"If you use our products, that's great, but these tips work on any product you use." I cannot express just how much I respect and appreciate this candor and honesty. Not a plug or sales pitch, just one car guy spreading some advice to other car guys (and gals), on order to help them. This is what the community is all about, and Jay has never forgotten his roots. As big of a star as he is, he will always be a down-to-Earth car guy, and that deserves the utmost respects.

I think I've watched 3 or 4 episodes of Jay on the Tonight Show. (Probably have seen Johnny on 10.) I've seen almost every single Jay Leno's Garage. Some of them (the steam engine videos) more than once. (A LOT more.) Jay, more steam, more restoration, and do some more 2 stroke engine videos. steve

Yes, I am sure about this. Look, it is obvious that Jay makes money on this product, but his video was about how to restore your finish and leather on a project vehicle. Clearly, Jay benefits from the sale of the product, but I sincerely doubt it would make much matter to his financial situation if somebody went out and bought a few bottles from Walmart because they saw this video. And while JLG products were clearly used here, the point of this video is not about a sales pitch. Yes, Jay does "plug" product with visual imagery and brand mention, and there is nothing wrong with that, but the purpose of this video was not about selling Jay Leno's Garage merchandise. But if you think that it was just a pitch and watched it anyway, then perhaps you might want to find a hobby to do with your spare time. 😆

14:45 Massively fabulous Kawasaki H2 750cc Two-Stroke 3-Cylinder over Jay's shoulder! What a beast! Full Noise in 1st gear is an experience never to be forgotten! Certainly, modern bikes are faster and smoother and quieter and use less fuel, but this is a MOTORCYLIST MOMENT! The sound, the noise, the vibration, the feeling of the engine trying to twist the frame into a spaghetti knot, the excitement of riding something that felt DANGEROUS!

I'm partial to the "little" RD400! I scared two of my brothers with versions of that street killer. My favorite, 79 Daytona Special, with an RZ350 engine (and all the electricals) in it. Both bikes, (the 350 and a 77 400) were too fast to really be on the road. Outside of a 9 second drag car, there was NOTHING that could hit 60 MPH faster than me. Jay needs to do a story on 2 stroke street bikes. Maybe 3 or 4. steve

I used to use another product (not going to call the company out, but it has a state in the name, and looks like a McDonalds Fry Guy on a stick), and my paint finish paid the price. In a positive note, I did learn how to correct duster scratches in a 2-stage paint finish, a few years later. ;-) Anything that comes in contact with the paint, has the capability of damaging the paint. Product selection (chemicals as well as cloth) are extremely important. The good thing is that the longer you spend in the hobby, the more you learn. Sometimes you learn that what you're doing is right, and sometimes you learn that what you have been doing is wrong. More often than not, however, you learn that there are several ways to do things, and neither one might be wrong, just different. Keep enjoying the community!

The Power Wagon transformation is amazing! I am really glad more people are choosing rustoration over restoration if it is a nice survivor. In the early 90's I rode with a guy to Lansing, MI to help him retrieve one of his classic cars that had some work done by a shop there. The persons house where the car was parked had a good size, but unassuming looking garage. When we walked inside, I was shown the 1958 Joie Chitwood Thrill Show Corvette convertible. This car was AWESOME! At that time in my younger life I had never heard of Joie Chitwood, and the internet didn't yet exist to do any research, but I did not doubt the authenticity of the car. It was a thrill hearing the owner talk about Joie Chitwood & the 'vette. Knowing more now about the pedigree of the 'Vette, I feel even more privileged that Mr. Francis invited me into his garage. I am really glad I got to see the 'Vette in the delivered to Joie Chitwood condition. From recent the photos I saw, it underwent a concourse restoration. To me it's no longer the original 1958 Joie Chitwood Thrill Show Corvette convertible.😢

I'm surprised Jeremy didn't mention decontamination (claying) of the paint as one of the 'steps' in paint correction. It's an essential step with modern paintwork. I assume it would also work to remove embedded particulates on a paint with mixed clear coat.

What, you think Gwyneth Paltrow's Goop line of $6000 car care products is overpriced? They're vagina scented. You've gotta pay extra for that, and it goes great with the "This smells like my vagina" candle (a real product over at Goop, $75 a candle).

Thanks for all your videos Jay, I look forward to your show 🎥each week. Went to Walmart today and bought some of your JLG Quick Detailer. I've got a 1960 Triumph TR3 survivor that I pulled out of a barn last summer. I'm driving it now but I have been scared to jack with the paint, don't want to screw it up. The last time this car was polished was most likely in the 80's. Thanks for the heads up on your products, now I can begin to work on shining the paint. The paint is the correct color but not original paint, I suspect it was painted between 1960 and 1965. I have provenance detailed records all the way back to 65 and no mention of a repaint. The records 📂✏ are so detailed every oil change and almost every tank of gas ⛽has been recorded, and of course all the big stuff like points and plugs. lol....😁 Thanks much!!! 🏁🏁🏁

Fun fact: For cleaning leather seats you only need a good coconut oil shampoo used with a little water and your choice of sponge, microfiber sponge would be my choice. Work the coconut oil in using your hands in gloves also. Then lightly wipe with microfiber towel and follow up with any brand leather conditioner👍

I'll get there to see your awesome garage one day, Jay. I'm beating 3b lung cancer, and you're on my bucket list. Also, that's not oxidation he rubbed off, it's aluminum. 😉

No, it was oxidation. Bare aluminum will oxidize in minutes when exposed to the atmosphere. Aluminum oxide is not necessarily a bad thing. It actually protects the underlying metal. If the surface of the base metal is highly polished the aluminum oxide layer that forms will be just as smooth. When aluminum is "anodized" it is actually just creating a layer of aluminum oxide with an infused color dye (aluminum can also be clear anodized). I am not referring to hard anodizing, which is a different process.

I originally thought you were just rebranding some other products. That’s impressive that you designed your own!

Thank you for the informative video on car care! Nice to know how your cars are kept so spotless! How about videos on the Model X Duesenberg, the Model SJ Duesenberg and that ‘56 Imperial with the Hi-Way Hi-Fi!

Did you make this one for me!? I talked to your employee on the phone and mentioned how I didn’t think Jay was a chemical engineer but still ordered that detail kit. That was approx 2-3 hrs before you posted this video. Weird… thanks Jay and kind employee!

It was good to see the 7 liter. Maybe you could give us a ride in a future episode.
