Hello Dr, Please let me know if due to hard brushing gum receded little bit. For that do I need to go for surgery or not?? I had checked up by Dr and he was saying that there are creators in the gum. So for 2 teeth he suggested filling and for others he is saying that do not for any treatment.. Could you please help on this??
Hello Jyoti, it really depends on your individual circumstances. It would be hard for me to recommend a treatment for you without seeing your teeth. What I can say is that gums do not grow back on their own, but you will benefit from stopping or slowing the progression of gum recession. Stop using hard bristle toothbrushes, only use 3 fingers when brushing your teeth, also practice good oral hygiene and you will notice a difference in the progression of the gum recession. If these teeth start to look longer, or if they start to feel sensitive or loose, then I would recommend you look into the Pinhole Technique. I hope this helps!
Has any one used the lightwalker for perio I've read that they was sued for false advertising and it claims it has both yag lasers for regeneration but periolase 7 claims to be the only type I wanna know because I shedued a appt for Sept
Sorry to be off topic but does anyone know a tool to log back into an Instagram account?? I somehow lost the login password. I would love any tips you can give me!
The cost is outrageous - $2-3000 for one tooth? For a non-invasive procedure? This is why medicine needs to be reigned in. I am a veterinarian, by the way.
@@rickuptegraph668 i’m going to Mexico to get my teeth done. I wish I was closer to Los algodones. But I will be traveling from Florida so I think flying to Monterey or Juarez would be closer and more affordable. Do you have any recommendations in Monterey?
Joseph R Nemeth DDS & Associates Dr, my gums have been bleeding for many years since teenage. I’m in my 30s now. My bleeding used to be really bad. It used to be every day when I brush. Some days I used to bleed randomly even not brushing. Whom do I have to see regarding this? My dentists just don’t say anything. I have mentioned it to them. I do brush my teeth every day and floss. I’m not sure where I am doing wrong.
I haven’t seen a drop of blood nor pus from my gums since the lanap procedure and oral hygiene at home has become a great priority .....i was skeptical but am now confident that it’s saving my teeth...it’s only been a little over two months but it’s looking good.....fingers cross.
Why can't gums grow back? Or does it depend on the severity of the condition (if there is any bone loss), improved brushing technique and non-surgical therapy? Thanks for the information! Greetings :)
Hi Dr.Nemeth, just want to know what are your thoughts about 3D bioprinting and/or using stem cells to grow new, for example, gum tissue and bone? I've read about bioprinting somewhat, but wasn't sure if there was any development of it for dentistry.
I got the LANAP treatment on ONE of my teeth because just that one spot was inflamed and a deep clean didn’t do anything. After getting LANAP it removed gum tissue and now I have a black triangle and I hate how it looks. I wouldn’t mind as much if it were a back tooth, but it is my front tooth, dead center where it is easily visible and now I’m self conscious about it. I wasn’t told it would give me this and now I have to look for ANOTHER procedure to cover the black triangle. My periodontist said I won’t grow back gum tissue. I’ve been doing research and some sites say LANAP grows back tissue some say it doesn’t. Can you answer that question? Also if that is the case that it won’t grow back, I kinda regret getting LANAP.
I was told by a dentist that I have periodontal disease. At my last appointment I was told I need to have 11 teeth removed. I just cried. The method they want to use is to pull the 11 teeth and clean under the gums then replace the teeth with false teeth. Is there anyway I can get and evaluation by you.
If a person has gum recession should the patient have bacterial slides done to decide if the LANAP procedure needs to be performed before having the pinhole procedure done? Can a person with gum recession expect to see gum regrowth with just the LANAP procedure alone?
How do I find a dentist who does this procedure in my city? And is there any comparison between this and laser dentistry that has been shown to actually cause bone regrowth as well?
My right side very back teeth has level 7 pockets, which is really deep. My periodontics suggest me to use soft pick vertically to clean. I felt pain and bleeding. Is this normal?
Because they can charge what they want. Insurance doesn't usually cover it. Since this procedure is needed, they decide what they want. He could charge $100 if he wanted.
