I love Resident Evil 5. I agree: the saga must return to the survival horror, but the game is beautiful, entertaining, and the cooperative offline makes the game way better. And of course, Wesker is an awesome villain.
Re5 was a very good game because it came after re4 which was HOT at the time so it definitely captures that what’s left of its momentum. Because of how the world changed especially with the introduction of social media somehow LITERALLY EVERYTHING changed. I guess developers just have more connections and more people approaching them about new projects unlike before where if you got a chance you worked everything for it
That's appropriate for this game and also RE 4 cause the enemies are infected by a parasite (Las Plagas) that makes them act very violent and on their primal insticts but their are basically brain dead even though they keep their human intelligence they can't control their actions, but they are not really dead so the only way they could find peace in this state is the eternal sleep (when you kill them in the game)
I didn´t. I was just thinking about what it took to make it to the end. Blast trough Majinis, Executioner, chainsaw Majinis, Gaitling Majinis, Bu-ki Chivas, dogs, Popokarimu, El Gigante, crocs, mutated Irwing, small spiders in caves, Oversized crab, big cockroaches with talons, lickers, Duvalias, Wesker, manipulated Jill and Uroboros(M-kono and Aheri versions). ,,More and more I found myself wandering if its worth fighting for. A future without fear? Yeah its worth it.
I cried when this game could have been a better RE game if stays to its true survival horror, goodbye Resident Evil from 2005......Goddamn you Resident Evil 4, you ruined everything.
Wow, this is amazing. It adds a whole new layer to the grave situation in the game, and the plight of the regular people caught up in the madness. It's a crime that they hid this so deep in the game.
I think the true horror, that the song is implying, is that those villagers are still very much alive and sentient - they just have absolutely no control of their bodies due to the parasites taking control of their central nervous system.
Check out the Resident Evil 4 credits sometimes. It shows the story of how the villagers get infected and how their children die ect... Puts things into a new perspective.
once the parasite has completely taken over their body. it's over for them it can no longer be removed since it was a full grown parasite that was used to infect them. Leon on Re:4 was lucky enough to completely manage to remove the parasite and survive the operation.
2:30 always gives me teary eyes, still remember the days they promote the scene where Chris is in front of Jill's grave, I was so sad back then, this game is so underrated.
@safnhuo I personally think Chris is a very interesting character because of all the things you mentioned, and the fact that he still carries on his ideals of trying to save people and make the world a better place despite all of that, which are the characteristics of a true hero.
I looked at this game as the finale to my favorite game series as we finally got to see Wesker, the main villain of the series, meet his end, and Resident Evil 6 comes along a few years later and just undermines everything.
RE5 still has a great place in my heart. One of the ones to really make me gasp when you first discover that underground civilization and there's this big view of the temples and everything underground. Still completely blows me away. Now I have the urge to play it again. And also, this is the best of all the RE ending songs.
Seriously, people don't like Sheva? I love her as a character, she is one of my favorite RE protagonists, too bad we didn't get any games with her in anymore.
Might not be survival horror , but jesus christ , Chris is such a testosterone badass in this game. Unpopular opinion , but i really think this is one of the best RE games out there.
The game and song is so relevant now, with the Ebola in Africa, and all the war and crisis in the World right now. I don't think they knew when they made the game it would Come true in a few years :O

I love 5 and 6 because I always play them with a friend in coop. Alone they’re kind of dull though. I can see why the old-school fans don’t like those games too much
I used to play this game with my dad, it was a great introduction to it. It wasn't too difficult, great villains and young me went ballistic for boulder punching.

