Blue Magic is a great sealant (not a moisturizer). It seals in the moisture so well for me, that my hair was moisturized for an entire week. Plus it cuts down on the frizz, creating a more defined twist or braid out. I think 2020 might be the year that hair grease will make a comeback.
It made a comeback with me December 2017. Water, a good moisturizing leave in and seal with grease( caster oil is my favorite one) and my hair literally stay moisture for the whole week plus some. But it don't help me with my frizz problem. It still get an A+ from me. I just need to learn not to use so much.
@@thefactsaccordingtogabbie149 i love my Castor Oil...COLD PRESSED HEXANE FREE.I love my afro😁i even have little spiral coils, great for sealing, and moisture.#Love this young lady(star puppy)😂😂😂she's funny, informative, and im about to order my Star pillow😁😁💥
I started using grease as a sealant in 2018, and I’m never going back. It keeps my hair moisturized all week! But I’m not a fan of blue magic, it’s a bit too thin for me. Softee is what I love the most!
@@MartianBlues11 Really? Softee is even thicker than Blue Magic? Wow. Interesting. I usually used coconut/olive oil as a sealant but my hair ended up being dry after 2 days. I will still use Coconut oil in my deep conditioners, as a facial/body moisturizer, and for oil pulling, but I will not no longer be using it as a sealant. So I am like you in that regard. From now on, it's gonna be grease. No more oil sealants!
yes i agree although it is different for every individual since I myself have used the LCO method since September things have been alot better and I have seen alot more health which in the end sums it up to growth and alot of it. I hope she will find a product and technique that works for her though
Like a lot of people i went back to grease. People talk bad about it but my hair is never dry and its glowing. I was tired of wasting my money on those other products because of RU-vid. For 4c stick with what works.
Blue Magic is the TRUTH👏🏽❤ for winter months, I stretch my hair by doing a braid out, and at night I style it with rice water, then coconut oil, then blue magic castor oil, and my hair is growing twice as fast👏🏽❤
@@vivianembery4588 hey just a tip if you just let the rice water sit over night and the next day drain it and add some fragrant oil like lavender or peppermint it really helps and you can leave it in and smell yummy😋😋😋
I thought that's what grease is supposed to do. Sit on your hair and create a barrier from moisture loss and friction. Oils (grease is usually mineral oil) and butters do don't usually penetrate hair strands.
Please take note that "grease" like blue magic dose NOT DRY! it's like a solid oil and should be used sparingly for the best results. You get a lot of product in a jar because it's cheap to produce.
I've been greasing my scalp more to see if I see a difference. I have way too many products. And at this point I don't know what works anymore and what doesn't.
You are such a breath of fresh air! 🥰😁😆 I love your videos so much. The information you share is definitely helping my hair but your energy is helping my heart. ❤️ You always make me laugh and smile. Keep being YOU! 💯😁🥰
Ok so I’m weird just like you, and our hair texture is literally the exact same. Thin and all. And I just cut ALL my hair off for The 3rd time. Your my new go to channel. I’m obsessed 🤷🏽♀️😁
Love you! I could watch you all day! Why not use your cream as the styler. The almond jai twisting cream is my favorite for twist outs. It gives me definition for days with just a leave-in!
I have 4c hair and only need water and the blue magic with whatever mixtures they have (i.e. castor oil or Shea butter, jojoba and Japanese green tea leaves. The twist pattern comes out great for once.Try to cut back on how much you use on each piece, brush it through with a denman brush, and then twist.
I love how you compare what works for your hair. I use the LCO on my hair. I use the blue magic super sure gro grease to seal it all in. Keep up the good work.
Star puppy , you are so talented !! Thanks for brightening up our days ! Seriously, you should be a model. Stunning features and huge star personality xxx
Hey! 1. The LCO LOC and whatever similar methods don't moisturize hair. Water moisturizes hair. So when you cleanse your hair of buildup with a good shampoo you conditioner then seals water in your hair. Your styling aids such as UFD curly magic (because of the aloe vera) help to keep water in your hair strands so you don't have yo remoisturize for as much as 7 days. 2. Raw oils, grease, products laden with butters and oils can block water from the hair. The softness that they create isn't moisture. It's a film of lubrication. The same way basically grease is used to lubricate machines. 3. Grease, from your comments, is an inadequate styler. It's an inadequate styler for most people. There are products that are nourishing that can also help style your hair like UFD curly magic for a wash n go.(how you use product also maximizes positive outcomes) Based on professional direction (from The Black Girl Curls cosmetologist) fluff nugget is not supposed to give you the woes that it does. Any natural hair can be care free. Hope to hear back from you! Fo Adunni Love them! I’ve been telling everyone to try their 30 day hair detox. Raw oils, butter, and grease are too much for the styles naturals want.
