Tommitytom, developer of RetroPlug, has a chat and demonstrates the new VSTi plugin (under development). RetroPlug is designed to host mGB / LSDJ in an emulation session with full ArduinoBoy compatibility. What does this mean? It means you can test your sets and manage your tunes easily in emulation within a DAW, but break out the real hardware (and write real SAV files for carts) for shows!
RetroPlug also runs as a standalone app for 2xLSDJ link opportunities with additional keyboard support and copy and paste between sessions.
Note: This is not designed as a "gameboy sounds" VSTi. It is specifically for people who MIDI trigger external Gameboys in their setup but be want to be able to test & manage without pulling out the hardware.

For MIDIMAP to work you need to have something in the pattern for it to trigger- In this video there was nothing in Chain 00. ;)

Could this be used to capture the notes made within LSDJ to a Tracker like OpenMPT, Carillo Editor, Milky Tracker for use with Gameboy homebrew development? I want to compose track in LSDJ on the go with my Gameboy, then load the .SAV onto my PC and "convert" it via MIDI to a Tracker so that I don't have to re-type all of the notes manually into the Tracker. Any info would be helpful!

Hi Blane, you need to open a Gameboy ROM - this could be something like LSDj (for a tracker) or MGB (if you just want to send midi notes to a gameboy)

Been meaning to go visit dr. abrasive and find out. It's a long flight away and quite expensive but hopefully by end of year. I've learnt a lot more about the FM sound chip. Could defs block out an instrument programmer for it - the problem is it's modular so it has between 1 and 32 tracks depending on how you config it. Tricky. AFAIK the flashcart is mostly working but a few games and programs bug it out. Again, really need to go poke dr. ab for more detail!
