Because he was unconscious basically as the parasite took control for a brief moment. Nuance is lost on you. Everything needs to be clear as day for you to understand.
@@LSK2K "College student" "Child" Which is it? And why are you everywhere in the comments trying to trash on the remake with terribly made opinions? You're making OG fans look weird, stop it.
"Improvement"? Hell no. The original is far superior. I hate how they completely jacked up how the characters look in the remakes. In pretty much every game and cg movie, the characters look the same, but they felt the need to change their appearances in the remakes. The only good remakes are the ones done for the Gamecube.
@@englishatheart Can't please the people blinded by nostalgia, I suppose. Also, what are you on? The character models have never been consistent. It's a big problem with the characters in this series. Leon went from having reddish hair in RE2 to blond hair in RE4. Don't even get me started on the CGI movies. The appearances of the characters change with almost every new installment, video game or movie. This isn't anything new. Trying to claim that this only just started with RE4 remake is just absurd.
@@blueflare3848 People who only see games through their nostalgia tinted glasses are honestly so annoying. You'll never be able convince them that anything that came after a good game will ever be better. And i swear if anyone brings up Ada's new VA again as an argument of "This game bad" i'm going to go insane lol
@@ItsYakii I know, tell me about it. Their mindset is literally just new=bad. They probably already decided they disliked the remake before it was even released.
@@gibramrivera-yv2lo Oh great, you again. I never even mentioned graphics in my original comment. I said that the stakes feel higher and the parasite actually feels like a threat, unlike the original. My comment was specifically talking about how they handled the parasite in this game. Also, even though the graphics are objectively better, that's not why I have a slight preference for the remake. I like how the story and characters were handled more in the remake than the original.
We didn't see the scene where Leon undergoes the pain of the laser treatment in the remake, only Ashley. But at least we saw how he fought and endured the mind control of Saddler while carrying Ashley.
We wouldn't love the remake if it wasn't for the original. Really love the Remake but I will always have respect for the OG especially with all the nostalgia it has for me. It both goes and works well for its timeline i think ❤🙏
I genuinely love how much the game now feels like a direct continuation of Leon’s story from 2 instead of a game that Leon is the player character of. Only nitpick is that I liked Leon’s nightmare sequence after the boat fight more in the original. It has a bit more room to breath and therefore creates an ominous atmosphere. But they make up for it later with Leon taking Ashley to the lab.
Remake more emotional cutscenes and actually makes the player think about the context of this story and allows players to show empathy Original more lighthearted not trying to force a lot of emotion in every cutscene but highlights certain emotions when necessary due to the incredible voice acting more so a game you can pick up and play without feeling like the game has to be a super deep experience End of the debate both games are good just got to find your reason for playing
Re4make "more emotional" cutscenes and dialogue are terribly directed, written and acted. Original's "more lighthearted" cutscenes and dialogue are top camp. I skip every re4make cutscene immidietly when I replay it, for original I rewatch them instead. That's the difference.
@@cuttroguethat's YOUR opinion. The Remake is amazing. And the voice acting is well done except a couple of lines but way less try hard than the OG voices. And that's my opinion. Having played both and not being blinded by nostalgia. Recognize the good game for what it is. Of course it'll never replace the OG. The OG still stands the test of time. But the Remake improved on what needed to be improved on.
But the original game is more realistic. Shooting through wooden doors was removed from the remake. The knife parrying system was stupid. Parrying a chainsaw with a knife extremely unrealistic and stupid. And the original has better voice acting and a superior representation of the story. Remake was too easy on professional and the unlockables were stupid. Cat ears come on. The original you unlocked infinite ammo the old fashioned way. Remake you look like an already emo Leon with bitch ears. Lmao original game all the way Leon was more badass and cool.
@@reddevil1952Both Original and Remake are enjoyable. I've played both and I think there are aspects of the original that do better than the remake, but the remake was fun. Saying the RE4 remake is "easy" when In the original Re4 the knife was incredibly powerful and also gave you a free Magnum and rocket launcher. The voice acting in both games is stellar. Ada's voice might be jarring but it's something you get used to. Calling it "unrealistic" after partying a chainsaw is so goofy, it's a video game, the whole plot of RE4 is incredibly far fetched. I just think you're biased to the original.
