CherryTheGod you don't have to do it everyday.... but it'll make it happen quicker... I did it every week for a month, instead of my regular regime. I think maybe one week I did it twice (minus the cherry lola)
Ur hair is beautiful! I love the elasticity and the shrinkage in your hair....now that i understand natural hair, i realise that those arr good characteristics for the hair to have. Thank you for sharing. Afro texture hair is amazing! We just need to love our hair. Its beautiful!
The method I use is exactly the same, but I do it every 4 days or 5. I've achieved max hydration from it, so it isn't necessary to do it daily, but you get results faster if you do :D
I tried this last week, and I must say, it really is a tough job, but it works. I really loved the bentonite clay on my hair, but it irritated my skin so bad. Before trying this, I had no idea what my curl pattern looked like. It surprised me that it worked, since nothing else seems to. I wish the bentonite clay didn't irritate my skin so much because it works wonders on my hair.
Let me tell you, do not have the clay touch your scalp. I couldn't take it touching my scalp either and I leave about 1 - 2" away from my roots to save me the drama.
If you do this.. start at night.. (the day before you have a free day) Do a Cherry Lola. Then, deep condition over night. Wake up.. do a clay mask. Condition again. Then style. Then if you have time do it again during the week, but I promise it's not necessary every day. Yes you'll see results quicker. But it's not necessary. I've done this. I'm super low po! I just big chopped again. I started my max hydration last night and finished it this morning.
OMG that looks awesome! I was all in ready to do this then you said EVERYDAY... wait? What? I’ll just have to admire yours. I think being natural is especially hard for me as I run everyday outside. So my hair is alway dealing with the extreme cold (like today 19°) or the extreme hot (summer). I wear hats but then that leads to sweat moisture always messing up any style... ugh. My struggle is so real but i guess my fitness is more important to me... ugh. I thank you for this awesome video and the excellent comments by your subscribers!
I love your curls! I did the MHM for 7 days this summer and my hair was more defined than i've ever seen it, I have low porosity type 4b/c(ish) hair. I would love to do it again maybe next summer but as you said....the time is takes makes you want to literally cry. lol
I had heard of this method a long time ago but never considered it. I was inspired by this video and the other one on the cherry lola treatment. I did the cherry lola with your recipe (minus the egg and baking soda) and a good moisture dc. It was soo awesome on my 4b/c high po hair. Then 2 weeks later I did the rest of the steps (also with a good dc session). I have seen good results instantly. The front of my hair used to always be frizzy but it actually curled right away. I will keep doing it about every week or two depending on what type of wig I wear daily. Thanks for the inspiration. You made it look doable.
I use to do this method too for like 7 months. it is a lot of work and it changed my hair color. Now I just do it once a month to keep my hair moisturized.
Frank Murphy you don't have to do this everyday. I did it once a week for a month. The last week I did it twice. It took longer, but I could tell the difference gradually. And at the end my hair was moisturized more than ever.
SUPER CUTE BEAUTIFUL RESULTS AND WORK!!! but i think maybe you could achieve look with only a con wash and shingling with a product????????? ( 2 easy steps perhaps)
Hi there! Will be doing the mhm soon! I've watched this video over 10 times already lol! I'm so excited!!! Thank you for sharing. I just have one simple question: Since this is my first time doing it do I do the Cherry Lola Caramel Treatment just on day one or should I include it everyday for the 7 days?
Quick question, every day you do the same method, ie: vinegar wash, clay wash, flax etc? Or you did it once and watched how it processed until day 5? Thanks 😊
I am going to attempt this method this weekend, would I need to clarify daily? And can I use Moroccan red clay with the method? Thanks in advance for your reply, and I appreciate the time you took to make this video I watched it about 5-6 times☺️
Hey! It helps if you do clarify daily, but you definitely don't have to! Especially if your hair is responding well to the modification. Also yes, any clay should work. Good Luck 😊
So question, 1)you are the first person I've found with my exact hair type. But the question is how does finger detangling work exactly? Like from what I was seeing you werent going through your roots so ia it just to detangled the ends and rest of your hair? Ive never finger detangled and have always comb my hair during conditioning. But i want to try finger detangling to help retain my curls better because i also never really where my natural curl pattern out. I stay with my hair in twists and then i wash and go that hair and have a twist out hairstyle, but never my natural curl pattern/ mostly because if I do my hair will frizz up from air drying which Ive realized comes from my not keeping my hair moisturized. So yea my basic question is about detangling
Hi, im thinking of trying this method. I was wondering when you say everyday do you mean you creat the same batch everyday and use that? Also what do you use to moisturise your hair after you've reached maximum hydration? And will your hair keep the pattern or is this some thing you have to upkeep regularly ? X
Robyn Marshall Yes! I do each step except the cherry Lola everyday for 5-7 days. The Kinky curly knot today serves as your moisture or you can use other leave ins like Paul Mitchell "the conditioner" or whatever moisturizer you usually use.
So at the end of your cherry lola video you deep condition, should we still deep condition then do step 1 clay rinse followed up by another deep condition?
I’m really wondering if I do the max hydration method 7 day challenge do I need to keep doing the clay rinses to maintain curls afterwards or can I just do a regular wash n go?
Aeon Dro Hey! It all depends if you feel your hair 'needs' hydration. If your hair is accepting water and moisture well, your hair will naturally curl. If not, that usually means your cuticle is closed or have build-up. If so, you should continue doing clay rinses which clears out your cuticle making your hair hold moisture better. Just examine your hair and how it reacts. Also, just keep in mind... This method is mostly about hydration. Not about making curls!
I know you said u didn't want to do this again because of the long process... but how often would u recommend this regimen? One a month or every 3? How long did you continue to see results after this regimen? thanks for sharing-😙
Basically the preconception is that you do this for 7 days consecutively and then reduce it to every 2-3 days and then eventually you will be doing it every 4-5 days. It takes several months of this before you can even stretch it to 7 days. The truth of the matter is water needs to touch your hair every 2-3 days to maintain a decent level of hydration so even if you don't do all these steps. You would still need to water wash and reapply your leave in and gels to have any hope of maintaining that fantastic curl.
Desiree Martinez Yep, weekly honey. It's so time consuming but I feel if you do this weekly and top up your moisture levels twice during the week, you'll be good. Be it through water washing or just through spritzing it with water and sealing it.
I just use wen by chad dean. he does all of the natural products like the first half of the mhm treatment but it's easier, already mixed and less expensive when bought by the gallon and you can leave it in as a leave in conditioner.
The original method (which is what I'm doing in this video) is to be done everyday for 5-7 days straight. But I, as well as others here on RU-vid have created a modified, simpler version with the same results. You just have to find out what works best for your hair.
Zainab S. If you need hydration, then yes, you can do it on any hair type. If it's the curls you want, then no. It won't create curls on chemically treated or heat damaged hair.
