No Damage runs are probably how the RE protagonists would’ve really done it. I highly doubt smoking a joint can reverse the effects of a zombie bite or poison. Great run Dude.
Jill getting infected with the T virus by Nemesis is canon though, and Leon getting infected with Las Plagas as well, but canonically speaking i can think where protagonists got hit.
I’m starting to think the resident evil series is why finding helicopter pilots might be troublesome. If anyone has played these games, they know if “helicopter pilot” is your occupation it’s a 99.99% death sentence. I think the only one that didn’t die was Ada’s pilot in re4 and Chris’s endgame pilot from re5. Let us bow our heads in memory of all the fallen pilots that were taken from us too soon... usually by rocket launcher.
It's amazing how much love you have for this game. Resident Evil 3 was the first RE I got; Mom asked some random dude at the store what games were popular back in the day when she just bought a PsOne for me and my brother. I got MGS, RE3, Gran Turismo 2 and THPS2. This video is perfect as a last run through RE3 before the remake. You are the channel with the kind of content I always wanted as a kid. Thank you Carci! You're the best
Carci trademarks 1-intro that lets u know what's up 2-roasting his past self 3-flawless yet humble exictuon of good gameplay tactics 4-CAT LOGO IS BEST LOGO
I normally avoid videos with commentary however I really enjoy your approach. I also appreciate the commentary-less option, but I can see me watching your commentary runs. Great content!
Yes. Quite disappointed with ending honestly, original one actually give me the goosebump, many original scene i like to see in remake like Brad death by Nemesis also got changed in remake, though its good to have some variation, but still...
This game will always hold a special place in my heart. My friend Chad and I stayed up all night on release day to beat this game. He controlled the game and I helped with the puzzles. We beat it that night and no one believed we did it without using a guidebook. No one believed that we figured out the water sample puzzle as easily as we did. It took about 30 seconds to understand what to do. I knew it was one of two things, and the second thing was the one that worked. Honestly, it's been so long that I don't remember what the puzzle was anymore or what the solution is. Very excited to watch this gameplay!
To break down A Rank requirements completely: You are scored anywhere from 0 to 100 points in three different categories: Time, Saves, and Healing, for a cumulative total score of anywhere between 0-300. Time is easy, -1 point for every minute above 2H 30M Saves is also easy, -10 points per save Healing is complicated: Unlike other RE games which only penalize you for using First Aid Sprays, RE3 docks the player for ALL forms of healing, herbs included. Basically, the player has a max health of 200, and the game docks points from this category based on how much total healing the player has used at games end. If the player stays under 1500 points of healing throughout the entire game (as Carcinogen said, anything over 725% healing, or 7 full heals and a single Green Herb) you are awarded the full 100 points for this category. Anything over that begins to ding you. Single Green Herbs subtract 50 points from this score Double Greens subtract 100 All full heals, Sprays, Red/Greens, Triple Greens etc, subtract 200. Blue herbs subtract nothing. Stay within 1500 points in this category and you get a full 100 towards your rank. At games end your scores in these three categories will be combined and your rank is determined by this total. If you get at least 270 points across these three categories, you get A Rank. The way they combine make it so that you have a small margin of error across one or more categories based on your performance in others. For instance, if you stay under 1500 points of healing and make no saves, you are allowed an additional 30 minutes to finish the game, as each minute over the threshold docks you one point. So if you finished with 2h 45m, no saves and stay under the healing threshold, you'd finish with a score of 285 and have A Rank. If you finished in 2h 15M, stay under the healing threshold but make 1 Save, you would finish with a score of 290 and have A Rank, etc. Hope that clarifies things for anyone interested.
Good write up. I've been trying to look this information up in various places but I get conflicting information. Are these requirements the same for RE2 except Green Herbs don't deduct points?
@@animedrawer69 It's probably similar. RE2 only penalizes you for sprays as far as I know, and you can still get an A rank in RE2 with up to three saves.
I know this vid is one year ago and people probably wont see this comment (Carci as well, although i hope he sees this) But i must say, this video helped me get an A rank on my RE Nemesis, I figured out some of the paths myself but most credits to carci for Creating such a high quality video with top notch commentary that includes no bullshit, a voice that is so soothing and all infos that actually help. Thanks a ton Carci, why isnt this guy getting more recognition
I really scared as hell to see intro when I play as kid, and Brad death scene as well, really want to see it in remake tbh and really disappointed that they not done these iconic scene justice
I am extremely fascinated by how much detailed info you have on things. I played this game like 50 times when i was a preteen and i hadn't noticed most of the stuff you mentioned here hehe. Hats off to you sir!👌
This is one of my favourite games and I think your playthrough is perfect. I like how you explain what you are doing and you don’t talk over the dialogue/cutscenes. I did similar runs such as this as a teenager and it was fun seeing the tricks I used to do. Learned quite a bit about a game I thought I knew everything about also.
