Have a question. Hope you can help me. I have CC and for my project when I first imported it. I just deleted the skeleton and re assigned the UE4 as the Skelton and it automatically creates the extra bones I need. Seems like it works good but for some animators. For example kubold sword and shield, or kubold long sword animation set. Some of the animations done align properly and they arms or wrist twist and look weird. I’m guessing restarting the project and doing retargeting my animations like this would work much better?

Hello, yes sometimes there are problems and it doesn't always work perfectly. Instead of retargeting, you can try by selecting the UE4 skeleton when importing the character.

hey man, great video, loved the bg music too! Question about after it's retargeted, what about using the manny's control rig? How can I transfer that control rig over? What do u advise?

Hello, if you mean to use the Manny rig file directly, you should use the rig file you created for your character instead. Because manny and cc4 skeletal structures are not the same.

@@Yepkoo ah yes, I was hoping i could alter the manny Control rig to use with cc4 character. I don't think I can export a control rig from cc4 though, unless I'm mistaken.

@@beyondcinema Unfortunately, CC4 does not export the rig file. If you choose the UE4 mannuquin when importing your character, you can use the UE4 mannuquin rig file. However, this may not always work properly.

Hi, I couldn't test it because CC3 is not installed. But retargeting is done pretty much the same way. You can also choose the UE4 mannequin for the skeleton if you are using the standard CC3 or CC4 character. This should work.

Hey, Yepkoo! I´m having problems with retargeting UE5 animations towards the CC4 character (aka UE4 skeleton). Everything turns out well at the first glance, but I can´t get the root animation transferred. For example I´m trying to retarget the Ue5 animation MF-Run_fwd from the lyra project. Any ideas?

Hello, The MF-Run_fwd animation file must belong to the standard UE5 mannequin. In other words, I did not come across an animation with this name in the lyra project. In conclusion, when I tested it, I can say that the MF-Run_fwd animation and lyra animations were successfully retargeted to the CC4 character. You may have missed something while watching the video. In particular, you should make sure to right-click the pelvis and mark it as "Set retarget root".

@@Yepkoo Good morning and thank for taking your time to answer. I just made a video of the problem. As you can see, the root animation works fine for the original UE5 skeleton, and even the retargeting looks correct, but the root bone doesn´t move in the retargeted UE4 animation. can somebody tell me why I can not import Shader without Error? Miss RL Shader Data at several points importing Kevin to Unreal 5.1 The live link is doing what exactly? I could not select HQ Textures, like you. And the final Import is black...why? I could import other figures from CC4 to unreal pretty well.

Did you include the latest version of the auto setup plugin in your project? Sometimes there are errors such as copying these plugins to the wrong folder. The reason why it looks black may be because there is no shader folder in the content folder. The live link allows you to animate the character in realtime only. @@Yepkoo yes I did. I tested not only your settings, but others, including Reallusion. Same problem everywhere. Seems it is a U5.1 problem. After some tests it worked out in 5.03 finally, somehow. Not sure yet if everything is imported like it should. Thank you for your reply

@@Yepkoo btw. if anyone cares! Before I followed your video. I imported 4 CC4 Characters into the same U5.1 Project. But without animations and standard Shaders. It worked well and was quick in comparison to DAZ import with white eyes or other programs. So I am not sure why my Import broke up or got black materials.

BVH dosyasını CC4/iC8 ile import edebilmeniz için önceden hazırlanmış bir profil dosyasına ihtiyacınız var. Bunu blender vb programlarla hazırlayabilirsiniz. Eğer iClone 7 ve 3DXchange varsa o programlarlada yapabilirsiniz.

You can try to import the character directly by selecting the UE4 mannequin.

If CC4 has a UE importer plugin why do you have to retarget? Sorry I'm trying to see if I want to buy CC4 and looking for a faster workflow. Thanks

Hi, if you are going to use the CC4 character and also not using the animations of the UE, retargeting will not be required. Often when importing the CC4 character, choosing the UE4 skeleton may also work. So retargeting will be much easier.

@@Yepkoo Just figured this out. You can import a Mixamo motion fbx into CC4 for the the current CC4 character. Then export the clothed character fbx but only export the motion. This converts the motion to use CC4's skeleton once imported to Unreal.

I dunno wtf him doing after 5:03. IK? Whats happened? No exist it. In easy part of video have subtitles, on hard part no subtitles, only strange voodoo magic.

Hello; The part you mentioned in the video shows retargeting by matching the bones of the UE5 character and the CC4 character with the same names. So there is no way to explain it. I just need to show it. Head, hands, arms, legs etc. Actually, you can directly select the UE4 skeleton when importing the CC4 character. You can use the ready rig file of the UE4 skeleton. You can use this method for non-standard characters imported from CC4.
