Great work! I know it wasn’t the point of the video, but I’ve always heard that Tekken was quite unrefined as a fighting game compared to the great balance achieved with Street Fighter II. I don’t play fighting games but after a thorough review of Tekken, it makes me wonder if that popular knowledge was true.
As far as I could tell, Tekken is fairly similar to Street Fighter 2 in terms of balance! Heihachi is undoubtedly the best character in the game which somewhat mirrors Akuma's position in SF2. Certain playstyles don't translate to Tekken particularly well; Dhalsim is a much better equipped zoner than any of the Jacks, for example. Meanwhile, King and Armour King don't have the Zangeif struggle of actually getting in range to use their grabs.
For someone that doesn't play fighting games that much, this review is pretty thorough. LOL I was surprised that you didn't llike the PS1 controller for fighting games. Most people either play with a joystick or the ps controller. I stan the PS controller. Xbox controllers are garbage because the D in Dpad is a little hard to define. I actually got tired of it and bought a gaming pad for every system I have fighting games in. I started tekken on the 3rd one though so I'm not a purist. Great review as usual!
@@dadsfreetimeclassicgaming1220 I usually say its the X button, but X isn't a shape so it felt weird saying that after a list of other shapes haha I like the PS1 controller design, I just find the dpad to be harsh. It genuinely did give me a callus on my thumb