I prefer brad's death in nemesis vs the terrible remake game. Adds alot more to jill's conviction and nemesis' introduction. Not the 400 lb mutant buffoon who lets a wooden door stop his march.
This video was extremely helpful. I don’t know how I beat this game as often as I did when I was a young teenager lol. That water puzzle had me and my friend stumped for a while
Been a fan of the channel for a year now and have watched all these runs multiple times before bed. I don’t know why but it relaxes me. So! I put together a drinking game for other CarcinogenSDA fans. (You can also do this with a non-alcoholic beverage.) Take one shot if: Carci reminds us it’s not a speed run. Carci mentions V Sync (another shot if he mentions it’s off.) Carci mentions RNG Carci mentions past Carci. Take two shots if: Carci says he got lucky on a dodge. Carci says somthing in Japanese. Carci mentions a “Kill all Run.” Take three shots if: Carci says “Shout out to Twitch chat.” Have a wonderful week CarcinogenSDA and fans! :)
The way you punk nemesis drops my jaw, every battle I've had with him, my way, takes time, bullets & frustration but you make the bastard feel that way instead 😅 good shit good sir 🤘
All of RE3 remake felt totally watered down, wasn't gory, wasn't scary and a 400 LB mutant bio weapon could be stopped by closing a wooden door in his face when his script was over. Not to mention a TON of 'modern game design' issues with the title. Total disappointment.
Dude I’ve been binge watching all of your content and you are just amazing. As a fan of Resident Evil since spring ‘96, I appreciate your commentary and walkthroughs. Subbed. Much thanks!
I never played the original, but I liked this intro way better than RE3R. I mean I liked how remaster they tried to be like “look how close our made up story imitates what’s going on in modern day real life”. But the classic intro shows how bad the infection was and how fast. The swat teams and shit and military thought they had it under control piece of cake and the fact it went to shit so bad so fast and Raccoon city is officially lost to the undead is a great setup for you to then have to take control after seeing all that😂
Nothing is more calming and chill than cool calm Carci handling everything without getting damaged and uses his timelessley handsome and passionate yet smooth voice to guide us safely.
I'm so thankful of this channel. I was able to do speed runs properly this time. Still even after all these 22 years, I'm still practicing the dodge timing. Great video!
i just finished playing RE1 and RE2 back to back, games I have a lot of experience with, but RE3 is one i never really gave much time. i watched the first 30 minutes of the video just to give me a head start of an idea of what to do along with some tips and tricks (didn't know about the enhanced ammo), so thank you carci this made the experience soooo much better.
I just want to say I love your videos and commentary. Especially what America is experiencing now because of the C-bug and being quarantined right now.
Jesus Carci, I consider myself more than decent at Resident Evil games, I've been playing them for more than two decades now,. Resident Evil 3 was always the one to kick my ass and give me a terrible rank to add insult to injury. The things you do man...
Oh wow, thanks for going above and beyond Carci! Three saves I can do, 2h30 will require a bit of optimization. Just need to avoid damage as much as possible then.
it's really easy if you ditch handgun after getting shotgun, only go from A to B, and don't fight Nemesis. when you streamine the key items, then you know what enemies you're fighting and when
I absolutely love when carci explains the different choices/paths and scenarios that occur when you make different decisions. It really answers my questions of "I wonder what happens if he did this instead of this" when he makes a choice. Well done.
i think this version is still better than the remake, they missed out so much in the remake, i love your playthroughs and how you explain what your doing, its a big thumbs up from me.
I agree. But that's probably because of nostalgia. The original game seems longer, too. I loved the RE2 remake, but the new RE3 remake seemed like it had been phoned in a little. Lots of stun-locking from the Nemesis and annoying gameplay issues.
just the city portion is 5x bigger also there is an abudance of zombies in here. The re3make doesn;t feel like a city at all just a small neighbourhood and not what you expect from an outbreak. yeah the cut content the nonexistent non scripted encounters and pursuit and the retarded intro killed that as a remake and as a decent game it's fun but untapped potential 6.5/10 from me
to think I used to fight nemmy "fair and square" in front of the RPD by doing my best to dodge to his right and shooting him once or twice when there was a cool strat that just makes him look like a total chump...
Thank you so much for these amazing runs of my childhood games. I am too old and too busy to replay them, so this is the next best thing (not to mention the additional trivia and nuance i never knew about). Keep it up!
Why is it, when Jill jumps out from the tram it makes me laugh. Carlos has barely finished talking and she just bails on him like "Well, this was a nice try! So long!"
