@@zentozanto2118 I really don't think we need a 5 remake. 5 imo was kindof the start of the downfall and did nothing special. That's just personal opinion of course, though.
Man, I love it when objects in the environment react when you shoot or interact with them. It's a seemingly small touch, but makes the game feel so much more polished and satisfying.
It's also two different teams of my understanding is correct.. when you look at the re2 remake.. you find a lot of that attention to detail in the re4 remake as well.. it was one of the things that I really noticed with village in how lacking it was by comparison to all the little things.. also didn't have a lot of the big things but, also missed all the little things as well.. I don't even think it had wounds when you shoot something even.. versus the incredibly detailed Gore system from the second one.. clearly one team is more on it than the other.. pretty much everything about village just felt really cheap.. and just like why did you spend so much time on so many things that just aren't going to matter versus the thing that you do the majority of the time..
Well that’s because he is already a molded human hybrid (which is let’s face it his plot armor in the lore) but difference is he is just a normal civilian, an average Joe who just happens to be in a bad place in a bad time, he doesn’t have the skillsets like the main protagonists do such as Leon, Chris and many others etc. not to mention the secrets of his wife Mia who once happens to be a worker of Wesker’s former organization babysitting a BOW named Eveline
I think that the re4 sound design is much better than village. I think the guns dont sound very impactful and sound a little tinny in village. In re4 they sound like they hit a lot harder and are more satisfyin sounding. A great example of this is the shotguns.
One was intended to be seen through a first person perspective during design. That changes things because it puts focus on different things made more apparent by the view point.
Maybe just an opinion but capcom really push their max effort on re4 remake maybe re village is just experimental results and getting a good feedback by a lot of fans just to prepared them for re4 remake remember when capcom delayed the released on re4 remake until 2023.
Idk, but every time I play village, I fall in love all over again, the graphics, the environment, some goofy dialogues, and not the best storytelling, but I still love it
Yup really solid sequel. A lot of haters complain it's too different or isn't RE... well a lot of the same was said about 7 but over time it's grown to be revered as one of the best games in the series. We are talking about a franchise with what? over 30 games and like a dozen main line entries? well yes, developers need to take risks and expand the lore.
I feel like RE8 is more comfortable playing in first person. The 3rd person camera feels very stiff. I know the game is trying its best to hide Ethan’s face , but the stiff camera doesn’t feel right. Of course , this is just my personal opinion.
IMO village is really meant to be played in first person perspective even though capcom was gracious enough to give us an official 3rd person mode. The game was just built to be played in first person and it feels kind of broken in third person.
I like 3rd person but it DOES feel weird sometimes.... mainly when the camera gets too close to something then suddenly Ethan's body looks like it is a pasted on overlay from the scale changes.
While it’s impressive that there’s so much detail in the shooting of things in 4, it’s also important to remember that bookshelves breaking is an important mechanic that had to be brought back from RE4…it’s not them adding detail because the game is more polished, it’s them requiring detail for the game. Certainly it looks cool, but I think it’s unfair to shit on Village, which had a lot of love and care that went into it…it was just a more ambitious project than RE4 remake…which is fantastically designed, but doesn’t have to try as hard to be good and unique…because it was handed a golden goose that ensured that they would have had to try to fumble the ball with
Great video! Resident Evil 4 has just been released and players are already discovering many insane glitches and strategies. There's still so much to uncover. Speaking of which, in my latest episode of the original Resident Evil 4 series on mobile, I almost got lost in the labyrinth. Keep up the fantastic work!
One thing I like that Ethan developed on was his guarding In RE7, his block would always break when he got hit while guarding In RE8, his block can't be broken by even the strongest of attacks
Remember in RE7, he was just a regular man who had no shooting training. While in RE8, he got trained by Chris Redfield to defend himself, unknownly that he got infected by mold since the beginning of RE7 after Jack Baker stomped him hard.
Brother re8 was built with a different format involved it was built for first person not third person and besides that re4 had 10+ years of ideas to improve on it and it’s the latest in the game series obviously it’s gone look better
thats no excuse as to why shooting random objects cant shatter or at least have ragdoll physics and fly away, thats just lazy game design. no point sucking off the company for not including it, games 20+ years ago had that shit in them
@@brucesnow7125 Ya it really does they did a great Job. So many games seem to be lacking a good amount of physics these days it's nice to see a game that isn't so static.
Really felt like some of the details on Village were not "quite" there. Surely a lot of compromises were made in development to get it out. I still think it's an either A or B tier RE game but if they had tightened the gunplay and some of the other little details and fleshed out some of the leaner parts of the game could have been an S tier.
@Ahmed Hamm Very true modern devs cut way too many corners. It's crazy because a basic physics system just makes a game so much better and more immersive. 90 percent of games these days are static which is inexcusable because there are many older games that had great physics systems on much weaker hardware.
