This is a very rare Citroen 2cv Dagonet. Made after the original 2cv racing series. You can also follow me on Facebook and Instagram: - Facebook: oldtimergarage - Instagram: otgarage
Apparently some were made for racing. The curves are less steep from front to back - normally a CV looks like half a circle when you look at them from the side. The real Dagonets were lowered. The French called it "Une propre 3CV" due to the performance. They were racing. 2CV racing were a thing in the 1970-80s. Today there's still offroad racing in 2CVs it's open class. You can participate in a modified 2CV. But many are as is from the factory and very original. I think people would be surprised of just how difficult terrain a 2CV can handle. Many normal 4WDs would struggle in the same terrain. The 2CV weighs 450 KG. Most terrain vehicles are easily 4 times heavier. Which means the 2CV could be riding on the top - while more powerful and heavy vehicles simply would sink and be using everything they've got just to prevent a standstill while the 2CV would be dancing like a butterfly with ease.
Wow! Realy great! Extraordinary! I've seen a many 2CV's throughout the years, but nothing like this one 😃! Lovely and sporty little Coupè! Hope the next Video gives some more information about the tech specs! Here in Germany, the Citroën 2CV is nicknamed "Ente" (Duck) because of it's strangely perculiar Design! Pity, this one has never been a normal production model. I sure would have loved one of'em!
Amazing how a few small changes in the bodyline can make such a difference in the appearance! From Classic to Classy! That nose reminds me of a 1950s Maserati. Thanks for showing.... looking forward to the Kugelwagen series.
How funny, only just found this vid, love the 2cv, never seen the amazing Dagonet, was amazed u didn't pop the hood, went to comment and you were online less than an hour ago:) (Can't wait to see the engine, pls make sure the lightings good :) thanks , Matt (Future , customised 2cv , with bmw engine, owner.... Hopefully :^)
" I have always been told that you recognize the quality of a paint job at the quality of your reflect in the paint " Quite true but, you also... recognize the talent of a cameraman as you never see his reflection on a paint job.....or mirror :-))))) Lovely car.
He was showing his "reflect" LOL in the paintwork on purpose. Funny looking car. I like the roof line and contorted nose, but I could do without the Dyane dashboard and steering wheel and I would certainly have had no red vinyl on the seats - but its not my car so ... ! :-)

I have googled the 2cv dagonet, and most of the originals i found all were 4 door variants. The only two door was a chopped racer without a roof. But then, this was a Dyaneconverted into a dagonet
Yes. That's a good point. The owner of this one didn't like the look of the 4 door version and since this one is a replica he took the liberty to make it to his taste.
There are a few vids about the Dagonet on YT and bunch of informations on the Net, all in French but with lot of pics. This one looks like a phase 2 but don't think it's a real one. Under the bonnet, a slight increase in cc, carburetor change and double exhaust, no more. Panel was different as well. Body of phase 3 was fiberglass.
I was a panel beater for 35 years , at one garage a 2cv came in light front end smash , everyone refused to drive in and out waiting for the go ahead to fix , I was given the task so for 3 weeks pulled it in and out , the lad who hated it the most got the job to fix it and a DS , that learned him to keep his mouth shut LOL .
Never saw one in my life The back window is different too besides the front..It looks stronger somehow....Paint is fantastic Do you know how many have been made?
First time I've seen one of these. Why didn't it go into production? Seems a shame for it to be a racing special. I bet most people who saw them race wanted one! I certainly do!
I think at the time these were "racing" there were much better "racers" for that price..... Pity about the interior in flash black and red and also the steering wheel from a much later Dyane but quite a nice car. To say the truth, I'd prefer a standard one but this is different and has charm.
Very Interesting...the bodywork flows beautifully, the paintwork is very nice, and it's kept in a spacious environment...but that hood scoop is so wrong! How many pigeons does he remove from the engine room after being sucked in? That scoop belongs on a Fiat...
That's not a Dagonet, the bonnet is way too high up close the windscreen, the entire car is most probably based on a late seventies 2cv6 as I'm told by the interior (speedometer, steering wheel... etc). Great Replica nevertheless !!!
Ensuite il dit "the only one I've ever seen!
That's the coolest Citroën I have ever seen. Like to have seen the drive line. One question I have ,does this have 4wheel steering? Just watching the owner put it away it appears that the rear tires are turning also. One more thing, fuck the motor vehicle's registration department of anywhere. We have the same assholes here that are very reminiscent of Hitler's Gestapo, who begin their public duty as bureau of vital statistics then became the most feared of NAZI organizations. The DMV in America is the same type of organization. Beautiful car, hopefully the government dosent decide to commandeer it or some other evil crap.
