no, because it’s actually very lame. he shows up in very few rooms, he’s easier to dodge than regular zombies, and his whole purpose is to counter people blindly spamming rockets in NG+. that’s why he only appears in the only mode with rockets unlocked.
@@craigy_uk because Spencer is a sadist manipulative who enjoys mind games, as suggested by the in game documents, not to mention his taste towards art and classic music
I always appreciate how the enemies will patiently wait for you while you're doing inventory puzzles Chris: Yo, gimme a minute I need to figure this thing out. Zombie: *sighs in frustration* ... Chris: alright that about does it Zombie: you good now? Chris: yeah I think so.. Zombie: alright.. ahem.... rwaaaaaar!
Well, if you beat the game on Invisible Enemy mode you unlock a picture of Chris and Jill and it has filming equipment with them...soooo yeah, its a movie.
The point he made is that Rebecca ain't no damsel in distress. That little thing can handle a hunter. Aside from this. Re zero came out after this. So. It's a little less consistent.
I understand why you turned them off for this video, but it's crazy how much less tension and atmosphere there is without the door transitions, really shows how much they affect the game. Great commentary as well brother.
@@doomguy8324 agreed. Just started playing the first one after years of playing all the others. While figuring out puzzles and what not the door transitions get insanely annoying. Personally I found the game most immersive and atmospheric walking around outside with the fog, trees, sounds etc- very creepy. But yeah, I hate the door transitions now haha
@@jonm.678 I agree. I hated going outside. The first trip through the courtyard up to the cabin was absolutely horrifying even though there are no enemies on the entire run.
It's somehow really entertaining watching your videos, dude. I usually start them and think to myself: "I'm just gonna watch a couple of minutes" and end up watching the whole run. Great skills and even better commentary :)
Suppose its obvious to say but as a casual viewer, these speedruns are great with the commentary. There are so many speed runs out there and its impossible to appreciate them without playing them. Though I have played this game and loved it, speed running is something else entirely. Thanks heaps for the entertaining runs!
Ricki Cowin exactly I always thought you’ll need them in the future so I’ll save them in the box but realizing that you don’t need them after passing the game lol
Yo Carcinogen got these Resident Evil games down to a science! He knows all the enemy attack patterns, how to bait specific attacks to dodge easier, what happens when you return to earlier areas, item placement, puzzle answers, and so on. I can only imagine how many playthroughs it took him to figure this all out to complete these no damage runs. He's a master of his craft and it's impressive!
It's even more ridiculous when you realize that Rebecca comes in, goes "Oh hey, Chris, whatcha doing?" and then volunteers trying her hand at Moonlight Sonata. Not because she knew it'd open a gate or some secret passageway. Nah, she just felt up to playing in a zombie infested mansion.
@rasánudbA MGS2 looked fucking brilliant to be a game launched in 2001, and the amount of details! Like, look at other games that came out in 2001 and nothing had that amount of detail imo
@@rodrigokuszek I'd still say the best looking game from the gamecube Era is metro is prime. That game still looks fucking amazing. But Re a close contender Def.
The reason it looks so good is that all the camera angles are fixed, so each background for each angle is basically a high-res flat image that takes up very little processing power with some minor 3D effects over top. This allowed them to spend most of the GameCube processing power on 3D models that were pretty damn good for 2002. The hardware at the time could never have rendered so much detail in real time.
What I don't understand is how the "self defense handgun", which is a Derringer pistol that typically uses a small caliber bullet, can one shot a hunter but a 12 gauge shotgun can't. I find that really strange.
No, it's fitted with a .22 Magnum, which is still a tiny-ass bullet. Just slightly longer then it's .22 Long Rifle counterpart, which most people think of when they say "a .22 bullet." But definitely not anything compared to a .357 or a .44. Or hell, even a 9mm round.
@@Xenoforge78 residentevil.fandom.com/wiki/Self_defense_gun "fires .22 Magnum rounds." There ya go, it is .22. Game logic just doesn't have to follow real life logic so they make it be powerful to make up for the fact it has only one shot.
@@Blackenedwhiplash I can understand the devs not understanding calibers but goddamn, a .22 from a shitty little derringer would absolutely not kill a Hunter in one shot, but yeah I agree, it needed to be powerful as to not be completely useless.
Dude I accidentally went in the room that triggers the saving rebecca event and continued on for at least 20 minutes not know I had to save her, she has been dead for a while now
Why do you say that? Wesker needed them alive so that he could gather Tyrant's combat data from fighting STARS members. Wesker makes NO mistakes! lol He'll be back in 8, somehow, some way.
@@whatsgoodmate8277 Cloning and mind transference. The man always had a contingency and knows when to play certain cards. I don't believe it was really him in RE5.
