What if you want to put a rest long after you've placed the notes. Say, you want to go back to edit but don't want to delete everything back to that place? How do you put rests then?

This is my question too. I put in the notes, now I want to add some rests. I can't do this. Do I have to delete the measure and create a new measure? Also the MuseScore that I bought seems harder to use than the free one

But, suppose you have 4/4 time and you only want a quaver rest and a quaver note in the very first bar, it keeps filling in extra rests itself, how you can you just have a one beat in the first bar and three beats in the last bar of the section? I mean an anacrusis ah I've got it box and right click then seek bar measures within tab.

I cannot figure out how to add rests to an existing measure with notes in it. Also, I bought MuseScore and it does not look like the version you are displaying. For example, there is no line with icons of rests, notes, etc. Is the one I paid for harder to use than the one that is free?

Same here... no matter how many tutorials I watch, I simply don't have those same icons.

Make sure you're in note input mode (press N)

How do you do Multimeasure rests within MuseScore 2 and do you have a video that covers this topic? for an example if a song that has a Multimeasure rest that has a number 11 over it in common time. Also if you are just putting together a lead sheet and you fill up the first page your working on. How do you start a new page within the song that your working on? lets say your songs has 4 pages to it.
