Resident Evil 5 Switch Review - ANYONE ELSE WANT 7!?

Oh, my goodness, your review video is so much better than the other one I watched right before! I was going to give a rundown of all the reasons, but too many mounted, so I'll just note the biggest parts. You mentioned the additional content, and learning about that was the main reason I looked up a review for the Switch port in the first place, when the other review I watched didn't mention it at all (unless I'm daft/zoned out). You took into consideration the value, even for different regions (the other review didn't mention even one region's price). Your rhetoric actually served the purpose of better explaining to the uninitiated what you were trying to convey, making your review more accessible (I like your sense of humor more than the other reviewer, too). You actually went into _details_ about the controls (what they do and noting that they can be remapped & customized; in my opinion, one of the most important items to note when reviewing ports), unlike the other review I watched. You discussed the structure of the game (talking about how it's a series of kill-boxes), while the other reviewer didn't seem to understand some of the mechanics of the game, like inventory management. You went into more detail about how co-op works than the other review. You give actual numerical values on how the game runs. You broke down the numerical ratings into subcategories and wrapped it up in conclusion. Your review is so much better structured and more accessible for both savvy and the uninitiated; it somehow manages to be very professional while still having a casual and personal feel to it. You managed to do all of this better than the other reviewer with just a few minutes more of video.

Switch up is fast becoming one of my favourite channels to get reviews and information on the Nintendo switch. Great job guys keep it up

I remember this game back in my ps3 days, chris punching a huge rock in the final boss battle.

It’s a shame Capcom didn’t release these games separately on cartridge. I believe you have number 4 on the cartridge and 5+6 are downloads. Nice review guys, but Capcom are messing things up for physical game collectors.

5 & 6 are surprisingly good with the motion control Now I wish capcom will patch 4 with motion control, subtitles enable, mybe some auto action function and while at it please also change the image icon for 4 cuz it's weird without the resident evil text and ugly with Ashley picture in it 5 & 6 proved that you can do good works with your games, capcom and don't dare claimed 4 the best RE game if you treated it like crap. This is not too much to ask right, capcom? Sigh!

I played the demo last night in handheld and the game felt rock solid and there wasn't any slow down that I could tell and the graphics looks spot on being really clear with no jaggys. It didn't have motion control but I still managed to get an A ranking overall with quite a few S ranks in the other objectives.

I can't wait to play this with my girlfriend, but at the same time. £30 isn't really acceptable for a game I've completed 20+ times 10 years ago

I think Capcom should use the Revelations series of RE games to star all the characters we have come to know and love. And I would love to see Sheva in a game again...

So happy to see an informed, yet positive review of this game. In my opinion, RE5 just doesn't deserve the bad rep it gets from some fans. I think it's a decently fun co-op game with just a few minor flaws that keep it from being great. It's also the first Resident Evil game I ever played and the one that got me hooked on the franchise. I loved the characters Chris, Sheva, Jill, Wesker and Josh, and I wish all of them besides Chris would make more appearances. The gyro controls work fine on the Switch, but it does make aiming a bit tricky sometimes. I think if Capcom had spent a little more time improving the controls, this would be the best version of Resident Evil 5.

Sorry, Mark and Glen, I am late for this. I am quite unwell and spent most of the time asleep. Anyway, this port is quite decent, giving me hope for other Triple A releases. Also of course, we all want Resident Evil 7!

I got an _AMAZING_ deal on these games from GameStop. I bought RE Origins collection for $20 and they put RE Triple Pack in the case. I used the codes and DL'd RE 5/6 then returned it for the game(s) I actually paid for. So, RE 0, 1, 5, and 6 for $20! LOL!

I picked up the original resident evil remake. And yes, it was a good game. But I'll never touch it again. The amount of puzzles was a nightmare *pun intended*.

I couldn't resist at 8 quid this game is strangely nostalgic reminds me of college and getting my PS3 with metal gear solid 4 I miss those games

awesome review i’m glad the game performs good, that was my biggest concern. They have a bundle that includes RE4 5 and 6 for 60$ but i’ve heard it’s on sale for around 40$ so that is the best version to buy at the moment

I actually love them all. Original 2 is still my favorite cause it was my first, but I enjoyed even 6 in it's own way.