"Blinded by nostalgia" "Drunk by nostalgia" I don't care what anyone says, both games are good, tho Ashley looks better in the original and Ada looks better in the remake. If you say I'm wrong and start an war thread on my comment, your opinion doesn't matter, deal with it, they're both good.
Nice to see someone in this comment section that isn’t biased. I personally think Ashley is better in re4r, same with Ada. I like both, personally I prefer the remake.
Love the remake but really miss the “interaction” in the cut scenes like if you don’t hit the right combo buttons on the right time you got kill in the cutscenes.. miss that kinda adrenaline..when you have to stay alert even in cutscenes.. for me it was the first game that implemented that in cut scenes whereas in other games you should feel safe in CS.. in the remake you are safe in all CS. Its more emotional than in the OG.
They tried to make Leon more realistic. His tired look is actually something called "trauma eyes". Deep, sunken, sad, tired, eye bags, tear troughs. Leon has the textbook eyes of a person who has been though some serious shit.
@@jaehaalexander1172 I agree with you. It is widely known that in RE4, Leon portrays himself as a skilled and fearless agent. However, this is merely a pretense to conceal the emotional wounds and psychological trauma he has endured in Raccoon City and his years training/working to the US of A Government. Leon's eyes looked different from other characters, with a unique stare, most of the time "lost" and gaze (soulless eyes), also despite the limited graphics. In the RE4R, his eyes are more tired with dark areas, sad, and tired, which convey more of his traumas through their expression. This is partly due to the massive graphic improvement in the game and the Devs wanted to make them more "emotionally broken". We get to witness more of Leon's struggles and exhaustion, tiredness... Regardless, we can observe the signs of trauma on both (if not all Leon's appearance in RE games, movies and series) his appearance and behavior. Different coping mechanisms for traumas. Sometimes we look and feel brave, getting "better", others we look and feel tired, hopeless -- "an endless duality of personalities."
That should have nothing to do with it. The original is far superior. I get simulator sickness and wasn't remotely bothered by the camera movements of the original. I feel bad sounding so defensive, but it seems like everything I care about gets unnecessarily remade and/or shit on, and I hate it. The original is my favorite game of all time and it should have been left alone.
If it wasn't for that over the top shoulder movement, we would not have the RE4 Remake, it was the crown jewel and set up for many games to use the over the top shoulder view
@@englishatheart everyone is different but the remake is better by a slim margin in terms of story.. it's definitely more believable and ashley is so much better.
That's your only complaint? Really? Not the fact "leon" looks and sounds like ass, luis looks like an indian tech scammer and many many character faults.
Honestly I don't understand why people are like "RE4 > RE4:Re 🤡" or "RE4:RE > RE4 🤡", it is just a different way to experience the game, the only thing I prefer from the OG than the remake is Ada's voice acting, but overall that is it. They aren't going to be 1:1, and I am not entirely sure why people expected that.
People has a very bad habit of thinking that a Remake should completely replace the original version, when its not, that is the Remaster work. With that mentality, if something of the Remake does not convince you , well bad luck, that sector is ruined as you are not gonna play the OG again. I feel I don't have to explain why this mentality is completely garbage.
RIGHT??? currently finished the remake but now I'm enjoying the previous version, it's a different experience for sure tho both are good in their own ways
I get it's a toxic mindset in general, but there is a reasoning behind it (or at least this is my reasoning), if new generations are gonna experience these games is good to give them an experience that can match the original, that way you can be content that they enjoyed this new version the same way you enjoyed the older version, some games just aren't good enough to be remastered due some severe aging issues, like the original RE2, most people won't even try to get far in the game as soon as they notice the tank controls, which is why the remake was more than necessary, of course in RE4's case I didn't think it was that necessary but if they're gonna do it at least they should make it an experience worth it, not like RE3, I just feel bad for the people who will grow up with that version of the game because of how much of a downgrade it is to the original, they just won't see what was so cool and intimidating about Nemesis, so yeah that's why I think the comparisons between og and remake are a thing
Im enjoying the remake so far currently on my 3rd play through though Im sad of the removal of certain area’s like the Lava room in the castle and the Novistador’s first encounter supposed to be in the castle prison! Of course the mighty U3 cave fight and the laser room. I feel like Luis should’ve still died by Sadler that way it would justify our hate for him! They’ve set Sadler aside on this remake till the very end… He’s only In annoying flashbacks! Also the original made sense after the Delago fight! Delago was tied to the boat on a rope harpoon in the remake after you kill delago the rope just magically disappears??? It was a good QTE to cut the rope in the original!
