Congratulations Jay! You are the winner of the ugly duckling challenge. Your piece embodies the idea of an Ugly Duckling turning into a Beautiful Swan!
@@Flippingdrawers what a kind and accurate bestowing. Proud if your work. When a piece of thing is restored it gives me hope that the living person can be salvaged and repaired also. It is a hopeful action full of faith.
Jay does such beautiful work. I'm so glad for him. Now that he has his new studio things are just getting better and better for him. Just wanted to tell you, Corey, that I think your idea of having seasonal Ugly Duckling challenges was a stroke of genius. Consider that you are bringing furniture lovers and furniture flippers together literally from all over the world. Jay is in the UK, there are people from Australia, I know of one gentleman from Wales, and of course a hard core of Americans. Thanks for doing this Corey, and JAY, BEAUTIFUL WORK! You deserved this win. Great job!
What a beautiful end result after all of the work you put into it. I like the curved wooden legs you actually used much more than the first option you considered. I wish the people who left this dresser on the curb could have a chance to see it transformed.
You should definitely be the WINNER of this challenge. You found the ugliest piece and gave it so much love, respect, and patience. Your skills are incredible. This all comes from a girl who paints everything and declares there should be no unpainted furniture.
It is hard to believe that it is the same wreck you started with. It is better than new and someone will be lucky to have it. Thank you for sharing your genius with us. Love that cat!
I can't believe watchers don't subscribe! I don't ever want to miss one of your AMAZING transformations. This was a piece that I would have walked away from. You clearly see possibilities where others don't. This is an excellent example of your great eye and tremendous skills. Thank you for sharing!! CHEERS 😉❤
The amount of work put in to that dresser was amazing and in the end paid off with incredible results. From ugly to sheer beauty, you are definitely a eye for detail and original looks.
My mother watched this video together with me, she was surprised by the change of this piece: from a piece that was doomed to turn into a fire... to furniture that is almost a decoration item. And she also fell in love with the dresser. The work is excellent. Greetings from Brazil!
Jay, you really amaze me everytime. Mind blowing how much you've grown, it's not flipping anymore it's artistry in the making. Master Crafter and editor. I just love what you do.
Jay…awesome transformation. I love oak. And, yes, because I know so little about how you do what you do,my comments are purely the visual response I get based on my value system. I watch the transformation from beginning to end and the work you do MAKES a new product appear. The elegance that was originally intended is improved upon by your personal commitment to your aesthetic…your sense of what a piece can attain to. THAT is your super-power that just does make everything YOU do very special and individual. Every piece you do brings a new aesthetic beauty. These are words I chose to attempt to share with you how your work is the fine art of rehabilitation AND RECONSTRUCTION that adds value to a piece. Let me tell you that if I had money I would purchase almost every piece you reconditioned and re-designed. It is my singular standing ovation which I, and others, think you deserve. It is always exciting to watch your work and you film it all in a very compelling presentation…and that is another accomplishment that is too easily taken for granted….BRAVO, beautiful JAY/ARTIST/HUMAN!!!! Thank you for sharing and sharing very well!
So beautiful! You have an amazing talent to see the beauty hiding in these abused and neglecting pieces and the ability to make them shine once again! 👏🏻👏🏻
You really brought this piece from “rags to riches” and in all her new jewellery she looks so fine. If only perseverance and passion came in a spray can, we would be doing the same! It is so rewarding after you put in all the sweat and you maintain a code of excellence in all your work, then you never have to regret what you have done. I was surprised that the replacement drawer could be built so successfully. Thank you for the video! Blessings from Canada 🇨🇦
It is so wonderful to see that people are still into wood working and shop and enjoy doing things with their hands. Thank you very much. Amazing job. Beautiful outcome.
WOOOOO HOOOOO, Im part of that 18.8% group! Im really glad you changed your mind about the feet, I didnt like those metal, geometric looking ones. The renvation turned out GREAT!! You did a super job making the missing drawer. Im glad you had tge front of it to work with. Thanks for sharing, I love your videos! 🙂
Wow!! Such an amazing makeover! You literally saved the life of this piece!! And your patience and smart choices throughout the project really paid off!! You are a master craftsperson!! 💚
I'm in the UK, and it's great to see you use products that I can actually buy. Your attention to detail is so inspiring, it looks like you actually care for the piece you are working on, rather than just doing a quick makeover to make money. I wish I had all your tools! Making dove tail joints for the first time, using new tools, must have been challenging. You are a joy to watch, and funny too. Well done, you deserved the win ;)
Wow! Your work shows that things aren’t disposable and not to judge a book by its cover. It’s amazing what a bit of care can do to the tired and the weary. As always beautiful job.
The end result made me cry. Oh, JOY!! So grateful for my hands. Our hands. Our working HANDS. ❤🎉🎉🎉😊 I have been a subscriber for quite awhile now. You are amazing ❣️❣️👍🏼💯🍀🍀🍀
Thank you so much ❤️ watching from the beginning to the end, liking and commenting is honestly very helpful and the best you can do. It tells RU-vid that you enjoy the video so it will be recommended to others.
What a wonderful little dresser, and you gave it life again! Thank you, for saving it. I am a fan of your work, and am inspired to try and save a diamond in the rough, one day. We just purchased a new home, so our finances/savings are obliterated, but it has a workroom, and one day, I will have money saved again! Then, I will fund some tools at a second hand store, and begin my restoration journey 😀 Thank you, for being one of my mentors. Hope you, and those you love, are doing well!
very nice to see, there's people who like old things and restore them . I like old things too, mostly second hand clothing . i buy them for about 50 cents per item , and turn it into patchwork ., like shoppingbags or plaids , my costumers buying it like crazy .and buttons too,i decorate my hoodies with it , so funny what you can do with second hand things . here in this appartement complex where old people live , i'd always ask them is they have wool or old cushions , and I turn it into new . i'm never out of work ,always staying busy , keeps you healthy in mind and body .
I’ve only just found your channel and am only going to allow myself to binge five videos this afternoon! I can’t believe the job you’re doing on this episode. I would not have even looked twice at it on the side of the road. You are truly a master! Great job!❤
I live in the USA - your video projects are the best news of my day - thank you for sharing your talent and keeping landfills free of some toss always - you are an inspiration to many 🙏
an amazing restoration. Congratulations, you did such a good job and turned such a damaged piece of furniture into something so classy. You have so much patience and skills. 💗💗💗💗
This one has blown me away. You just keep getting better and better at what you do. I have to say when your stripping it’s so satisfying to watch. Hang on the paint stripping the paint I mean.
I love seeing the wood emerge as the paint is scraped away. What a challenge, for sure with this piece. As always, though, you manage to create Masterfully. I always enjoy seeing a kitty in your videos. The piece is just stunning with the great handles you chose as well as the second choice for the legs.
How many of you remember how long ago it was that you would have thrown away that chest thinking it was too far gone. And it makes you remember pieces that you DID throw away that could have been saved. I have many regrets. Fantastic work, Jay.
