Capcom raises the bar for what a good remake is and simultaneously preserves Resident Evil 4's legacy as a genre-defining experience and one of the greatest games of all time. #residentevil4 #re4 #gaming
@@MrLeGeNdCast That’s an absolutely terrible analogy, and doesn’t take into account a remix/ reissue vs. remaster. This isn’t just about graphical fidelity. The remake is making additions and changes to combat, stealth, exploration, puzzles, story, character development, art direction, sound design, pacing, and more. I hope you’re trolling, because that was a pretty dumb oversimplification, to say the least.
Who ever is responsible for RE2 remake and This game are Legends. They are like perfection, they know what they are doing with these games, with not adding to much , not taking away to much, not over doing anything, balancing the game perfectly. It's incredible what people can do to masterpieces, and make them even better. Dudes were living in a great time to be old school gamers.
RE2 Remake was a great game but it cut too much and was a bit rushed in some areas. It could’ve been even better. This game seems to of learned its lessons even better this time around.
Its like 15 years ago man, I was so hyped as a school going teenager now even as a 30 year old research scholar I am still absolutely hyped for this, pre ordered and waiting in anticipation !
It took 2 Remakes to recapture the magic and skill needed. Capcom learned from themselves. EA also captured lightning in a bottle with dead space. So I think we are in a good place.
And how long did it take for them learn? Because from 2012-2016 Capcom was on the verge of collapse, thanks to resident evil 6, Raccoon city and trying to make every game a Michael bay movie.
I thought 4 did this but it was very hard to pull off. This seems to make it easier to do. Stuff like this is why people hated RE6. It took away the horror.
They HAD to get this one right, and it looks like they did, thankfully. The original is a masterpiece, and to play an updated and refined version of it has me very excited.
I’m so Fn excited! 10’s coming from all over the place! From my first experience with RE in ‘96 to the first REmake, I didn’t even think RE could make me impressed again like that until RE4. Now here we are again and it’s glorious! Funny how we have to look backwards for quality.
This is shaping up to be some year for games, DS remake, Hi-Fi Rush, RE4 Remake, Metroid Prime Remaster and although not quite at the same standard I've enjoyed Wo Long too. And we've still got all the big hitters to come, Tears of the Kingdom, Starfield, FF16, Spiderman 2, and then you add Baldurs Gate 3, Armored Core 6, Jedi Survivor, Diablo 4, Silent Hill 2 Remake, Sea of Stars and supposedly Silksong. Probably forgot one or two. I hope you all have lots of money.
This review is way better than IGN's, but still feels so restricted! I hope in the next days we have better footage and the reviewers can talk more about changes, additions, etc.
I have beaten the original more times than any other game. I started it earlier this week, and it's still ridiculously fun, despite it feeling like an 18 year old game. Cannot wait for REmake 4.
@@BonesDMS4life About 20 times in the past 18 years. I've owned it on Gamecube, PS2, PS3, PS4, PS5, Xbox 360, Switch, and will own the remake on PS5. Stone cold classic of a game.
Engadgets review of this is hilarious. Literally everybody is giving this a 10 but their reviewer kept complaining about how difficult the late game is and had to change it to assisted mode. Massive skill issue and they bash the game for it. It’s a masterpiece, enough said. Great review GameSpot!!
If he want an easy game then he should play mario or something. RE4 Remake being harder to play as compared to the original is one of the best things in this remake.
@@EarthenGames yes we live in a world where people cannot fathom their own opinions, because they actually need other sources how great their game is. Sheep world
@@Peer165 watched a 4k video review on my lg c1 it looks crisp the demo was of an old build I'm willing to bet the controller issues with the series x has been solved also.
I’m not sure if it was ever mentioned anywhere, even for the original, but I really like their creative choice of replacing the classic zombies with Las Plagas. They resemble zombies but also still retain a level of intelligence too, making it feel familiar yet all the more a threat.
The only spoiler I wanna know is regarding the TMP in the demo. Is it still there in the actual game? Do you still have to drop everything first to get access to that area (that would be dumb imo)? Do you get access but there’s other stuff down there and the TMP comes later?
I was about to buy it day 1, but the fact that separate ways isn't in the base game is a huge deal breaker to me, I'll wait until the Gold version is released because I don't want to pay full price and those DLC
Hit the brakes a little...we havent even gotten RE4R non its DLC and we are asking for RE5R? Live in the moment, lets enjoy RE4R and our sweet time with it.
Yes but the button mapping for it leaves a lot to be desired. I've tried changing it a few times but it's not feeling right. I need down and X and it's not an option, at least in the demo.
Can some one cam help me ? I dont know what to buy. Re 2 remake for 20€ or Re 4 remake for 50€ is it really worth paying more for re 4 or I should buy re 2. And why ?
I have only played a little bit of RE3 on my Playstation one maybe 20 years ago, and have no experience with any of the RE games (because I've been too scared lol). What would anyone recommend me to start with? I've always heard RE4 was a masterpiece but never got a chance to play the original.
I played it couple time back in college everytime i came back to my home (from different city) i dont mind play it again. I hope there is added content..
@@Enclosure_2k exactly what I said there has never been a better video game remake than the resident evil 1 remake for GameCube again like resident evil 4 pioneered the first person perspective resi 1 remake pioneered the remaking games thing as a whole it’s arguably the gold standard people should look at when considering what a true remake is not to be confused with reimagining and remastering which some people still mix up now until this day. Whenever someone wants to define a proper remake of a game they should look to resi 1 remake as the definitive answer. Best game in the resident evil series still to this day.
I remember playing RE4 on the Wii and being completely blown away, I have a PS5 now and bought the steelbook version a little over a month ago but have been too busy to even play it as of tomorrow night I look forward to sitting down and replaying this masterpiece that after playing metal gear solid on the ps1 I didn’t think a game could top that, wish me luck
I would love to see Capcom remake the original RE game and RE0 with this new format. It would be AMAZING to be able to own RE’s 0 through 4 all on one generation of console
