Another great Leon vs. Chris moment at the end there when Leon encouraged Ashley... Chris would've probably just told her to stay out of it (despite already being infected) or, in a more amusing take, shared his workout regime and protein goals so she can suck it up and git stronk.

Agreed. I have always said it. Chris was never a hero, he has always just been a warrior character of Resident Evil. But Leon has always been the true hero of Resident Evil. Chris fights like nothing exists beyond the enemy. That’s why his life is riddled with loss of people important to him. Be it his team mates, Jill(nearly) or even piers. He is fuelled by negative emotions like revenge, anger, hatred, mistrust etc. Leon on the other hand fights like their is nothing more important than saving people and if he has to kill villains on the way to save them then so be it. His priority is always saving lives. He is fuelled by positive emotions protecting, saving, helping, love, friendship, camaraderie etc. Chris selfishly walks the path of destruction. Leon selflessly walks the path of preservation. They are the exact opposites. Capcom created them that way. That is why if I were to choose one of them to save me, I would always choose Leon in a heartbeat.

The gangs reaction to those arachnids/scorpions is almost exactly how I react to finding a very large spider in my kitchen late at night. There is slightly less gunfire at my house, but the squeals of "Run away!!! are just as loud. 😫

In the original Resident Evil 4 it's mentioned in a couple of documents that one of Salazar's ancestors sealed away the las plagas parasites underneath his castle. The las plagas had survived all this time as spores and were inhaled by the villagers hired to excavate them and were reborn inside the bodies of the villagers.

Actually, (spoilers for those who didn't read the files at Mendez Manor) Los iluminados injected Las plagas on the villagers using Luis' Grandpa's death as a scapegoat under the pretense of being a cure for what killed him. The workes under the castle were outsiders hired to mine the amber wich infected them with eggs of las plagas.

And either Andy or Mike said: "I don't know what you're talking about." You guys were commenting through the part where Leon had just said this was a terrible greeting after 6 years! Merchant is his last name, like Natalie Merchant. Being a vendor is his profession. You know how in the military people call you by your last name? Same thing. I don't know his first name, though.

I have to say, I don't mind the new actor for Ada. Her performance wasn't perfect, an extra reading here or there might have helped. Some of the lines just don't match with the facial expressions. It seems to me like Ada is mostly having a good time and I do wish the voice conveyed that a bit more. But yeah. Overall, I'd rate the performance pretty high. I was definitely affected by the tonal difference between the two actors at first. But now I'm used to it 😊

I could be wrong but I believe that's more a fault from the voice director or whoever reviews the recordings and asks for more takes. It would be the voice actor's fault if they couldn't capture the range needed for the character but being a few takes short isn't primarily on the voice actor. (Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong on that, I wouldn't want someone to get bad press undeservedly)

I just feel like voice actors get lots of flack as the most "visible" part of the character portrayal so they get all the criticism when a fan favourite character doesn't come out just right. Not worth blaming anyone specific at this stage unless you have information I don't but it's just worth acknowledging there's plenty of reasons why the take they went with wasn't great (more just to be informative to other people who might think that way than to say you were doing that lol).

I think Ada was just flirting ... I like that Leon's a little harder on her in the remake than the original. I love her and their relationship and it creates some juicy tension to have Leon hold his ground against her. Anyways. Nice playing! You handled the spiders pretty well.
