Thanks for the superb review. I really liked this format, very detailed and thorough. I agree with your points in my experiences with this string, I wish they had a thinner gauge as I’m not a super strong power player but am always looking for spin friendly strings. My current set-up is with Solinco Confidential 1.15 in my Ezone 100. The Restring Zero I find makes the racquet heavy, and i have to string lower like your recommendation which gives me a really nice heavy shot, but I have to swing full out to get the pocketing and spin otherwise I lack control and the ball flies. Confidential in renowned for it’s predictability, but I find Zero is great for full swings, but I struggle with touch and in between shots. Looking forward to hearing your recommendation for hybrid set-up.

Superb review; very comprehensive! How would this work with a gut hybrid: gut in the mains, zero in the crosses? Would the fact that it's shaped make it liable to notch-wear the gut?

@tantennis

Zero main with Wasabi X cross or Confidential 3.0 RD cross or Hyper G cross work well. It helps lifting the launch angle on Radical and not demanding that much. Otherwise you can just go for full-bed Hyper G.

Thanks for the review Tan. How is it on the arm in terms of pain from the stiffness?
@tantennis
@tantennis 5 месяцев назад
So far I don’t have any problems with it. I don’t even think it’s a stiff string, but I never strung Zero over 50 lbs. Some of my clients who complain about stiffness are those who go above something like 52 lbs. As I said in the video, you can immediately notice that Zero really does not stretch when pull tension, unlike other polys, so I’m not surprised if it will be stiff when you go high tension.

I just tried it ps97 v14 at 24-23kg. I have a large flattish stroke with very high racket head speed. And I have to say I quite liked it. I normally play with hyper g soft and I was having a hard time keeping my balls in. With restring way more of my shots stay in so I completely agree with your description of it gives more control with powerful strokes. And it seems to have way more playability duration. At least double even triple as long as hyper g soft. It is more crisp and feels stiffer. I am getting to like stiffer polys more and more so I enjoyed it.

Would you say your evaluation of not being compatible applies to the Pure Strike 100 16x19? It has a bit more power with a larger head and slightly more open strings.
@tantennis
@tantennis 6 месяцев назад
Yea I just strung it on the new Pure Strike 100 16x19 thought it would work but I think it puts too much SW on the racket and makes it head heavy. Takes too much effort for groundstrokes. I think it could be better with other setups such as regular Hyper G.

I mainly use two piece set up and was using restring zero at 49 wasabi x 47 on my vcore 2023. I tested the tension with the gamma reader and it read it at 56. My arm definitely hurt as a result. I wonder if the new toroline snapper would work better as a cross. And lowering overall tension to maybe 44x41. my usual tension is 52x49 wasabi / kirschbaum silver 17. I wonder if it's too steep a change or if the strings quality (rs0)will work better as a result.

Yes. Cut the entire Zero out. It’s a total joke! Wasabi is interesting and will give it a try sometimes but the ultimate shaped poly that is easy on the arms is the Volkl V-Square in 17 gauge. Give it a try and come back and tell me I was wrong… it is the slickest strings out there with the lowest string-to-string friction and very high string to ball friction. The highest top spin potential according to TW. The only downside is that, it will not last long. However, if you are a competitive player, you will cut these out after 2 hours.

Price differs by country. In the US I think it’s in middle range tho. $14 a set and you can always use 10% off discount code. Hyper G is $13 a set so it’s the same. In other countries I think you have to wait until they have distributors then price will go down.

Overpriced, harsh string. Just not worth the money. There are so many better shaped polys out there eg. Head Lynx Tour, MSV Focus Hex, Volkl Cyclone etc etc all at a cheaper cost.
@wilsoch
@wilsoch 6 месяцев назад
Zero lasts much longer than any of those. Lynx Tour is the closest in terms of longevity, and it's a good string, but it's also a heavy string, and it loses playability much quicker. Cyclone and Hex don't even compare.