With LANAP Will bone growth occur only on natural rooted teeth or on teeth that have had a root canal treatment done to them as well. Also a molar #14 with a perio probing 9 on the distal buccal roots and a 5 on mesial. Is there any chance of saving that tooth with LANAP?
I am very impressed by your strong leadership. Can a person living in Vancouver, Canada see you? I have a loose Crowned lower molar I have been so fearful of what might happen I haven't gone back to my Dentist for almost two years.
Hello Dr, My name is Jacy. How are you? What would be the safest way to brush my teeth? I have been using Colgate toothpaste with a medium-soft toothbrush and floss whenever I have time. I just started using an electronic toothbrush that my friend got for me. Is it safe? Is it really better?
Is it possible to connect a bridge to an implant (picture this: a dental crown on #21-- bridge on missing teeth #20, #19,#18-- implant molar #17)? Thank you.
Do you give pain meds to someone getting a gum graft on say 2 teeth? And what if that patient is in recovery from addiction and is taking a medication called suboxone and its required to take pain meds for the pain?
I recently went to the doctor requesting the LANAP procedure, he said:" if that procedure would actually make bone grow he would be a millionaire" and he said look at me I am not, Is he being mean or ignorant? DOES IT WORK, he was serious about it not working and that doctors were saying the wrong set of words, LANAP does help, but not make bone grow.
How old is your doctor? LANAP has been FDA cleared for doing what it claims. You saw the radiographs-they're real. There's too many old, cynical doctors out there who aren't keeping up on the latest and the greatest. That being said, LANAP doesn't help everyone regrow bone but will help everyone arrest their disease. And for those who it does help, I just recently spoke to the office of Millennial technologies in Cerritos CA who made it and they told me it ranges from 20% to 40% more bone growth but never 100%. But that's HUGE! That can definitely save teeth.
@@silversurfer4441 God bless you for answering me, he is not old, late 40´s , but he seemed arrogant and just wanting to charge me 60$ dollars for a consult and no solution. I left there ill and insulted, thanks for bringing my hopes back.
Once you have gum disease and it has spread to the heart causing high blood pressure and risk of stroke, will curing the periodontitis also cure the systemic connection, or does it need a separate cure, and if so what do you usually use for the systemic portion?
I have I have a tooth that was pulled 2022 in May the tooth had bone loss so much that I'll have to have bone grafting done for that tooth so how is this done or should I not do it
I only have mild to moderate periodontal disease in my back teeth and been flossing more. I want to have braces/invisaligners to straighten my teeth is it safe for me to go through with it.
The cost is very inhibiting for a vast majority of people in the U.S. We know by watching your videos that we need the procedure(s) but cannot possibly afford it! So, I wonder how much of the fee is for any procedures and how much is profit?
Hi I have advanced periodontal pockets and have lost 2 teeth from it. I currently have 2 teeth in stage 3. My question is ‘can the pinhole technique be used with implants’ if I lose these teeth they are in my smile area and I would like to fix that. Many thanks Geoff
Hi Dr. Nemeth, I had several sequestra in my back gums on the tongue side. I am not sure what caused them and my dentist was not sure either. It was quite painful as the fragments made their way to the surface. This was.not related to any tooth extraction because I had my wisdom teeth removed over 20 years ago. I have heard that certain medications or smoking can cause them? It is also possible I might have brushed too hard? I am hoping you might have an answer. I am a 36 yr old male. Thanks.
Hi doctor i am a student at one collage in iraq and , i love your presentation and you a good doctor , i want to be a good doctor like you , my question what about black triangle, in some case the patients said that they wash their teeth properly and why they have it ?! Sorry my english is not well , 😊
We actually posted a video all about black triangles. Check it out! Also welcome to the channel. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-peQ53jmvrqg.html
Hi Dr. Nemeth, due to ill health and active autoimmune issues, I did loose some bone in my teeth, but they are much more secure again, but I still have severe gum recession with black triangles, both on top and bottom front teeth, but more severe on the bottom. The other teeth in my mouth are predominantly implants (some are upwards of 10 yrs old but still in very good condition, also as a result of autoimmune issues). The gum tissue surrounding my implants is much healthier than the tissue surrounding my own teeth, which can have something to do with the types of bacteria in the mouth. As I understand it, certain undesirable bacteria is more attracted to real teeth more so than to implants/crowns, which can lead to more gum recession. Do you and other fellow dentists that perform this pinhole procedure test for the different types of bacteria that can in some cases, contribute to gum recession, regardless of a clean diet and good hygiene. Thank you for taking the time to make this Q & A video.
