What a turn out on that Bowie knife I want it lol. And a Big thanks for what a lot of others don't bother when welding thanks for thinking of our eyes and hiding the glaring brightness
Wow all that rust and yet that super fine edge is perfect. What are the odds? 99.99999% of edges would be pitted but you found the .000001% that isn't. This is definitely not fake at all.
How long did you leave it out before restoring? Cant be that long considering it was in quite an okay state in comparison to other ”very rusty knives” here on youtube.
if you place high carbon steel in white vinegar for a week it will look exactly like this blade did when he started. The "corrosion" that was on this blade was too easy to scrape off and the steel was not pitted enough for it to be naturally corroded
@@McPhersonPatriot I found a pretty decent restoration channel called Screws and tools . He even has videos of the flea markets he finds his stuff at gives it more credibility than most these channels.
Es ist immer wieder schön zu sehen, das etwas altes was viele in denn Müll werfen würden, wieder so aufgearbeitet wird. Es ist ein wunderbares Messer geworden.👍👍👍
My grandpa still had his from ww2 when he was stationed in Burma with a nice holster, that and a machete …we kept the knife when he passed as he had continued its use as a letter opener and disposed of the machete appropriately.
After the knife had been going through electrolysis for 8.5 hours, I can very well understand why you called it 'Worm Water!' Lol. Definitely looked like some worms had been boiled in it! Lol.
I’d bet my life you took a new-ish blade and let it rust so you could make a restoration video. The thing was structurally sound, even the cutting edge. Fake! An actual blade that was out in nature rusting for years would not be the same exact size after restoration. Again, FAKE!!!!
looks awful familiar if you check Amazon for bowie blade blanks. That knuckle notch just before the tang narrows to a rattail is a dead giveaway. Props for that haft, tho, it's a beaut. Also, polished the blade to a mirror finish.
I love these videos. Excellent job. I know nothing about restoration so with that said, why wouldn’t you use a sand blasting machines to get it down to metal?
I dont know where you find all this rusty crap. Do You purposefully rust things to make these videos? If so I would like to know what solution you use. Salt water etc. Thank You
If your knife is not a full tang you r not using a good knife... Cause this kind of knife often useless when you r using it for a real life situations... But for a showcase it's a good choice though