I am British and live in Thailand switch id name - mode7 thai … I was playing Resi 6 campaign online Tuesday and a player enters my game SwitchUp M, it was Mark from SwitchUp , he isn't on my friends list and lives in the UK … So either the online community is super small or it was just luck hahah, this game online though is amazing still 10 years later and mercenaries plus all the other online stuff is where this game really shines !!, I got the game with 33% off as I bought 1 & 4 previously, I wanted 6 as-well but as soon as I bought 5 I couldn't also have 6 with 33% off :(. …… ill wait for an eshop sale to get 6 for sure as the mercenaries mode in 6 is also really dam good !! …. Resident evil is probably my favourite franchise and its great to have so many Resi games on the Switch.

Man I love this damn game and it's the best coop Resi for me. BUT. That weird ass two overlap misaligned window Co-Op mode is so annoying that I'm gonna skip it. It wasn't this was on the OG releases 😑

Resident evil 7 MUST come soon !!!!!! …… I really really want that game on the switch, I played it using PSVR and it was so terrifying for me I couldn't even play it any longer than 10 - 20 mins at a time, I actually got rid of the VR headset after that experience as it just totally put me off of it (no joke) I grew up on the video nasties of the 80’s and Resi 7 in VR remains the most scared shitless I have been in my life with something media related, I would even go as far to say that maybe they took it all a-bit too far LOL

Resident evil is a funny one for me love Remake 1&2,3,4 but 0, CV,5 and 7 were not for me. The hate 6 gets is in my opinion undeserved i enjoyed it, the 3DS games revelations were an excellent return to form. But I have such a love for Jill and Chris in the series that this is a hard one more wise to pass up. I always found Chris takes up to much real estate on the screen when aiming and the boss fights were just a retread if 4’s. Have Heard the 2 player is a great experience but again the screen size is reduced, a 2 switches experience would be better and solve this but Capcom are pretty lazy with there ports. Also WHERE THE HECK IS THE USF4 PORT GUYS!!! I’d buy that in a heartbeat

I wish they would give us re7 on switch I would probably buy it right away. What do you think about them doing village? Is the switch powerful enough. They could do what they did with dying light it runs very decently.

I absolutely loved this game back on the ps3 and was my first platinum. It’s a shame you didn’t particularly enjoy the mercenaries mode as I used to play the hell out of that. You’re bang on with the price being too high though, you could get 4,5 & 6 on the PS4 store for £18 combined.

Greatest boulder fighting scene of all time.

I'm thankful for the gyro, but that performance is still incredibly terrible. I really wish they'd cap it at 30fps, either after some optimization or after dropping the resolution to 900p.

Where’s sound?

This game is fantastic but unfortunately only in co-op. As someone who only has internet on my phone it's a pity as it can be awkward trying to set up a couch session. It really is a shame that the AI is such a let down

7 would run like shit. I feel like it would just be disrespectful to the game to play it on switch when it’s so good on up to date hardware

I hate what they did with this edition . Part 4 was freaking awesome ...Perfect NO but they took away things that made it feel special. The PARTNER IS FORCED and ruins the game for single players. "PARTNER.....PARTNER ....PARTNER " SHUT THE F%!+÷K UP !!!!! I liked the suitcase and collecting crap yet that too was taken out. I LOVE SWITCH UP BUT THIS ONE SUCKS , I WAS LET DOWN . Oh well ....ya can't win um all.

The game is flawed no doubt. RE4 is an all time classic (and still is on Switch) and this doesn't come close... but It kind of works on Switch I think, since the console just doesn't have that many 'balls to the wall' cheesy action spectaculars, outside Platinum games titles of course. Looks great in portable too, can't believe it's ten years old

I loved RE 5, but the bullet leech A.I. companion was what killed the experience for me. Also, I hated using precious herbs and first aid sprays constantly on them.

Any remake of this game desperately needs to give you a better AI and make her/him invincible. Sheva is the whole reason I don't play this game anymore.

Not a very scary resident evil but I had a lot of fun with 5 back in the day. Very enjoyable entry in the franchise. 6 on the other hand was pure trash

Next time, maybe spend less time covering the mechanics and story of a game that's already been out for a decade. Obviously we all already know what Resident Evil 5 is by now. We're looking for info on how the Switch version offers anything different, and 7 minutes in you have yet to even touch on that. Smh.
