Playing the whole game no save for the A rank would have taken me so much longer. I beat the wesker battle mode 2nd try. I had way more trouble with clair alternate than wesker.

I don’t like pretty much all the live movies. I thought Resident Evil Apocalypse was tolerable because they have Jill and Nemesis from the games. Other than that, I find Mila Jovovich very annoying. Because she just happens to come save the day at the last second every time a game character supposedly does something cool but turns to a dud.

Dang straight. That A rank run took me forever. I died so many dang times lol. Pretty sure I memorized every inch of the game though

Glad to hear that all of the games are easier than this one. I've been playing RE games for a long time just not some of these older ones. The wesker mode battle mode was actually the easiest in my opinion as long as you get the magnum from kicking the slot machine you'll finish with like 10 minutes to spare for the A rank.

I can definitely see your point. I dont plan to ever play this one again because the A rank grind just burnt me out. I like the sense of accomplishment that comes along with the platinum. I've got a few I platted years ago that I'm still proud of lol

Touche. There are a couple games I have the plat for that I just play for fun. Borderlands 2 is probably the game I've played most. I've beaten it upwards of 50 times.

​@platinumgamerscore I know your pain. I got this plat about a year ago. My issue was grabbing that orb thing from under the crusher and parts of the battle mode. I'd say you will play this game again not this version but the rumored remake I'm sure. I am sure just like the other remakes except re1 there will be an option to pay to unlock everything and or buy tickets so if the A rank is in the remake it will be a lot easier.

That kind of makes sense. The tyrant from this game was way too easy IMO. So I csn see the bandys being a tyrant to spice it up, especially with the head grab insta kill they have.

@@platinumgamerscore they changed the frame rate but didn't accommodate by changing the times you need to beat, so you basically need be a minute faster which is just stupidly hard

Nope imma plat them all solo as well. I plan on using my ps4 & ps5 to snag the 1 co-op required trophy in Re revelations

The game takes a lot of strategy and memorization to get decent at it. The whole impossible to beat Steve if you have no heals is crazy they left that in. I almost got into that predicament the first time myself. Super glad I'm done with it though lol

You could always use the glitch for green herbs, but you'll need the file book at beginning of the game. I just need the rocket and linear launchers, what an absolute pain.

That's true I did it without the infinite herb glitch and it was insanely difficult

@@platinumgamerscore still working on it so not too impressive only completed 19/31 currently doing the PS4 version of resident evil 6. Played 7 with VR but already had the platinum by the time I actually got it so didn't do a whole playthrough.

@@platinumgamerscore the newer games like RE4 remake and RE8 are harder at the highest difficulty if you play them without bonus weapons or unlocked weapons. But those difficulties are really intended for unlocked weapons. Buckle up though for RE6 if you plan on playing that. It is the undisputed longest game in the franchise. It’s seriously 5 games in one. I don’t think it’s very difficult. But it’s very very long.

I've gotten the platinum for RE6 before. It's a grind because of the 6 separate campaigns. I'm betting it takes me 2 times the normal platinum time for any of these RE games

The battle mode was probably one of my favorite parts. While yes you have to do a "perfect" run to get the A rank, the Zombies always spawn in the same exact spot and the boss is the toughest part. Although I still think that the A rank for the campaign is egregiously difficult for no reason. Im sure if you gave it another go you could probably knock it n out. Hopefully it's the hardest to Plat in the series because I have another 6 left to snag

maybe i should i nearly did steve before but the worm went underground before i could finish him and i got hit in the fight which didnt help, i haven't done re6 either, not that its hard to finish just lazy grinding all the skills which is my last one before plat, ill do it eventually as its one of the poorer resi games overall i didnt mind it overall as i played it with my bro which made it more fun than silly AI's same with 5@@platinumgamerscore

Yeah its actually not as hard as you think if you just do it over and over for awhile. You'll get it with time to spare. RE6 is for sure a grind lol. Much more fun with some homes.

I've played racoon city but since it isn't in the Canon storyline I'm not doing it for this challenge. If enough people suggest it I'll definitely give it a rip at some point.

It is definitely a brutally difficult platinum. You get the infinite rocket launcher for earning the A rank in the story mode which requires a sub 4:30 completion time, 0 saves, 0 first aid sprays used, save Steve in the gas room, & give Rodrigo the medicine.

