I have not even watched it yet and I know its gold. 3DO was my jam as a kid. My mother bought it on sale for $200.00, and somehow didn't think she spent enough and bought ALL the games for $0.50 each! Love it!!

Loved my 3DO , i got the one bundled with Gex... love that game. I also recall that road rash on 3DO was the hardest mode play. Oh, and when you played music disc's it would show a graphics show to the music like, "Information society, Pure energy". thanks for bringing back good memories.

I wore out my sampler disc while I waited for my brother to get more 3DO releases. I love FMV games. We played The Horde so much too.

In '94, I was working at a toy store called PlayCo Toys. We had a 3DO hooked up where you could play some demo games. I loved playing on it after I finished work for the day. I wanted one but never could afford it. Funny thing was, we stocked the 3DO for about a year and sold only 3 or 4

Great video and I loved being able to catch it during the live stream. I have a lot of fond memories of Amiga demo disks. Back in the 80s-90s when there weren’t free to play games, getting a demo disk is often your only way to try out some new video games (well, except rental, but that didn’t cover the Amiga for me). I’d spend hours on a demo disk and often revisit them

I mastered the Ferrari drift lol. Road rash was my second favorite driving game, it had great music built into the game.

I'm a huge fan of the 3DO! Gex, Road Rash & Return Fire, especially. And if anyone hasn't seen it, LGR did a really fascinating video on the Creative Labs 3DO Blaster card, which packed a full 3DO onto an ISA expansion card! What a wild console...

I saw that the other day! What was so interesting about the 3DO was that it was trying to build itself as a platform vs. a hardware company.

My uncle had one. This was during the time the Sega Genesis was the KING of the 16-Bit era. Seeing this console and its games at that time as a kid my mind was blown away. "Video and actual live soundtrack music in a game? What is this sorcery?" Way of the Warrior looked so clean and crisp with those TV's of that era, the music was in your face. So many good memories. Road Rash my favorite though along with the near perfect arcade Street Fighter.

Somehow convinced my parents to buy me one for Christmas when I was a kid, now looking back, I appreciate my parents that much more as I had no clue how expensive it was at the time.

Heck! I still have my Panasonic 3DO console & with many CD games & the dvd player with a COMMANDO movie as well. I need to get it out my closet & play with it again.

there was a similar system lon called the cd-i which apparently not only would run games on there but it would also with the digital video cartridge would also play movies whether it be a cdi movie or a vcd and it would be interesting to look at the cdi

The cool thing about the 3DO was that it did better video than the Playstation, so the FMV games were actually superior over the PSX ports. Prime example was Wing Commander III (one of the best games on the system!). LOVED my 3DO.

Way of the Warrior was one of Naughty Dog's first games! It may not be great but thanks to it Naughty Dog was able to secure a deal with Universal Interactive and created Crash Bandicoot. The rest is history.

I remember the singer from the 80s band Information Society used to work at Crystal Dynamics back in the 90s. I wonder if he helped on their 3DO games, or if he was in that group photo at the end.

A friend of mine game me his FZ10 model with some games a few years after the PS1 came out. He was like, "Playstation is so much better, They're not making games for that system anymore. It's yours." Still to this day have it.

I was born in 1994, and I've never played a 3DO, but I always thought it seemed cool. I saw one in person, a shop was selling it with a big stack of games for about four hundred bucks, and I was tempted but I made the responsible decision. There's always emulation though, I've messed around with 4DO and had a good time. I really hope the MiSTer project gets a 3DO core one of these days.

I miss my 3D0. Yes, I paid $700 for it. 1992 Way of the Warrior was the first Naughty Dog game. Then Crash Bandicoot. Then Uncharted.

Oh man. That intro music was used for decades on a podcast I used to listen to. What production album does it come from? I love the 3do, there's nothing else like it, it actually a lot going for it, it was the first console to have a headphone jack in the controller, something modern consoles do now. The price is what killed it.

@@elvisisalive2716 That game is Killing Time and it was an amazing FPS on 3DO. I have over 300 games for 3DO so I think I have played everything they made for the system as well as a dozen or so homebrews ;)

Im questioning your knowledge on the games (especially the horde)... Like crops and trees provided cash. I mean i was super young playing the game. That game was one i always wanted. Like my brother would have a ton of knights and the rainbow ring. And like having cows gain you money... My question is if the horde was your favorite how come muscle memory didnt come back and the unsurity of the demo? Not putting you down though, you should of showed off your skill on the horde. What was your favorite game on 3do? Mine was wolfenstien 3d. Like i didnt have all the awesome games but, there were sooooooo many!!! Honestly if 3do's werent vintage price i would love to invest in a 3do and have all the games i couldnt have or didnt have plus the classics!!! Kool vid though showing and (my opinion) having a video about one of the greatest systems in the world!!! 3do for its time and then of course sony... 90's kid... 3do still beats every system and games by far. Way better than pc too other than the cool version of duke nukem. Cool vid

I remember see 3D0s demo'ed at Good Guys(think a little bit smaller version of Circuit City) and being really impressed. I am so glad I didn't get it for Christmas or anything because it just wasn't that good. If they had maybe waited a year to make it more powerful, could have competed better against the PS1/SS but it was just underpowered and lacked alot of really good exclusive games.

Hope we get USA back! We NEED A FREE OPEN MARKET where it is much easier to have MANY DIFFERENT FLAVORS OF GAMING CONSOLES. Instead of having only what the 3 Video Game Console GOD'S & what they let this whole world be aloud to play, we have become carbon copy clones that ALL Fall under 1 of 3 Systems (yeah, there's different "genres" but ultimately those have made just a few variants of Gamer Groups.), Nintendo, Playstation or Xbox! Originality is by the wayside. We soo need MANY the fresher, DIFFERENT and willing to produce "unique" games. In our now a days market there is no freedom and protection against those 3 behemoths. Imagine a bunch of companies making new games for old systems like 3do, intellivision, colecovision, Sega Saturn, Dreamcast? I mean opening up the market so they have a fighting chance! There is so many 40-70+ yr olds that would buy em up quickly and that would quite possibly get our younger generation into games you do more then run around button mashing killing. They had to do a lot more back then to make a game that counted and they are all still very unique compared to now where most all the games are just movies where ya just rapidly button push and run to the next marked area, real tough, lol!

As a 30 year old that grew up on the SNES, a lot of old games sucked dick. They had jack all to do outside of what you were supposed to do, a lot of them were linear as shit, the ones that weren't were needlessly confusing, and the rare ones that failed to be either are still copied to this day. I've been replaying a lot of old games, PS1 was in this era, and you know what I'm realizing? A game was like 10 hours long. For $60. For fucking real. People were really paying full price for ONE SPYRO GAME, and that shit lasts like 10 hours, max, if you try to collect everything and you're not five. Modern games tend to have a lot more meat on them, more to do, see, experiment with, and sometimes collect too. It's a lot easier to justify $60 on a "Go here and do this" game like Horizon Zero Dawn than it is to imagine my parents going, "really? You want a platformer that lasts ten hours and costs how much again?" Nostalgia is a hell of a drug, my friend. Ween off it. Things aren't any better or worse than they used to be.
