Best check your arithmetic... 18 miles deep by, say, 60 miles wide and counting equals 1080 square miles and growing. The area within Russia that Ukraine is now controlling might well be 1,000 square miles and more.

I think it’s all mostly a spectacle trying to keep support for a dying cause that could never be won. This war is only about baiting Russia into depleting their military capabilities and stockpiles in order to lessen the threat to Europe at the expense of Ukraine. Aside from occupation of the power plant, what goals can be achieved by this military move? I think aside from the POWs as negotiation bargaining chips, it’s wasting equipment and manpower for little to no gains. So they slapped Putin in the face. Look what it’s costing. Ukraine wants more equipment and yet wastes it on making a media statement and sacrificing their men.. I don’t support stupidity.