The voodoo type shit exist in revelation 2 .. I felt a little revelation 1&2, biohazard and village vibes.. all good games but re4 is looking like the best to me
There needs to be far more physics based destruction in modern action games. Something like gears of war could really benefit visual from things falling apart under fire
When you think about it, Village is just a copy of RE4 on the storylines: -Protagonist is going to a village in Europe to safe a girl -The village is dominated by a cult with virus that infected them -Protagonists got infected by the virus (Except Ethan is already infected by mold since RE7) and have to survive through it while dying -Protagonists go to big mansion and fighting the owner of big mansion (Leon has to fight Salazar while Ethan has to fight Lady D + her "daughters") -They got attacked by bugs, big fish, hybrid creatures and etc. -They meet friendly merchants who have bizzare appareance but somehow they're the least dangerous person in village and somehow can teleport and sell them weapons -They meet old "friends" who just annoyed them (For Leon, Krauser and for Ethan, Evelyn even with just few minutes) -They fight the cult leaders in the end in their mutated form -The village got destroyed except while Leon was safe and sound, Ethan sacrificed himself
Defense and parry shouldn’t even be a comparison since village is build for first person and later enable third person but re4 is build for third person from the ground up. Same with explosion. Imagine your camera turn around whenever you use explosion. Village still allow you to first person.
It's a non fair comparison. RE8 Village was planned to be played in firt person, so obviously the interactions with the chacter will look worse in third person, cause' that was added latter!
Being a super fan of RE4 og and RE4 remake, I am beyondd excited to play RE village for the first time. my last RE besides re4 remake was re5 way back when
A lot of times you see detail features striped out of games as more are made in the series but this time they pushed for more. There are even aspects of RE4 remake that have almost an immersive sim quality.
Wow I thought the RE8 flashbang effect might be a little cooler looking but rest goes to RE4, both games were pretty great in their own ways and just glad Capcom gave RE4 a proper remake.
I've got to say like right off the bat, just from like the first few minutes I played of the re2 remake, versus village.. it's pretty clear that the segment of team that does the remakes as.. like well there's a lot of things I wish they would do as well.. they get detail way better than the mainline team which is really disappointing, I just remember going from those like top of the line almost Gore effects from the remake, to village where I don't even think.. I don't even think there was a hit marker, like a bullet hole or anything like that on the corpses much less any sort of Gore.. I've been putting off playing it until it can get modded into a good state but, it's like.. not a good sign when things like that are not a priority at all.. and even worse really when you have a game that is featured in VR, is a survival horror game, especially for number seven by the way where you do a lot of sneaky, and you can't even lean around a corner or into a door or something like that.. but the actual mechanic in the engine exists cuz it's got VR support LOL.. but your actual input is, like like your actual mechanical input for your player control is less than you had in the original half-life.. and as frustrating as it is in the re4 remake to not be able to jump over a pile of shoes but be able to jump right out of a window as long as the contextual prompt comes up that's so much further ahead of where the mainline team is at LOL.. and it's a weird consistency where you're just kind of sitting there like.. these are diverging further and further apart as time goes on, and it's it's very clear where the team priorities are or are not and.. it's just like yeah whoever's doing the remake team props to y'all.. I'm going to be extremely disappointed if I can't use the slide or the teeter daughter in the remake of six mind you but.. at least y'all have some basic standards about what makes something even moderately feel good.. although I really wish the contextuals would die forever as a concept in favor of actual manual input but anyhow.. for the mainline team.. please, y'all are kind of embarrassing yourself.
I really hope they make some insane improvements to the physics in RE games, it would make the VR versions just insanely good. Being able to pick up and throw objects as distractions or hit enemies with them or even block attacks with them etc. The engine is so good graphically, this does seem like a step in the right direction but hopefully the completely update the way their objects are made and use some kind of material based weight, similar to material based lighting/reflections on things.
The VR version of Resident Evil 4; remake is going to be an incredible experience ... Sony really should have had it as a launch game (and Half-Life: Alyx)
Literally the same game but still loved it! So glad they added the 3rd person mode to 8 so I could finally experience it. Hope they do the same to 7 some day
Who prefers 3rd over 1st person.. village is like a masterpiece while 8 looks like its cheaper version man.The point in village and re7 is not to shiot around but to try to survive. Its far more realistic and ive been to the village they copied its like you are actualy inside of it in real life..
