It's so amazing how many game consoles existed since the 1970's! That's 5 decades of games, more than you can ever play in a lifetime... Think of all the hours and hours of hard work and programming the designers of all these games put into them. It's great that products like this exist, in a way they also document a part of history.
My father was a video game nut. His first console was a RCA Studio II, then a 2600, 5200, 7800, Intellivision, Colecovision & Colecovision Adam, Turbo Duo. I inherited all of it and they all still play great. Fast forward to now, and all those systems are now in a little box to play till you drop. My dad would have loved it. Thanks for posting :)
I bought it one week ago, is really amazing, unfortunately i have a mini pc that can't run higer emulator like switch, ps2 or ps3 but i configured retroarch on my xbox series x and all games run perfectly with its power. Is an absolute masterpiece to buy for every retrogamer enthusiast in my opinion. Really a dream.Enojy it.
@@TheChosenOneJared i think that it works, it has enough power in my opinion, you can check on youtube, there are many guides and tests for retroarch on series S and X
I've owned alot of the old school systems, and my favorite of all time is the PS3 with PS2 a close 2nd, still have a fat boy and he still runs. I had some good memories on Intellivision, the console that really blew me away back in the day was Coleco, it just had the best graphics of the time, Donkey Kong looked just like the arcade, very well made system, then they came out with the computer system and its too bad it didn't go over, I thought Colecovision would take out everybody. Another cool system was the Vetrex, I wish I still had that one. My dad bought us an Balley Midway, pong and gun fighter, everyone had Atari 2600's, NES and SNES, I skipped N64, had an Amiga, friend had a C64.
Thanks this great video review, a quicck question is the ssd spec okay? can it be cloned for backup purposes? My favourite gaming machine was the Amiga 500, I had read lots of magazines from its launch and the imagery had me hooked 'Gods' and 'Ghosts and Ghouls' are eaisily my favourite games of all time :D
Got the 4tb. It is tons of games. But even so, I even got many hacks. That doesn't make the NES library complete and so on. Missinng games there acctually because of hacks. That sucks. But I got more of PS2 and PS3 games then the 2tb so yeah, I dunno. It is up and down with the 4tb version. I am glad tho...only problem I don't got the time to sit and play at all. Still owning my NES that I got as a kid in the late 80's. Think I was 7 when I got it. Works like a charm still. :)
Most of these HDD emulators have duplicate titles which escalates the quantity of games. But the Retrostation PC4U doesn't look like the case here. I've been looking for something like this to put on a old PC. And I don't like the consoles with loaded emulators because they are not powerful enough to run a lot of the games. Thanks for the great video.
Have the bios settings been already tweaked(like resolution, aspect ratio, type of emulator..)? or was it all set to default (auto) and you have to tweak it?
Anyway great vide as always, and you are one of rarest on the internet....maybe almost only on or two other videos about this device...it's a shame because is a masterpiece for retrogamers. What next? Maybe retrostation GTX? :D
@@ChigzTech brother would you advice this over the ones they sell on ali express And is this compatible with the steam deck you think Do you also need internet connection to play these games ?
Favourite game console of all time was the snes, spent all my wages on games upto about max of £50 each at that time. Pulled cartridges out, placed all boxes up loft to keep mint. My biggest regret was years later when ran a market stall buying and selling games/consoles just so could play them, i sold the lot of my snes collection when short of money and saving for a bigger van, what a d**k head lol. Loft still full of broken pads and power supplies amoungst various other gaming stuff i hadn't sold or bought as a kid, going back to my woody atari i had when a child, another favorite console. Ive also got some old ping pong style consoles that seemed amazing at that time haha. Useless bits of info u might find interesting, a 16k ram pack for the zx81 cost my dad £160 or thereabouts, omg that seems it was insanely expensive these days 😂 Also I dont miss the 45 minute tape deck loads for c64 one bit, cant believe I'd sit there listening to the beeps etc for upto 1 hour and a half (when games didnt load and had to start again or iirc some required tape to be flipped to carry on) just to play 1 game 😮 Kids these days dont realise how lucky they are when complain about games taking a few secs to load up 😂
Is there any device just like this that can run these on tv also to contain all the systems that are in the video? And if yes can you give me a link of it?
we got this system, we have run in to some problems with some systems not responding to our controllers, specifically the wii, switch and daphine so far, the other systems we have tried seem to work fine with our controllers.
