I can best explain this situation as follows: when watching an RTS cast the number one thing you need/want is to see the most relevant action on the screen. Well if I have a big UI with many unit icons in the middle/top of the screen (the most valuable area of vision) I find getting my camera on the most relevant actions much trickier and more hard work. So over the course of a tournament series, I find I'd miss more, or have harder time getting the camera on the action the majority of the time. So that for me takes priority over the viewer getting to see the new relic default UI which shows both armies simulatenously.

@@Schaden-freude They also give vision, so you won't have your tommies getting shredded by bumbling into MG positions or enemy vehicles, rather you can spot them ahead of time and force them away with Mortars and AT gun fire, or go around.

it has more to do with coh3 vanilla maps not being well tuned for tournament play

the problem is they aren't releasing any maps and to my knowledge modders/mapmakers have been remaking some of the old maps. (COH2 also had 'fanmade' 'official' maps in rotation)

Wdym? Pachino stalemate, twin beaches, road to tunis are good examples of maps that the players like. In fact, coh 3 had the most new maps that got accepted and liked compared to coh 2s awful cast

@@TheFlohRiDa most 'new' maps were accepted yes. The remakes of COH2 maps. Bessides that, I've basically only heard complaints from longterm fans.

Objectively more popular that SD2 and Warno, COH3 is the more popular tactical RTS for casual players.