Having just started playing RE this year; starting with RE 2, then villages, then RE4… Villages is by far the best. RE 4 mainly sucks because - u gotta protect this dumb chic the WHOLE TIME. Seriously, THIS is the game you guys all love so much? This chic is always interrupting my gameplay and getting kidnapped. Y’all must have some white knight syndrome dreaming of saving a woman 😆 Village - more mysterious vibe. Multiple places for complete immersion: village, CASTLE, secret passages, river monster, dollhouse, WEREWOLF, cemetery - it is the ultimate game with every scary thing you could every dream up - more interesting secrets - 10x more creative & shocking enemies - most importantly, no dumb chic to protect the ENTIRE freaking time
RE4 just has insane chad energy, the original was so ahead of everything else it's easily a contender for one of the most influential and best games of all time. Then the remake of the game comes along and it's easily the best of the modern RE games by far, and it does this all WITHOUT replacing the original which is still a masterpiece worth playing in itself. RE4 is actually, quite literally, built different.
This is a solid video you did what crowb couldnt make a fair comparison video that does what it sets out to do. Village is a diet resi 4 in my eyes to get into non detail based stuff Village has a distinct vatiety problem the lycans are great they have good ai and they definitely are great enemies the. But some enmies feel super similar and i dont feel like some enemies are different. It doesnt help that ethans block makes the stradegy of fighting certain enemies tbe same. Its not so bad that you get bored and quit the game but it is noticable. There is no real system that encourages having different builds. After you get the a better weapon your current one says lemi go. In mercenaries its a kind of cool idea like shouod i save up with the lemi to get the syg. But In single player its the game telling you to not pick favorites because weapobs are replaceable. This feels like its their to make you feel like your gettibg stronger because early game the lemi tickles the lycans. In terms of the villains the best are lady demitresc like legitimately, heisenburg. Dolly was mid, fish guy was mid, mother miranda was mid. Like the bosses werent bad but as villains re4 had a better more memorable cast. There are a few other things 4 does better. The caslte section felt like capcom had gold in thier hands but forgot. Village is also quite generous like exploration feels good even if its streamlined but considering how generous it can be with curency theres less investment in collecting because in 4 im thinking man this will help me with this section. Sure in og it was liniar but in village theres less insentive because its so generous. Like the game doesnt have to be hard but if the game was less generous i woukd feel like collecting to upgrade would be worth investing more time in. The suit case also is a lot more generous on. btw comparing small details have a place. Crowb definitely gave these types of vids a bad name when he made that video. The video matches the title and it did a good job at comparing things it wasnt ubfair good job. Well made video
I do think the overall look, art direction, colour palette and world of Village is superior. I think it's one of the best realised Resident Evil locations ever. It's wonderful.
Yeah bro, feels so cold and hopeless. I hate how the resident evil 4 village sections takes place in the morning. Gives it too much of a warm bright feeling. Wish they had re4 set more so in the middle of the day so the sun wasn’t so bright
Resident evil 4: Mission: save a girl Location village, castle, island Has a merchant Has a great inventory system A village chief invulnerable to bullets unless he transforms Resident evil 8: Mission: save a girl Location: village, castle (idk what the last part is) Has a merchant Has a great inventory system A tall lady invulnerable to bullets unless she transforms
I have finished Village like 5 times in less then 3 hours. Its the one i finished the most in the series. RE 3 is still my Favorite RE game then comes RE 4.
They need to remake all the resident evil games.. I would love to at least see a revelation 1 remake and keep the underwater diving.. all resident evil games are fcking awesome 👏🏾
I really liked village, and still do, but one thing that bugs me is the sound balancing being off, whether it’s lines being delivered or the gun sound effects just not sounding quite right, maybe it’s just me being persnickety, but that was my big issue with the game
I actually prefer the way that you can jump over and off objects in village better. For example you can a lot in the re4 remake too but it usually requires a button prompt, even to jump off of a roof. Village you could just run those spots and automatically hop instead which made the gameplay feel more natural, at least to me. I do enjoy fighting the villagers of 4 but the lycans had an edge too with how they could reach you almost anywhere you went, even on top of a house, whereas the villagers can only do so with ladders or by throwing things
I think all of these games in RE engine got the same problem. Everything looks too static. Vegetacion specially in explosions, curtains, objects. In RE4 remake its looks better, but not perfect.
RE8 looks very good for an older game, RE4 REMAKE has good details although they are made with a different system although village has an advantage is that it has more terror than the remake and a story with a better plot.
I love how the game isnt even out yet and people already make false assumptions. It makes me sad how many people are fucking idiots."Better plot and more terror". Wait till you see the verdugo in the remake..
Bro you are in 2023!! Buy a ps5 come on!!that's why sometimes games games still like shit!! In the beginning re4 remake was a Ps5 only project, bus Always there Is someone in 2023 still Wanna play in PS4!!that s sound ridicolous!!the should have stop making games for PS4 since of start 2022!!re 4 remake Is good but if was Ps5 only i think It would be incredible, but Capcom Just listen the baby cries for ps4
