I'll say this, I respect the grind of any car builder/enthusiast. Back when I first started building cars I didn't have the best taste nor the funds to acquire name brand shit. But at the same time I also was peanut butter and jelly of the legit builds with te37s, bbk's, quality parts. But after getting older, making more money and learning how to build, I now have a legit car with reputable parts. So thats where I respect the grind. Replica parts have their place but they're meant to be a stepping stone/gateway drug until you can get the good stuff.

I don’t respect all builds. I give props to the builds I like. That being said, I do respect builds that sacrifice looks for function as well. Real or replica parts makes no difference to me. If the car demands your attention I can rock with it. Let’s keep it real, some cars rolling rep shit are fire, even better than car with authentic parts. Keeping it 💯, it’s all in the eye of the beholder. On another note, maybe shed some light on chassis sharing for those that don’t know.. like the ILX and the 9th gen. Keep doing your thing. We here for it.

The more rep parts that are used and bought eventually get good r&d and start producing quality. Wheels that were reps years ago are now producing forged. MSR now has more upgraded coilovers which i cant find as many negatives.

Honda, the very foundation of our community started out with some dickhead putting little engines on cheap bicycles in his garage. Imagine if everyone had this "dont buy that replica Honda garbage. Buy once cry once and get a Harley davidson!" back then... as long as the parts aren't going to put mine and others lives in danger, I have zero issue giving the little replica start up companies a shot. Some of these little replica guys could be the next hybrid racing. Why buy ZoshMFG shirts when whene theres legit companies like Calvin Klein, Gucci, etc

Eh..... I'm good on Reps parts when it's available; I got multiple reasons on why but in my case there's not much aftermarket "big name" parts as it is so it leaves me with either making something on my own or modifying a ebay part that works. Added; sometimes parts are wayy out of price range and not necessarily worth the cost. To each they're own tho. I build either way lol.

Ive been building a d series 98 civic ex skunk 2 all around been taking forever since I’ve been getting good parts instead of cheaper parts but process has been so worth it

I’m not one to speak cause I had rep parts so I know that aspect but I was never proud of it. There is something to be said about quality and doing things the right way that resonates with me. A lot of people are in their feelings cause they know you right. As a society there’s a lot of hand holding so that only makes it worse. But yeah maxspeeding rods ain’t safe at all.

I’ve gone the cheap route on certain things but NEVER GO FULL CHEAP EBAY 😂😂😂 I spent 250$ on a KTuned harness vs a 80$ EBay harness because I KNOW KTuned IS GONNA WORK 100% but I do agree for the youngins/ newbies to pay attention to the quality of parts. Cause there are SOME low budget pats that’ll work

"Unalive Watch" is CRAZY 😂😂😂 But, you are speaking facts. Quality parts go a long way. Cheaper parts...usually don't. People always come to my shop wanting me to install UNIVERSAL parts on their BMW or Mercedes and mad when I tell them that 3pc eBay splitter won't fit. Or the double-sided taped on exhaust tip cover should be welded or at least have a screw to make sure it doesn't fall off. I understand cheaping out on some parts, but not on brakes, suspension, and stuff like that. If you can put your car back to stock in a day, it's not a Build. Edit: Let me go on to say, I have cheap parts that I use to make my own Air intake, Im currently building a FMIC kit using Amazon parts 🤣🤣 Im agreeing that when people are using nothing BUT cheap parts for their "build", thats a bit dangerous.

My input - The REASON for repect all builds isnt for show purposes... It isnt for money spent purposes or how cheap or how expensive or how low quality your build is. - When i hear respect all builds - I hear it as, " Let me do what the fudge i want with my car and you do what you want with yours; talk behind my back not to my face lol" Thats what i hear when i hear respect all builds..
