Respectful Childbirth Program in Indigenous Communities Reduces Maternal Deaths by 80% in Perú 

Women in indigenous communities in the province of La Convención in Cusco, experienced serious problems regarding the care they received in public health facilities while pregnant or with newborn children. In an attempt to strengthen the cultural rights and the capacity of public servants, AYNI implemented a strategy that significantly reduced the number of maternal and perinatal deaths in the region.