1:43:50 Love how someone took the time to place explosives all over the lobby there while the Hunter was still alive. That person is a legend! Capable of even being chosen to continue the Redfield lineage.
50:13 been playing this game and have beat it countless times but that was the first time I've seen a long-range critical shotgun shot. I just didn't know that was possible. Great job on the vids bro! keep it up👍
Bro I only started playing the OG RE3 and these guides help me so much fucking I was stuck on nemesis for ages and finally just beat him, this game is in another level from the remake, thanks heaps broski ❤️
This is still the scariest intro of a game I have seen. Even worse, when the cops arrive to fight off all the zombies, the music changes to a bravado type of song, showing that these guys will obviously save the day, only for the realization that what they are up against is so resilient that they stood no chance at all. The music immediately changes to a song of despair
It’s amazing. So exciting. So gloriously 90s and action oriented. People shouting action movie clichés like “neverrrrr” or “dieeee” and “you want some more!?!?” 🤣🤣🤣. Fast forward to 2020 and Capcom tried pandering to feminists with #metoo references 🙄
Good work bro I actually just finished my first no damage run last night thanks to your videos! So this is pretty cool to wake up to. Won't be attempting this any time soon, though.
I watched this playthrough after finishing RE3 Remake. I haven't played the original and I wanted to see what the original was like. There are some who complain that the remake was short but I think remake has plenty of content to enjoy. Carlo's campaign can be pretty crazy in the new one! Looks like Capcom did cut out a bit of enemies and areas though. This was a great run. I'm off to watch the run for the remake and get those sweet strats
Thanks to your 1st Nemesis strat outside the RPD, I've finally killed him for the first time there. So many deaths made victory all the sweeter! Love your work 👍
I watched a playable demo of RE3 remake and man, Nemesis isn't fucking around this time around. Carcinogen, you'll be the hero we'll need for that title for sure.
@@Rift2123 I doubt it. Giving it a run myself a few times, you still deal with spacing and timing issues where you can still get hit, much like in the original. It's not going to be as easy as you think. Just streamlined.
the dodge button is a little clunky if you’re going for perfect. Nemesis also forces you to go for perfect. You pretty much need to use the environment to your advantage.
Best resident evil player, period. Your runs are my favorite to watch. I always learn something new I can use, and your commentary is never trying too hard to be entertaining. I can't wait to watch you play re3 remake. You sir, deserve the heartiest of Jill sandwiches.
THE ENDING ALWAYS MAKES ME FEEL LIKE I WANNA CRY :,) IMAGINE IF THIS WOULD BE REAL AND ALL YOU NEIGHBORS FAMILY FRIENDS PETS AND EVERYTHING IS SWEPT BY A NUKE AND YOU BARELY ESCAPE AFTER FIGHTING WITH A SUPER BIO WEAPON AND THOUSANDS OF ZOMBIES... SOMETHING THAT RE3 REMAKE HAD LOST SHAMEFULLY (110001 SUBSCRIBER :3 GOOD WORK)
You know that similar thing unfortunatley did happen.. only the survivors did not barely escaped fighting bio weapons and zombies ,but their town was nuked. In matter fact two towns were nuked, they are called Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
i remember the white door at the beginning which allows you to take lighter gas, oh how scared I was for that 4 zombies quick encounter, i simply regret the playing the game and throwed my gamepad to tv. now watching you this calm gave me comfort man. WELL DONE
So. Referred here by Pikaspery from his RE 3 "playstation" video. Said your runthrough was the Mecca of perfection when dealing with Nemesis and the game in general. No false advertising there, brilliant vid!
I'm going to replay this game before REmake 3 comes out and it's really nice you actually comment on what you're doing and why you're doing things. I'm definitely "stealing" some strats from this video, even though it's going to be a casual hard mode all Nemi playthrough, no "no damage" or other epic gamer insanity. Cheers
It takes a lot of practise, and it takes a lot of understanding the mechanics of the game. Issue is that you have so many people watching these videos where it looks "easy". But fact is that those of us who practise No Damage or speedruns, have spent literally thousands of hours learning it. Unless you have put in the time to actually learn proper RE strategy as well as the time to practise the actual playing, don't feel bad. If you can master an A rank consistently on Hard level without dying, you're doing really good for a normal player.
Great runthrough. Loved this gem of a game, managed to S rank hard mode this back in the day. Watching this took me back to when I was 15 years old playing this liked and will sub
Found your speedrun on gdq. Thought it was awesome. Re3 is my favorite. Can't wait to see you speedrun that and make a new re3 speedrun world record. Keep up the good work dude. What's next a code Veronica remake? Re4? Lol who knows 🤣