Playing my 4th playthrough. Luis and Ashley are better in remake. Salazar, Sadler is worse, i miss the radio talks. Krauser and Ada i feel ok, not better, not worse.
I know that RE is filled with ridiculous things but a lava room inside a castle is bit much lol it’s kind of just a weird small section in the og. Much like the ax room. But I feel like it’s not completely gone in the remake. The water room with the tar looks like it’s set up to go in flames; in a dlc maybe.
I absolutely Love the remake because of how much they’ve improved the storyline, new areas, character models, arsenal, atmosphere. However, that has its own downsides like how they gave Chief Mendez character which he actually didn’t need it makes him feel like one of those people who kill people and their reasoning is “because god told me and I’m following his words” and it’s really not a good thing considering how good he was in the original always silent and he would actually have you in fear. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE what they did to Ashely and it makes you actually want to protect her instead of being forced to with her annoying voice in the original and her stupid actions which always gets her in trouble, and the best thing about remake Ashley is how helpful she actually is, and ofcourse how beautiful she is. Another issue with the remake is the cut content/bosses like the U3 fight on the containers being entirely removed, the Verdugo boss not removed but the entire fight being pointless. In the original the fight had a build up to it, Ramon sending the Verdugo to fight Leon and the Verdugo POV creating suspense ( and it still scares me to this day ) but in the remake, he’s just there for absolutely no reason. While there was content which got cut I’m also happy about the new content that got added. Another problem is the Lack of Leon’s Iconic one liners, which would’ve been absolutely gold in the remake, such a missed opportunity I feel like, . Another one is that, ( this is just in my opinion ) is the lack of in-person interaction between Leon and Saddler/Ramon like in the original, for me there was always a sense of fear as to what the boss is going to do anytime they appear to have a small talk with Leon, in the remake it’s all pretty much just Flashbacks, i know it was made to make the story more dramatic and suspenseful but everyone who has played the og Re4 knows thats just over exaggerated. The voice acting is pretty good in the Remake they did an amazing job for Louis 10/10, Ashley also 10/10 ( im biased ) for Leon it’s a 6/10 considering he has a much serious persona in the remake as to his goofy and corny self in the og, for Ada ( might be controversial) its a 9/10 she did a great job, maybe people don’t like it and it’s probably not that good but its certainly not that bad to literally send the VA threats. and also they kind of messed up Leon’s personality in the remake, he’s way serious which ( imo ) nobody really likes and he’s way more brutal which is a good thing and a bad thing but the issue comes on the part when Leon meets Ada in the knife part where if you look at it, he straight up tried to kill her, if she didn’t dodged that she would’ve been dead. that my review for the game overall i give a 6.7/10 because of all the issues i had with this remake but overall it’s a nice remake.
OG voices were WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY better. I'm used to the Remake ones now but.....yeah they downgraded the voice acting for the remake, The Remake Salazar fight was way better though; not static and the music was on point. My favourite fight in the whole game
See fun little fact, they wrote the characters to be something like actual people this time so their voice acting accommodated! Weird right? It’s like things shouldn’t just stay exactly the same.
Voice acting is far better dude, much emotional, imagine being blind by nostalgia. U like the dude i saw who said that Re2r got worse Va acting than Original 😂😂😂
There's stuff I like and dislike about the remake, I don't think is good enough for me to consider it a better version of the game, but some changes are really good, I they're equals, not like RE2 where I think the remake stomps the original or RE3 where the remake sucks in comparison to the original, this time it has an equal amount of pros and cons
@@Mauldrom the remake removed and modified parts of the original game, some became less interesting and some enemies are missing, if you think the remake is just better you must be judging on a very superficial level
At least you're saying you prefer it as compared to the people blinded by nostalgia and trashing on the Remake for no valid reasons. Preference for nostalgia is definitely something I can understand
