You can also use iron on self stick pads and a curling iron to iron it on. These are available online or fabric stores. It's the kind to cover holes in jeans. But this was a very nice fix in this video too. Thanks
I'll have to try out the foam and sticker method. I got new sneakers about 4 months ago, but one of them already has such a big hole in the heel (it's a platform sneaker that 'slips' a lot) that I'm touching plastic and I'm getting hella blisters. Hopefully this works for me too, since they're basically still brand new!