I think using hair grease is a great sealant!!! I usually use it when I would press my hair keeps it moistured until i wash it. I also grease my scalp with it as well so you really can't go to wrong with hair grease but alot of people just dont like it. I love it though. I cant wait until the day when you find the key products and method that works best for you. Give texture id styling creame a try one day when you have the chance. It is a really incredible moisturizing styling cream. I really enjoy it.😊👌
I use LCO method. I have high porsity hair. L- aloe vera C- melanin haircare twisting cream ( moisturzing af!!!!!) O- castor oil or melanin haircare oil Great video ❤️😍
@@cupcake2053 to be honest I'm not sure I have type 4 hair. Try looking up reviews with type 3a hair. Maybe if you see a couple positive ones it's worth a try.
I try to keep my regimen and products minimal. I love camille rose coconut products and their leave-in is so wonderful. I like to water down my leave in though and place it in a spray bottle. Apply a thick oil/sealant and a light cream since my hair doesn't seem to like ANY creams and rather water and a good sealant. This does mean I have to restyle once a week however.
Water- shea - leave in conditioner works for my 4c. Have you tried it in a twist out, Key is to let the twist out dry well or stay twisted for 2-3 days. Your style will stay for 10-14 days.
Hello hello Aquarian (Feb. 5th b-day). OK, Imma say something crazy. I have high porosity hair and my hairstylist told me this and it works for me: leave in (water, even though distilled water in the spray bottle leaves hair softer), oil (dime size of shea butter or cupuacu butter), moisturizer on top (dime size and camille naturals works for me) and styler last. ("stylers" that work are pattern beauty leave in, urban naturals leave in or curling cream, carols daughter's coco cream butter or camille naturals twisting cream. (The last two are moisturizer and styler in one). And I'm moisturized for 4-5 days at a time sleeping in perm rods and a bonnet. Try this - this when I started sealing in the cupuacu or shea butter, my hair stopped being so dry.
Ima tell you now, I can't get past the first 10 seconds of this video because you are TOO funny 😭😭 I've replayed it at least 4 times already 😭 Edit: now that ive finally watched the whole video, I personally think that yr hair came out absolutely wonderful. It was full, had definition, and even.
Eveytime I watch the moisture videos i die inside lool. I never comment but I have suggestions. As you have type 4 hai. the leave in you use should always be a moisturising leave in esspecislly if you have low porosity hair. 1.spray warm to hot water (I mix mine with aloe juice) 2. Thick moisturising leave in conditioner (I use cantu Argon oil leave in) 3. Seal with oil (I use a mix-jamaican black castor oil, grape seed, avacado, jojoba, mint) 4. Moisturising cream (I use shea moisture intensive hydration Manuka and honey custard) Work all products into your hair. Also pantene deep conditioner gold series is the best conditioner I've ever had. Hope this helps :) PS I have type 4 low porosity Dry Dry dry dry dry dry hair lol
My fingers are gonna fall off from continuing to type this, but the CRN Almond Jai is both the cream AND the styler, lovey!! LOL My family used Ultra Sheen, but the Blue Magic still triggered those flashbacks!!
I think you should try using a leave in a cream and a gel or end with an oil cause oil doesnt soak into the hair it coats it so anything you put on top isnt getting into the hair
Can you try some of the mane choice products? I have very similar hair to yours and the deep conditioner and leave in from the pink lemonade and tropical moringue works sooo well with absorption
@@Penelope416 that's the truth. But I wonder why the natural community hid this from us? We already prefer thick, long hair (with looser curl types though type 4 hair will be appreciated only when it's long), and then, we hide a sealant that can help promite healthier hair, retain length, and reduce breakage. We are toxic as a community, and we need to fix that.
@@shreksspawn2359 I think it's because of certain ingredients that grease contains. There was a lot of misinformation going around, over 10 years ago about how petroletum-based products clog the hair shaft. It's not that petroletum clogs the hair shaft, it's that it's so good at sealing IN the moisture, that the thick substance does not let any moisture in. However, if the grease is used correctly (as a sealant and not a moisturizer, as grease cannot moisturize hair) then the grease will be more effective than oil, at length retention. I remember when we were all kids, and we shampooed, conditioned, used a moisturizer and grease. Those were the only products we used back then as kids and most of us had healthy, longer hair back then. Some people just use water and grease and their hair still thrives. Now we have all of these overpriced, natural hair products, while sealing in with an oil and our hair is dry and isn't thriving anymore. Yet we're being told to continue to use these expensive products so we will eventually see the length retention. But we've experienced opposite results. It may sound like a conspiracy but I think the idea of "demonizing" hair grease was a way to have these other companies profit from us. And for years we (even I) believed them.
1. Omg, you’re an Aquarius (my bday is Feb 2), so your weirdness makes perfect sense! lol💖 2. I have fine, high density strands and olive oil is my enemy! It’s too heavy, plus it makes my low porosity hair crawl through the desert begging for water 😥
OMG sorry I should have been more clear! I'm a Pisces(the Glub Glub Gang), but the later weekends in February are usually tough to organize for 🥺 love my Aquarius Cousins though! Dasani Gang!!!
