I love that you feature rather exotic watches on your channel and how silent you keep your videos: 👍👏👌! The new lume is a bit loud, though. On most restorations of older watches, coffee is used to tone it down a bit.
Kudos for not forcing that screw out! I've needed to do it your way a few times... although if I can, I'll still pull the mainspring and clean it (but then you gotta put it back in by hand). I see newbies and some older more experience guys that have the "well, it has to come off" mentality. I say if a screw (or cannon pinion, for example) doesn't want to come off, leave it alone and work around it. They must have liked the old "Red Green Show" where his motto was "If it ain't broke, you're not trying"!
I agree with you 100%. You have no idea how many times I've broken screws just because I really wanted to unscrew them. In this service I wanted to extract the mainspring, it often happens that it breaks, I asked the supply if they had new mainsprings but everyone told me no. So I decided to wash everything mounted in ispropyl alcohol. I hate when watches remain parked for months or years because I can't find spare parts. Thanks for your comment.🤝
Great Job! B.T.W.: Did You try to open the stuck Ratchet Wheel Screw by turning it the other way? Many Junghans movements have also the Ratchet Wheel Screw Left Threaded, for reasons only a German Engineer would understand. 🤪