Resident Evil 5 for me was better than 4th. I know, crazy. But I honestly feel that way. I have finished the 5th game many many times! 4th only 2 times. I really liked the co-op aspect of this game. But the mechanics were really fun and well made. Gameplay was kept fresh through levels and it didn't bog down at any point. Only thing I kind of disliked was the gun-toting enemies and the story could have been better... but hey it's Capcom game, story NEARLY always sucks. I feel like the first Resident Evil was the only game with decent story anyhows.
This game is so underrated. I can understand why RE fans hated It because It's not really a horror game by any means but why can't they just appreciate the game for everything else? I've played through Resident Evil 5 twice and I loved It. As along as If It had fun fast paced gameplay, tight controls, great story with interesting characters and loads of replay value I didn't care If Resident Evil 5 was lacking in the survival horror aspect.
I have a lot of nostalgia with Resident Evil 5. I remember when I first started getting into the RE games and i had a huge bias towards RE5 just because it was more action than horror. But then I actually decided to play it one day and it ended up being one of my favorite entry’s in the franchise. In terms of its story, it’s as B-movie as the RE series gets and it’s gameplay is way more focused than RE4 in my opinion. I know I will get a lot of shit for saying that but it’s true, RE5 did the action elements way better than RE4 in my opinion.
Of course it's Resident Evil... the franchise as a whole has just taken a different turn, and personally it is one I like. I do miss that creeping tension sometimes, though. That was always a thrill.
She is... doesn't keep her from wasting half of my freaking ammo, picking up random unnecessary items and occasionally pushing me right into things I am trying to kill. Still, I agree - she is much more helpful than some AI.
Sometimes it seems right to say that this game was the last numbered Resident Evil that Capcom was really inspired. RE7 and Village are awesome, but not like the franchise history from RE 1 to RE5. There is passion and care in RE5 production and conception. Fidelity with Resident Evil lore. I miss this.
defo Capcom WAS inspired making 7 and 8 because the BIO series is turning into shit after 6 especially 8 that game feels like a Japanese Capcom game like old school Capcom/BIO 1-4 feels
+Damian Christensen My buddy said the same thing. He said it looked more like an actual survival horror game in it's presentation, that the Majini would have acted more aggressively at night (and there would be a day-night cycle), Sheva was actually part of the local milita, etc.
They had a great setting, great characters, big potential but the butthurt fans had to ruin everything. Honestly the game isnt bad its just not great either,this song could match the more dramatic end of Wesker. They were like ok shoot him and boom, thats it. Come on jill and chris...
Man, just beat this game for the first time recently. So satisfying to finish it. I already wanna replay it! I actually played it on an old Xbox 360 thanks to some one of my Mom's shitty boyfriends weirdly enough. So, uhhh, thanks Kevin for introducing me to thr Resident Evil series in the weirdest way possible. I mean, sure it's got it's flaws and in most ways doesn't stack up to Resident Evil 4, but this was still a damn good game. I'm sure of in the middle with the Resident Evil catfight with Horror and Action. RE4 was the perfect balance, while RE5 went towards more action with small elements of horror here and there. I'd say RE6 was where Capcom knew they needed to fix the series and they did. Look at where we are now! Back to the horror with perfectly balanced bits of action and there. RE5 in the long-run helped Capcom realize what they needed to do to bring things back...the memes for this game are GREAT! 😆

@TricellCorp Ada probably gave Wesker some of her period in a test tube to fool him. No but, seriously I think just maybe sometime after the island exploded he probably went back to retrieve it or stole it from one of saddlers minion's corpses. Oh! but rememeber she gave him the samples in assigment Ada! I almost forgot, hope that helped.
You got decent graphics, HUGE bosses, meh villains, disgusting scenes, and a forgettable score tbh. Fun co-op experience and a decent game otherwise but not as good as 5 imo.
Resident Evil 4 maybe my favorite game, but I'd rather play this game that re4. This is one of the most beautiful games I've ever played. And this song attests to that
The 360 will bring out the new chapter with Jill as a playable character sometime next year as well as the new costumes that were in the PC version for Chris and Sheva
@TricellCorp lol i know what you mean how he got the parasite is confusing but it will probably be explained in due time just like how a bit of weskers mysterious past was explained,like the first RESIDENT EVIL was explained by RESIDENT EVIL 0,and just like the new dlc desperate escape will explain how JILL and JOSH escaped together when they never even met before which is something that puzzled me at the end of RESIDENT EVIL 5 lol.
