@@harenthiran True. And never forget, these guys are extremly poor and also have to feed their 10 children every day. Most of them are so hungry, after some minutes they can't hold their newest smartphone no longer, it falls off their hands and breaks on the floor. So sad.
@@horstmuller7512 that is the other side of the community! When I was asked a carpenter in India, you are making same size cuts and holes almost all the time then why aren't you make a jig that will make your work easier and faster. 'in the time of making a jig we will cut 100s of woods' his whole team replayed with smile. That's how they think to be poor, they are not to be poor but they choose to be poor. Let them they are and enjoy the video
Right? This is a ground contamination nightmare. Too bad they don't get paid enough to even afford power tools or the proper equipment to do this without hurting the soil.

Absolutely, @SFORSANDEEP! 🛠️ You hit the nail on the head! 💪 Pakistani mechanics prove time and again that it's not about having the fanciest tools, but about having the skills to get the job done right! 🔧🌟 Thanks for recognizing their talent! 🙌 Keep spreading that wisdom!
They didn't rebuild it; they just took it apart and replaced the metal filings with fresh grit. Good grief, any Mercedes techs watching this are having an aneurysm. But, I guess ya gotta do what ya gotta do; with whatever available resources.
Pakistan a country with its own nuclear deterrent but a workshop in a scrap yard on the ground no work benches without overalls and basic safety gear,do they offer a guarantee on their workmanship?......
@@constantinemouad2782that’s called Repairing or fixing …… Rebuilding means everything is refreshed to A to Z. When you buy a rebuilt transmission or engine or alternator, everything is new or refreshed except the casing. That’s CALLED rebuilt. Rebuilding / reconditioning / refurbishing are all the same thing. NOT fixing.
@@MTLJack There is no significant difference in the scale of achievement and the technical knowledge required for it. Whether it is dismantling, then replacing damaged parts, then assembling, or whether it is dismantling and replacing all the parts, then assembling. On the contrary, experience lies in the ability to identify damaged and near-damaged parts, replace them only, and complete the repair at the lowest cost and best quality. As for replacing all the parts, this does not require greater experience and knowledge.
I like watching them put a combined 2000 man hours into refurbishing things like a truck's crankshaft on ancient, and equally poorly maintained lathes so that their finished product is exactly out of spec and ready to be replaced.
trans case is complex with 200 piece of parts,, it is insane to remember all of them and their location in orders,, any glitch could lead to disaster,, amazing how these guys know how to work on it without road mapping the diagram paper while doing the rebuild...???
Hello dude. Thanks for giving a chance to compare the Pakistani and German mechanics. Hey, according to your information the Pakistani mechanics do it very cheaply as compare to the German’s. Here in Pakistan the repairing costs vary from 250 euro to 600 euro. Maximum repairing of such a gearbox could be done in 700 euro. It is because everything available here is cheap and cheaper. From spare parts and bearings of the gearbox to the charges of the mechanic, everything is available on cheap prices. And the mechanic charge for this repairing is up to 120 euros. And also these Pakistani mechanics guarantee their work. After such a repairing these gearbox can have a run life up to 4 to 5 years without any inconvenience. Regards 🙏😑 !
If they can take these apart that quickly, they have done 50+ of these. My guess is the transmission had bad synchro's, the one guy threw like 3 of them away after looking at them.
Com todo o respeito ao trabalho dos caras. Mas o vídeo não mostrou qualquer peça sendo substituida. Mostrou apenas uma desmontangem, limpeza e montagem.
@@russellking9762 But it is amazing they doing Great Job under the limited source and budget also. I someone not appreciating so this is not fault of him it's is habit ✅
@@TruckWrench92 Agree. Considering, these poor creatures spend most of their time cursing their gruesome god at least 10 times a day, it's a real wonder they still come to work.
I work for a CAT dealership in a contamination control level 3 out of 5 shop. Even our varsol is scanned and particle counted on regular basis to give you an idea of cleanliness…..then I watched this. Lol
Well, talk about taking cleanliness to the next level, @Hauler! 😄 It sounds like your shop runs a tight ship! 🚢 But hey, sometimes a little bit of grit adds character, right? 😉 Our Pakistani mechanics might not have all the fancy gadgets, but they sure know how to get the job done! 🔧

Hard working man in an other nation were boots and ratches seems not to exist? Instead of taking the gears out together, just throe it on the ground. Can" t they imagine to create micro cracks which cause later completre failure😮.

Yup ! Next to a torque wrench you also need a laptop , a workshop program from the manufacturer etc ! I would give you all experts a torque wrench , a set of sockets but nothing more in the middle of nowhere to use it properly on a gearbox ! Or whatever ! You all act like knowing it all but without electricity most of us are un capable to do what we request from others
@@raduberaru9369 Feel free to be as sarcastic as you'd like, mate. The point is, without the proper equipment, you can't expect a job to be done right. I admire their level of skill and acknowledge that they perform admirably under difficult circumstances. But the bottom line is, a weld doesn’t care, a bolt doesn’t care, if they are not done right, they are going to fail.
@@Pakistani-Hands But that still does not alter the fact each bolt has a specific torque setting, without a torque wrench bolt can easily be over tightened this can as bad as fitting them loose.
I'd like to know the brand of gasket sealer they use. The techniques used here are the same used on Model A's and Indian motorcycles back in the day. I also like the homemade pavement they are working on. Don't forget, this is a repair (looks like he was replacing the synchronizers) and the transmission owner is probably as poor as they are. Great job overall.
Hey @dogbitefred6631, thanks for the insightful comment! 🙌 It's amazing how timeless techniques can still work wonders, right? 🛠️ As for the gasket sealer, it's likely a high-quality silicone-based 🚚💨 These mechanics know how to make every repair count, even on a tight budget! 💪 Keep the admiration coming! 🌟
Non ho capito perché è stato smontato e rimontato tale e quale. Pensate che alla Mercedes lavorerebbero su cuscinetti e ingranaggi in mezzo alla terra?
Saw the same stuff in Africa in Mali, in Senegal..people doing brand new carter, gear boxes by melding scrap metal....to say the least rebuild made by picking parts from half-destroyed cars, soldering and so on are just plain dangerous to drive...Saw also Cuba where old american cars are using motor and transmission from Lada, Volvo... Those guys are making 10 $ us a day...minimum salary in Pakistan is 160 $ us a month...
The health and safety nazis going mental watching this. I love it, this is proper spannering, big hammers and not a torque wrench in sight, just goes to show what you dont need!!! brilliant

It's true, transmissions can be quite intricate beasts! But you've got a point there - electric vehicles sure simplify things by skipping the transmission altogether. Sometimes less really is more! ⚡🚗🔧
that's not a restoration and not a rebuild, its a repair. if you restore or rebuild something, you change more than just the damaged part, you change all the parts which wear out, like the the bearings, all the seals etc.
