Can you imagine getting shot and dying, your body is left there for years and years, then, someone finally finds you, and then they take off your skull.
The story behind the cartoon is that a young man, who was getting married after he returned from the battlefield, had only a few more days in the line of work when he was lost in action. His body sat there for like 40 or 50 years with nobody looking for him. He was found by a young kid who discovered his diary, and, I believe, they gave his body a long-awaited rest.
It was probably a 1000 to 6000 years since there was a tribal boy and civilization had restarted after the catastrophic of the weapons in the war killing of most intelligent humans reducing billions to millions or thousands