Make sure you connect the drive in a 3.0 port because I was having issues too with the controllers. Had mine connected in a 2.0 port didn't think it would really matter but when I connected drive into 3.0 port all my issues are gone.
thank you for working on this video. to be able to play this console it is absolutely necessary to connect each time by entering login and password? where was the email and password? thank you
It seems Retrostaion has been getting much btter than I have expected! This form is one of those exactly I needed. Is there any possibility of retrostation with micro sd card for android or ios portable devices?
Is there a particular mini pc, such as their retrostation pc, that can run this? I want the mini pc but no shipping to us. Looking for something powerful enough to run better then they offered, to run wii etc smoothly.
Does the login screen require an internet connection? And what site are you logging into? What happens in a couple of years when the maintainer goes out of business and that site no longer exists? Do you own a brick?
Can you make security copy incase the harddrive dies after 5 years? Or is it locked to the harddrive? Better get the console then and make copy of the sd card?
Adults who give their children the latest consoles, are missing a trick. Firstly the limits on old systems made designers really think hard about their games - making some real classics in the process. Secondly retro games systems will save them a ton of money - one PS5 game is near 70 quid - you could buy an entire PS3 with games, for that money. Thirdly, no online ability means they spend even less, and they can't get grew-med by some perv. Fourth, older games were easier to play.
Hi, thank you for the review. I'd like to see how does it work with an old average PC 🤔... Without an gaming GPU... That could be interesting. Greetings from Guadeloupe FWI😉👍🏼
Does this require Wi-Fi? As I have an old laptop, which I plan to use it as a standalone purely for this. Because I’m afraid, if it connects to Wi-Fi. Spyware or some malicious tracking software will be able to track my IP and PC
Would be cool if it didn't require Windows OS, so you could connect it with an Android Smart Projector like my Xiaomi Projector. - It would be the perfect compact gaming setup 👍🏼😃
Hello my friend scuse my english i'm from Paris France , so i bought the RetroStation GTX 1 To , can i delete games and can i erase some games and replace them and play with wii and switch games ?
Digital download version will be available soon, so you won’t have to worry about shipping to you. You will be able to instantly download the core & game systems you want.
Will this run on a MacBook Pro 2019 Intel UHD Graphics 630 1536 MB 2.6 GHz 6-Core Intel Core i7 16 GB 2667 MHz DDR4? I just bought a new 32in gaming monitor with 165hz refresh rate. Hoping this will work.
Hi Chigz tech I purchase the Retrostation 4TB hdd without controllers. I purchase a new Lenovo I7 12700 16GB memory RTX 3060 CPU. And purchase a wireless Xbox Windows controller. The problem with the controller is it will not work straight out of the box with the Retrostation and I had to map the buttons in configure controller and it work fine with the games but I can't exit the games sometime freeze with the controller. I notice your wireless controller work fine straight out of the box with the Retrostation without any mapping. Can you please give me the model and brand of that controller that you are using. Or do you have any suggestions on what to do? Or should I use a wired controller. I live in the US. Thanks Wayne
Update. I had the drive connected in a 2.0 port and I didn't think it matter and i decided to try connect into 3.0 port and all my issues are gone I can exit games.
Hello, I have an issue, a friend of mine bought the Retrostation PC 4 U HDD and when some games are fired up (well, the PS2 games), they don't load up cause it requires the Memory Card, what's the fix for that?, I will appreciate the answer
Good options here, I would take that GW4. Galaxy Watch 4 44mm ($159) - amzn.to/3qptUkg Galaxy Watch 3 45mm ($118) - amzn.to/36zpfoR Galaxy Active 2 44mm ($132) - amzn.to/36EEdtI
I have a wireless Xbox windows controller and I have issues. On Explosion of Fun website it says that Xbox controller works fine with no mapping. But I had problems and had to configure my Xbox controller in the Retrostation and now the controller recognizes the commands but I can not exit the games.
