I absolutely agree on your point on how being stuck on the classic bands will bring the genre to a standstill. As much as I love Iron Maiden for example and have all their albums, one has to remember that Maiden will not be around forever. One day that band will be no more. You have to look at the new generation of bands that are loud and proud to carry the torch of bands like Iron Maiden, but are also not afraid to add new twists and turns to the music. Bands like Ambush, Sabïre, Cauldron, Enforcer, Night Demon, Vulture, Traveler and Riot City are some great examples of this.
Music is subjective, it’s ok to hate an artist, it’s also ok to love that artist. It’s ok to have different opinions. Some people can’t seem to understand the concept of Opinions. The problem these days is that some people can’t handle different opinions and perspectives with respect or have a good counter argument but instead they will act like 2 year olds sadly
Honestly. Can't say I enjoy much of Steel Panther's comedy but at least those dudes can play. Hell, they play better than all of the bands they make fun of.

I smiled at the mention of The Lighthouse. It's my favorite film from last year. Also comedy is subjective so for them to say that you don't understand comedy proves that they clearly don't understand it.
@@metalmatt915 Honestly - I've yet to catch up on a few movies, still gotta watch 'Jojo Rabbit', 'Midsommar', and 'Rocketman', but a lot of what I've seen from last year was fantastic.
@@themetalmeltdownofficial I have seen Jojo Rabbit and Midsommar. I still haven't seen Rocketman. You'll probably like Midsommar. It's also A24 like The Lighthouse. It's an odd film for sure and there is a lot to analyze like The Lighthouse. It's from Ari Aster who also made Hereditary. If you liked that then there is a good chance you will like this as well. Jojo Rabbit is just fun. It was definitely one of my favorites from the year.
Thanks for being honest with your opinions and not jumping on the side with the "popular opinion". Those people are either obviously afraid to speak they're actual opinion, fearing others in the metal community won't agree with them.. or whatever reason they have, or they have a immature sense of humor AND enjoy horrible horrible singing. Its not right to say our taste in music is right or wrong... but if this is how metal fans want they're music to really sound?? I feel sorry for the future of metal.
You know who I am, and that I am an unabashed fan of your words and thoughts. But I don’t know if you know that I am, generationally speaking, a *deep breath* Gen-Xer. I love art in every form, but am biased towards filmmaking, literature and music, with biases inside those areas as well, because I’m an overthinking meat-sock just like you, my friend. My point? Without The New, my already shaky mental health would be a shambles. Bands like Astronoid, Sumac, Alcest, Deafheaven, Haken, Power Trip, Ne Obliviscarus, Code Orange... utterly essential. Thank god heavy music keeps evolving, because one day Rob Halford will pass away, and the pain of that will be withering, but we will have each other and our dedication to heaviness and boundary-pushing to sustain our battered hearts. A lot of Metalheads are confusing, if you don't like the shit they like you're a poser, and I get a lot of the opposite with older 70s metal, a lot of the 70s stuff isn't metal even bands who are like fuck yeah were metal isn't metal to them, but newer shit isn't metal either, it's fucking annoying and stupid, everyday it gets harder for me to enjoy the community.
Threatening someone with violence over a comment or a disagreement because there opinion isn't the same as yours is ridiculous. Not everyone is going to agree on everything. We all have a Right to our opinion OK CHILL OUT!!😏😌😒
In my OPINION Grandpa metal wasn't FUNNY!! I Was open minded I know who Brain is the videos were just so juvenile and chessey not FUNNY! I would be embarrassed to be on that album. My OPINION IT SUCKS!!
Great video! Metal is too broad of a genre for narrow-minded twats, even though many of them do exist. I can never stick to one subgenre of metal. Like yourself, I enjoy meat and potatoes, and I also enjoy lamb chops, salads, soups, dips, cheese, seafood, and dessert. If they can't have a heavy metal appetite, then it's their loss. I wouldn't worry about any of those commenters. Stay metal!
