I’m anxious to play the new remake. But I was about 29 when the original came out and looking back now it’s still looks amazing for what it was. And it can be imitated, but never duplicated.😊
lucky that you played the originals, I was to scared as a kid to play them and now that I'm older and I'm not scared to play them the originals are too dated for me so I enjoy the remakes.
Sorry ,I don't want to offend anyone but in my opinion the face is not fit for Leon (although the face model maybe good-looking but doesn't look like Leon). They should've stayed with the original look of the characters and just update/enhance the graphics (face, outfits, environment etc) as per new standards. Sorry again.

For someone who hasn't played 4. From 2,3 to 4. The changes are uncanny. I'm not saying it's bad but it's a complete different change in terms of style and horror.

The remake is a huge step up from the original in terms of atmosphere, sound design, and art direction. It’s also great to see them adding new areas, side quests, combat mechanics, stealth, and more. I can’t wait to play this!
the og as a better color palette that is suited more for a horror game, the remake has too much contrast that causes black crush, too much blue tint and everything looks wet ans shiny, looks very bad to me honestly, its like someone put those "reshades" on it or something and it has this fan-made look in some degree

The new lighting creates a very effective and tense juxtaposition between light and dark, and the expanded color palette makes the game look more like a Victorian painting come to life (which actually fits the game’s setting). I LOVE the original, but everything was overexposed and lacked detail in the environments compared to the remake. The remake makes the locations feel more lived in and inhabited, and gives the locales more of a historical context. This is crucial for environmental storytelling, especially when it concerns the backstory of the characters and Las Plagas infection. The original looks great when at its best, but unfortunately when at its worst the limited color palette is reminiscent of an early Call of Duty game. There are even buildings in the original that are completely empty and fail to convey the historicity of that area. The remake looks great man, stop shitting on everything to an irrational degree.
@@giacomoford1572 The remake also has new areas to explore, a new parry system, new enemies, stealth mechanics, new weapons, expanded village section, environmental strategies, weather effects, side quests, and more. Resident evil 2 and 3 remake didnt gave me that impression at all, they looked amazing, here it doesnt even look like the Re Engine, its full of crap shaders and it doesnt look clean
No sé por qué pero me dieron más ganas de jugar el original que el remake. Tal vez sea la nostalgia pero casi 20 años han pasado y la entrega del 2005 se sigue viendo genial.
Pues ambos juegos estarán de la mano para jugarlos siempre que uno quiera. No tiene que ser para todos... Del mismo modo que el Re4 original no es para todo fan de la saga, éste no será la excepción y no por eso significa que será mal juego como paso con Re4 original que por lo mismo que fue despreciado por la nostalgia de los RE1, 2 y 3 de los 90's.

And the remake is essentially a last-gen game. It is made to be still able to run on PS4 and Xbox one. Imagine how much better RE4 would look if it was current-gen exclusive.
You are using the HD re-release (pc, ps4, xbox) of RE4 as refference, which was a (very) bad port, missing all shader and post processing effects. Either use the original GC/wii version (via emulation) or use the HD project with post processing restore patches active if you want to show how original RE4 looks.

Shiiiiiiiet! The changes to the enviroments look amazing, I really hope they don't triffle too much with the game's signature of cheesiness and humour though.
I couldn't get into the original because I can't stand how janky and clunky the camera and aiming is. I can't wait for the remake as it looks so much better and will solve that issue. Capcom are amazing at remaking a game, rockstar could learn a thing or two from them.
I'm enjoying playing RE4R and the details and graphics looks amazing, even though the loading textures load slow on ps4 pro it's still a good game. RE4 OG still looks great after 19 years especially on PC having the HD Project installed and also on ps4.
To prepare for resident evil 4 remake I've been playing RE4 VR on the quest 2 lol I really hope they make a VR mode for this. If not, the modders got me lol

The whole game is a absolute masterpiece from start to finish best RE game ever I never played original before only remake I played all RE games just not RE 4? But RE 4 remake is bye far the best game I've ever played 3rd play through already haha i love it hope they remake RE 1 as that be a absolute masterpiece again make it like this a long game not like RE 2 or 3,,, 4-6 hours long so poor disappointment they were!! Far too short especially RE 3
God Ashley was such a pain in the arse in the original, I mean excush my frenchie, right? But I just couldn't stand the girl, she was constantly depending on you to do everything for her, then there was that obnoxious and "nasaly" tone of voice. I mean it was really, really bad, glad to see her changed at least in what it seems to be a mechanically sound way.

I have to confess that I'm not very impressed with the remake, but I can't say exactly why. The difference is noticeable, but the original already looks good enough in my opinion. And honestly, I expected more from this "new generation" of consoles.
I had the same opinion and after playing both I can say that the remake improved immensely in a lot of areas like the story and gameplay. Only thing I hate is how they took away some of the cheesy lines and made Leon sound a little too try hard
Llevo pensando esto unos cuantos meses, y me alegro (porque me quita todo hype) : me esperaba mucho más de este lavado de cara / remake a nivel gráfico. Pero que mucho más. A mi no me parece digno tras ver lo bueno que es RE 7 de 2017... y estamos en 2023. Un poco rácano con ciertas animaciones y escenarios en mi opinión.

Opino lo mismo. Después de ver el nivel gráfico del 8... este juego no parece del 2023. Al menos con mods se pueda quitar el feo filtro ese de Instagram que tiene pero no está al nivel del remake de Silent Hill.
Me encanta espero que no requiera usar Raytracing como en RE 2 para tener buenos reflejos ya que en el 2 sin RT estaba súper bugeados en el salón de comisaría Así más gente lo disfruté
Al fin veo a alguien decirlo, el RT de RE es una estafa, los reflejos anantes se notan y sin RT te arruinan los reflejos a proposito con un hormigueo para venderte un "RT" basura
I have only one wish. That some day, somehow, that one of these RE4 remakes and reboots and re-ports and revisions will include the Dolby Pro Logic 2 soundtrack from Gamecube (and I believe ps2). Every other version I know of had complete trash for surround sound.
Man it's so sad. I've played all those ps2 generation games back then games/consoles were somewhat affordable post ps3 era the prices of consoles/games have increased so exponentially I now watch others play my fav. Games on RU-vid rather than playing them😭😭
It didn´t need a remake, maybe a remaster and not even that, the Gamecube version looks great, the PC versión too. They would rather fix RE3 or bring back Outbreak, Code Veronica... There are better options.
Me lleve una sorpresa grande con este gameplay así de la nada. Pero estoy fascinada con todo lo mostrado 👌✨ no tengo ni una sola queja. Me encantó que podamos usar el sigilo para vencer al garrador, ya de por sí era complicado llamar su atención o que se diera la espalda para pegarle un escopetazo xD. No quiero llenarme de expectativas pero el juego cada vez las supera.
A pesar que RE4 envejeció como el vino. El remake no se queda atrás. Las novedades que trae como el parry con el cuchillo me resultan muy interesantes y el combate mejorado tampoco se queda atrás.
the re4 gameplay sems to be from a hd mod, or such the original had muddy textures, but this clearly is another game where you clearly see diminishing returns. i don´t mean to say that thers no difference there clearly is. better modles and such on the remake but what makes the biggest difference i feel is the lightning, and such effects. making it more dynamic. for a remake it kind of looks kind of meh at least graphically. not bad as such, just kind of average. 'i kind of miss the time when i actually get really impressed by new graphics. nowadays it´s just kind of expected. it´s gotten to a point where many games don´t really look that different from each other. lik in this case remove leon in some scenes and add the guy from evil within, unless you´ve seen this you could have though it was a different game...