So should I just get dental implants instead of having all of my teeth being root canal with crowns? I’ve already had five root canals and two of them have failed so far. It’s $3000 per root canal it’s quite expensive and it seems like they may have a five year life span and then they fail. I think I have to go to Mexico to get the rest of the work done it’s just too expensive in United States 😞
@@HH-gv8mx Hi HH, I can only advise based on my personal experience, but given that, the lesser of 2 evils is implants. I also know of several other people who have had root canals and shortly thereafter went for implants. The root canals were a nightmare for me. Mexico is an option too and I would consider that as well for my front teeth now, which I am needing to have replaced, but I will need bone grafts from my hip which complicates things with an extensive recovery period so I will probably stay in Canada to do that, but yes Mexico might be a good idea to save money.
Dr. Joseph Nemeth. One of my teeth (right/upper side) did the laser gum surgery 5 weeks ago. During (actually the after) the surgery, the doctor took off a little of crown so that it would not touch the bottom tooth. But two weeks ago, that tooth seems to became 'longer" again. When it touches the bottom tooth, it became very uncomfortable. I am wondering if it is normal and how long it would become grow back so that it would not touch the bottom tooth? Thanks
The pinhole technique is used to treat gum recession, not gum disease. Check out this video we made, it may help you get a better understanding. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-xFM6p-FybxQ.html I hope this helps!

Hello Dr. Nemeth I am wondering if you work on wisdom teeth my son's wisdom teeth are growing horizontal and need to be removed an he is afraid an he wants to see you. Otto
I have 7 black decayed nubs with progressive swelling. im 27. Im terrified im gonna die I cant fix it. I try to brush and floss but i cant be in excruciating pain for weeks on end I cant work that way and I start a new job soon after being homeless and now its getting worse. I wish dental was considered healthcare 😟
The dentist that I went to only gave me a solution of extracting 5 teeth. I asked why he said because of boneloss. But he didn't offer implants or Lanap at all. Is this procedure done in California.
@@user-eg1rt4xy8k well I kept my teeth did not return to that dentist, I still have my teeth and did not listen to them I just continue to wash my teeth every day that is it.
Hey Dr Joseph, I just have one question. In between some of my front teeth, the gums are sort of squishy and move easily when if I press a piece of floss against them. My gums look healthy for the most part, but just a few areas have these squishy/floppy bits. Is this a cause for concern?
Hello doctor, I chuckled at your pun right after you said it.😂 How do I go about finding a GOOD LANAP her in my area of Los Angeles/San Fernando Valley California? Thank you for your time.
I have one upper front teeth crown on it, and I never checked it out with dentist. Now I see some black acculturation under the crown. Q is , dose this crown should be taken out and cleaned and reattached?
If this is an older crown the black you see may be the metal part of the crown not coated by porcelain. As the gums recede this metal part of the crown becomes exposed and appears black. Sometimes a disease can bond over the metal eliminating the darkness. More likely you'll need a new crown. New crowns are not made by fusing porcelain to metal. Or you have black tartar accumulated at the margin of the crown that needs to be scaled off. Crowns are cemented to the tooth. The margins are sealed so plaque cannot get under a crown unless the tooth/root is decayed under the crown. Hope this helps.
Hi Dr. Nemeth, I have severe bone loss & gum recession in my mandible. I also have 3 implants in the jaw to which the gum never bonded. Food particles etc. can get & do get in there. The implants were done in 2017. Since then, my gums have recessed aggressively. I now suffer from inflammation in the area and something that looks like hard pimples on the gum that are very sore to the touch. Do you think pinhole surgery or Lanap could help? Tia.
