WHAT WATCH NEXT: Be sure and watch the original video we did of the Willow Grove School with historical narration by historian Darren Shell ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-_992DZ2_F0o.html
This was interesting. I've used USD double hose regulators for over 50 years and have rebuilt many. I've always used new parts but kept the old parts. Thanks for showing the process you use to resurface seats. Can't locate new DA Aqua-Master HP seats, so will try resurfacing. The new Royal Aqua-Master seats are Teflon, think this process would work on those?
I have a Dacor Olympic 400 regulator. I have polished the seat as you describe. I am told however that the seat material is rubber, old, and subject to failing. Do you have any opinion on what I have been told? Thanks, John
Have never worked on one of those regs, but if the seat is rubber polishing probably will not work. You "MIGHT" soften it with silicone grease, but it would probably be a long shot.
