Hopefully they patch the frame rate drops in RE4, loading times in RE0 and RE1 and the bad frame pacing.

With the memory available to current consoles it should be easy to pre-load all adjacent rooms and then add an option to skip animations completely. Just lazyness.

@Walther Penne theres no such thing that cost performance for re4. revelations 2 is quite big 24gb compared to 12gb re4 and visually stunning, tho it was 30fps, revelations 1 was 60fps.. crapcom is being lazy assed and stop prorecting them

There are people that still complain that (optional) gyro aiming add nothing to a game because they don't know how good gyro aiming is because they think it's flailing your arms around with gesture controls like on the wii and shit on it before even trying it out. @@METR0lD Thats actually not true. The Wii version is closer to the ps2 version, which was graphically inferior. Also, i wouldnt mind the motion controls if they were optional, but they werent. The pointer controls made the game too easy imo. And it changed the feeling of the game from a tense, 3rd person shooter, to a more arcadey feel.

@@juliocalderon9801 In the case of RE4 HD versions, lower framerates ARE that bad because the game logic slows down. Any time you hit 54fps, the game runs at a literal 90% speed. This is an inherent flaw that originated from the PC port, which was the base version used for the PS4 and XBO versions.

RE4 Wii doesn't have gyro aiming. It uses the Wiimote infrared pointer. But, yes, best version to play. I was looking forward to the Switch version, but not having the gyro aiming is a big turn-off.

Pariah Mentality I’m more upset with the price for most of these older third party games being ported to the switch. It’s ridiculous how much some of these games cost. I mean $30 for each of these re ports really? It puts these versions of the game at an automatic disadvantage because they cost more even though the overall performance is usually worse.

The only new game they released on the Switch is Mega Man 11, they cheap out on cartridges all the time, they overprice their ports, they dont improve upon them, they pull games out collections just to make Switch users overpay for each of them, they don't support Europe and UK at all, 80% of the stuff the Switch gets in US and Japan - Europe and UK don't get. Those include almost all of their physical releases, Mega Man 11 Amiibo and etc.

A CPU OC to 1326MHz with sys-clk removes the blood spatter from the northern door of the dining room in REMake. It would definitely help.

All of the modern ports have a giant dead zone in the middle of the stick. It does make it extremely difficult to aim. The pc version with a mouse is not bad but it takes some getting used to. The game was clearly designed for the cube controller and doesn't play well with any of the ports.

Wii Edition was incredible. Quite possibly the best game ever made.

Why would you overcook your switch

The digital age has blessed you thanks to timezones, I got a Japanese PSN account just to be able to download the DMC5 demo early and almost felt bad for not going digital to get Smash Ultimate early. As long as the release comes out in all English regions at the same time (and there is no censorship), Australia is best in the short term.

Using an Aussie account to purchase software from digital storefronts a good 12 to 20 hours sooner than your specific timezone's availability is an old trick, people have been doing that since the PSP Go was a big thing - God I loved my PSP Go. I watched full seasons of TV shows on that little thing. Anyway, I live in Western Australia so I reap the benefits of our advanced timezone by default. Not all good news down here though, considering it wasn't that long ago we had no proper R18+ adult classification for games, causing countless classics to be neutered to protect our delicate Aussie sensibilities. Thank Christ we dealt with that clusterfuck a few years back. Now if only new release games weren't $80 on the lower end, I'm sure they're still more like $90 if you're silly enough to buy from EB.

The small dips DO NOT add up to the "old feel", because the old game played perfectly at 30fps, and if it dipped, it became slow, remember? Just like arcade games, and that I would prefer. Instead the Switch version, at least to me, is unplayable, but not really because of the "dips", but because of the judder and bad frame pacing.

it only allows u to use off tv play on the gamepad with the wii remote to use it as a tv but u cant use the gamepad itself like a classic controller.

Tried that set up a few weeks ago and got pretty far into the game, despite the low resolution on the game pad It was a pretty fun experience, combined with headphones

I'm very happy having paid that. Because I've never played it before. And I'm loving it. I guess if you already have it on something else there's no point, but it's a great game. I'm only up to the church bit but I really am enjoying it way more than I thought, and I can play it in bed, or on the train, which is a big bonus to me.

And I don't know what he's on about with the blue medallions being hard to aim at. I'm pretty shit at that kinda thing normally, like trying to do headshots in other games, but those bits are easy in this with a handgun

The only problem is that the button mapping would still be designed for the more traditional diamond layout that the Switch has, which means, for example, shooting would be on the Y button instead of A like it should be. It might fix the deadzone issue, but the button mapping would basically negate the benefit.

@@Daigon95 The GPU in the Wii U was, but the processor was derivative of the original Wii's. The switch also is bottlenecked by its shitty CPU. The GPU at full clocks is better than the 360 by quite a bit, but it's never gonna get there.

The Gamecube version uses letterboxed widescreen so the resolution on that system is closer to 640x240 than it is to 640x480.

That hasn't stopped other shooters on Switch from adding them.

Then release the Wii 1 year later with hardware equivalent to Wii U (again, the tech was there), except for the built in screen.