I had bonegraft of tooth #8 done 4 weeks ago and it failed. Dentist did it "knowing" that is was going to fail due to not having much bone left but didnt tell me about it until I seeing a periodontist and that's when she told me that it was going to fail due to no bone there.. Now my other 2 teeth on the side got lose. Now their telling me I have to extract them to and then do bone graft for implants..it was a waist of money for the 1st surgery. Should I still trust them? Can I save tooth #7 & #9 now although they are a little lose? They said I need bone in those 2 teeth and ofcourse for tooth # 8 that didnt work..what should I do? I need help
Hello Mar Gon, I know this must be a very frustrating situation for you. Often times the answer is not black & white. Often times, bone grafting can be successful once the area is healed properly. It's likely that your first dentist did what was in your best interest. However, it never hurts to get a second opinion.
Hi, I have periodontitis and unfortunately have some bone loss... I managed to get the root scaling done about 6 mnths ago, going dentist every 2 months and getting hygienist to clean the teeth, my gum puckets are still 4s and 3s, and one or two 5 What option do I have now?.is lanap is the only way?
Use an electric toothbrush with a two minute timer and pressure sensor light. Floss after every meal. Get a water pik. Use it in addition to brushing and flossing. Make sure you set the dial to a 7 on your water pik for optimal effectiveness. Always use light pressure when brushing. Brush your gums as well as your teeth!
@@user-yb6xn3ut7o I do use waterfloss after every meal... I realised I may be over brushing, the place where I spend more time in brushing, this is where the bigger pockets are and dentist keeps telling me I am not spending enough time there... Im sure this is due to over brushing not under
My new insurance doesn't cover Pario Maintenance. This is the first time I've ever seen this so I didn't know I was even getting a different type of cleaning for the last 5 years. I get the difference that D1110 is for healthy gums and D4910 is for diseased gums. However no one can tell me the difference with the procedure itself. I had my deep cleaning in 2018 and after about a year I was back to normal cleanings, from what I could tell anyway. I haven't had my gums measured since 2018, no plaque buildup, bone loss, inflammation and never any type of numbing needed. Why am I still being charged for D4910
D4910 perio maintenance is different than D1110 code in that with healthy gums there are no periodontal pockets (probe readings 1-3mm) therefore the DH scales deposits off of the teeth above the gumline only. Whereas with the periodontal maintenance procedure there are periodontal pockets (3+ mm) which requires scaling below the gumline to clean the roots of the teeth.
Hi Dr , could u please help me to make my teeth strong as they are slightly loose because of periodontal disease , I have not done deep cleaning yet, but it’s due . Also can i go for orthodontic treatment ? My age is 40 . I am taking vitamin C. I heard co Q enzymes are really good for gum tissue ? Please reply me Thanks Dr
It's hard for me to recommend a treatment for you without seeing you, but there are ways to make your teeth stronger and healthier! Make sure you have enough calcium in your diet. Also, Vitamin D is very important for you to keep your teeth strong. Take a look at this video we made a while back. Your dental health has either been connected or at least have a coralation to your total body health. So why is dental insurance allowed to be the same or close to the same as it was in the late 80’s when it became more widespread to have dental insurance? This on top of the fact that dental and dentist prices have risen by quadruple or more cost. How are the middle class supposed to be able to afford that?
interesting video, my gums are red , one tooth receding nicely 😊 don't like ! is the reason gums inflamed because of plaque? i would think so , then removeing that plaque the inflamation will subside? and receding tooth will stop receding? using tooth paste parodontax to help with bleeding gums and it says helps remove plaque too! and using mouthwash to prevent gingivitis. iam 70 yrs old and have all my teeth . your thoughts would be aporeciated THANKS
The gum inflammation is caused by plaque and bacteria that gets lodged between the tooth and the gum. Removing the plaque would cause the inflammation to subside, but it will not cause the gums to stop receding. There are some precautions you can take to slow or stop receding gums. Check out this video I think it will really help you! Stay healthy. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-1ubYRrHMGpg.html