I did not stream code veronica or RE4. I have reconfigured my setup and overlay and whatnot to allow me to stream all of these now. So going forward I plan to stream all of my gameplays and then edit them down into these.

The battle modes honestly weren't that bad. I dont think I had to try for more than 30 minutes on any one of em to get the highest score. Wesker was by far the easiest it was just tedious. It just takes a metric butt ton of map memorization.

Maybe I'll do better in 1st person mode or something. Idk. I just had so much trouble with it because somehow the auto targeting would not work perfectly and she'd fire and they'd still be standing.

Yeah the system is more than finicky but it doesn't take too long to memorize the positions of the enemies and you can fire before you see them a lot of times.

1st person mode seemed easier to kill enemies with but I still struggle to get under the time needed for A ranks. I wish I had someone to help me get those A ranks cause after I get that, maybe the linear launcher in game would help get the 4 hour run done easier. Idk.

The linear launcher only unlocks for battle mode I'm pretty sure. If you get the A rank you unlock the infinite rocket launcher for story mode

You can buy a copy of code veronica x on the playstation store and it comes with a platinum. It's a ps4 title but I played it on the ps5

I'll give you that. I've never been a conservative lead slinger in video games. I don't excel at stealth, I'm a shoot everything that moves type of player lol

I'm working on the RE4: Remake as we speak. Canonically I'm pretty sure Code Veronica comes before RE4. That and the OG RE4 HD doesn't have a platinum, so i covered down on it with RE4R.

Although funnily enough if you wanted to do in a true canonical order from a story point of view, you’d actually start with re3 and then do re2 once Jill is unconscious as re2 takes place during the time Jill is out of it.

Can confirm. Platinumed the EU PAL version of this game and that battle mode thing was BRUTAL. EU version runs 25% slower than the NTSC version because it's based on the 50hz port of the game, but the in game timer runs at normal speed. If you miss one shot you have to basically start over.

You can actually play it on the ps5 if you have ps premium. I seen it earlier today. However, to my understanding it's essentially a retelling of multiple games in a different format. Additionally, it doesn't have a platinum trophy so I didn't include it in the 12 "TRUE" Canon games list.

I've been using the resident evil Canon wiki lost and it had em on there, but truth be told I aint quite sure what makes a game Canon vs not Canon in this series lol.

@@platinumgamerscore It's mostly paying an autistic amount of attention to the details: RE1 and its remake technically can't be canon because both campaigns contradict each other. For this case I take Umbrella Chronicles as the canon version. RE2 remake has the same issue, contradiction between campaigns. Claire A/Leon B in the original game is canon though, since that is the way Sherry gets cured and none of the contradictions of the remake are seen. RE3 remake very strongly implies that Nicholai dies (they even did an absurd update to ensure that is the case), while in the original there are chances of him escaping. Then, on RE Survivor there is a document that states Nicholai effectively survived Raccoon City. This is seen on the english translation but not on the japanese original, oddly enough, but this is never further confirmed nor denied. RE0 states Survivor is canon through its opening sequence, so I'm more inclined to believe Nicholai survived. RE4 goes perfectly well until the part where they intentionally contradict the events of Operation Javier (from RE Darkside Chronicles), so there goes its canonicity (a shame if you ask me) On a side note, Dead Aim and the Outbreaks are never said to not be canon AFAIK (Alyssa Ashcroft does exist though) and -sigh- Umbrella Corps is in fact canon, but the first 2 have no official achievements and only a deranged person would expect anyone to play Umbrella Corps, so yo can skip those if you want 😂

My first time playing thru the game was like a 10 hour playthrough over multiple days. I shortened it down into 20 minutes for the video, but if I get stuck for an extended time I use spoiler free guides to get Me past certain points

Most websites with guides say its a 4/10 difficulty and can be done in 10 hours. Not even close to true unless you mastered the OG version. It's mote like a 7/10 (25+ hours)

I rerecorded all the cutscenes after I got the play because I noticed when editing that it had a weird buzzing noise

I 110% agree it generates the overall experience but I usually try to solo all the games to avoid people saying I was "carried" or using other people to breeze through tough sections lol

@@platinumgamerscore You can tell your coop partner to not use any Bonus weapons or simply deactivate infinite ammo and start on the hardest difficulty. Its more fun and saves tons of playthroughs

It would definitely benefit from a remake or at least a remaster. If you took out the tank controls it would definitely be a whole lot better
