, 8 hits for the Cerberuses, 1 hit to defeat crows, 19 hits to defeat the Drain Deimos/Brain Sucker, 14 Hits to defeat Hunters (beta and gamma), 12 hits to defeat web spinners, The Graver Digger takes more than 80 hits to be defeated, Nemesis (first/second mutation except in the dead factory that he can be defeated with just around 40 hits, which might take about 4 minutes to do this with out taking any damage) around 90 hits but it takes up to 150 knife hits to defeat him in his final mutation 😮👍

A nice and challenging run Carci. Glad to hear about that funny glitch with the dogs after the park. It's a slight shame about the audio desync but there's always a risk of these things and it was less distracting then the audio channel issue was. Looking forward to the RE3 remake and your content on such.
Just saying, RE3 and Dino Crisis were the first two games I ever bought for my PSX, I bought them together, and they each came with a bonus demo disc for the other game! (Incidentially RE3 2020 is the first game I've ever pre-ordered, so that's a thing too...) The third game I ever bought for my PSX was Metal Gear Solid. Any chance of a MGS run?

if I’m saving, it means i don’t do it in one take and rerecord when i take damage (obviously). if I’m doing it without saving, then that’s the clearly impressive one :p
You always start these with a "full disclosure" that you use saves for your madman no damage runs and i'm reminded that there is a complete knob out there waiting till then end to just piss in the punch.
well because i know plenty of people who make TASes who pretend to be doing it No Save. idc if people think my run isn’t good enough because I didn’t fake what I did, that’s their problem
I like that you captured in RGB. I don't have access to SCART but I play my PSX titles exclusively in S-Video on my Trinitron. It makes a huge difference. Retro gaming bliss, especially for classic RE titles. 👌👌👍👍
Whoa man, that was insane! Funny to think when I was 11 this game was so hard, but really it's not. I can't let you slide on what you said on 4:15, why is Code Veronica a terrible knifing game? I can imagine how bad it is, plus no dodge move. Code Veronica: "Knife only, no damage" has to be impossible.
You are good as smallvillecs back in the day , never quite understood how to evade or push the enemies , I tried to figure it out but all i kept dying anyway
How long have you trained before you uploaded the video? Did you practice the patterns from save point to save point? Btw, this whole run is very impressive to say the least. Given some of the fucked up camera angles you REALLY need to see where you are actually going.