@Sad Trophy Wife Ameriboo/Westaboo. Those actually exist in Japan and elsewhere. There's a local cowboy-themed steakhouse in my city with a Japanese owner and staff.
How do you do these runs? How do you remember all of the puzzles, let alone the zombie positions and how to dodge them? How long did it take to complete this?
All of these Resident Evil videos are such a big help on what to do. I could never make it to Rebecca on time since I always get lost. Thanks a bunch Carci :D
I came here from the one on your old account. Thanks for explaining what is happening, it really makes it watchable for someone not familiar with every aspect.
Never watched playthroughs in my entire life until I found your channel. I can somehow watch you play Dead Rising for almost 7 hours, yet wanted to blow my brains out after 10 minutes of the Snyder Cut. Bravo sir.
This is one of the best games EVER made. The remake that is. The classic is a fantastic game in it's own right, but the remake is just on another level. The only complaint I have about it is that they really cut down on the gore in comparison to the classic PS versions. You used to be able to literally blow zombies in half with a shotgun, or a grenade launcher. Half their torso would blow up. That doesn't really happen in the remake. Either you decapitate a zombie cleanly, or they just sort of fall over and backwards even when hit point blank with a grenade launcher. Sort of silly looking in my opinion. If you hit an enemy with a grenade launcher in the original 3 games, they would explode and chunks would go flying everywhere. Not sure why they decided to "clean it up" when there were already more gory games out there. And even in the more modern age, we've had games like Dead Space that really went the extra mile in terms of gore. This is still my favorite game series of all time. At least up until the remake and re:zero. After that, I stopped caring. Sometime after Code Veronica, Capcom took the series in an awful new direction that really got away from it's roots. RE7 is a partial step in the right direction, but only a partial step. Let's see how the RE2 remake is.
Fifty0ne to answer your question regarding the cut gore. Is that CERO was formed early 2000's which is when a lot of Japanese games became less gory. Shame really as now console gamers have to put up with highly censored content. Whereas games released on pc in Japan aren't heavily looked at by CERO.
@@soup8786 Completely disagree. I just finished the game very recently for the first time, and I enjoyed the 'obscure' puzzles. Yeah the backtracking was a bit tedious, but I was so enthralled by the game I barely noticed it until the final section. I wish more games could capture and hold my attention like this remake did. I was very impressed to be honest.
@@soup8786 Oh I agree, and I've given up on some games where the puzzle game padding was seriously bullshit. I think Resi Evil 1 Remake is just a tame example. But hey, we can agree to disagree! :)
Resident Evil logic: We are about to be eaten alive by a horde of blood thirst zombies. Let me practice moonlight sonata for a little bit. Okay, but don't get too carried away.
I'd love to see you make a video about the different nuances of the RE games from a speed runners perspective. Like which titles do you think are the hardest to speedrun, best for beginners, fastest etc. Bet you could make some great content about it but just a thought fam
excellent! im really enjoying watching your speed runs lately. ive always been too scared to play these games on my own xD the commentary is great, too. i like the explanations!!
I used some of your tips using Jill and I completed the game in 2:35:47 and with Chris (mind you I made some slight errors that ate up some time but…) 2:59:58! By doing that I unlocked the infinite rocket launcher and Barry’s Samurai Edge. I’m about to clean house with these joints!!! Your videos are awesome bro!!! Respect!!! Thank you!
This game just ages so well, and it's all the little details, the atmosphere of the setting the background noises and soundtrack, the scarcity of the enemies, enough to be a threat but not too much to make it feel to action, the inventory system, enough to make you think but not so much of a frustration that it brings the game down like it did in Zero.. As time goes by and after multiple playthroughs of every RE game this is probably the one and Re2 that I find I can just play and not be bogged down by little things that annoy me..
I'd really love to see a run through of this game with killing everything, no save/no damage, and with the good ending. And doing it all as quick as possible. I'm curious to see how you'd approach that, even though it's closer to what a casual run-through would be like. I'd still like to see how you'd decide how to deal with Crimson heads and hunters without taking damage, and having to kill them versus dodge them. Maybe even on Real Survival, but would you have enough ammo to kill everything? I've never done it so I have no idea. I've only ever beaten this game on normal mode. That's just the way I prefer to play the game. To my knowledge you haven't done that kind of run with the remaster, unless it's a twitch-vod I haven't seen. I checked both the new and old channels. I loved your kill everything arrange mode in the original RE1... so that's why I ask.
Carci, the way you have been so formulaic with these videos in any game you’re doing a run or no damage run is insane, you have such an almost perfect rhythm even in your ability to explain being informative and entertaining, these videos will be timeless.
