8:59 I may be wrong, but I believe that is a Dogwood flower. In the Spring the Smokey Mountains look like a quilt of pink, white and light green because of the Dogwoods 🩷🤍💚😸 beautiful 💖

Waynesville, NC is a little gem of a town. Cute little tourist shops along Main St. Close enough to Asheville if you need a big city. Lucky to find a nice mountain town like Waynesville to plant roots in.

What a wonderful 👍 thing to do: resurrection of the historic archway sign! Back in the 1940s there was an archway at the state line of New Mexico on Route 66. That you Jenn for sharing Waynesville North Carolina’s awesome 👏 awesome archway!

I'm sharing this with my family - we lived in Waynesville before it even had a Walmart. I've done the big city life, and there's a lot to love about them, but I'm definitely a small town girl at heart. When the fall rolls around you've got to check out Barber's Orchard. They have the most amazing apple muffins and turnovers!

Cheering the new arch all the way from Arizona. What a fun event. My family came from North Carolina in the early 1800's to homestead Arizona, and I have a new found curiosity about North Carolina now. Beautiful ❤️ my family use to go to the Smokey's for Easter. I grew up in a small town LOVE IT and all that goes with country living. Thank you I can remember driving under those giant archways and the mountains.

So excited to see this Monday! I’ll be in town for a drs appt. Hubby and I moved to North Carolina in 2001 from East Tennessee. I’ve had the pleasure of living on both sides of the mountains. The mountains truly are magical. So glad you love the area.

I see The 276 sign in the background! If you follow it east, it will bring you towards Greenville S.C., and there’s a few special places along the way. Pretty Place Chapel, Caesar’s Head State Park. You will have to get Jacob to bring you back this way. Love The Arch! Love Waynesville! Get to visit on our way to Maggie Valley/Cherokee, and Tennessee Mountains. Hope you love The Carolina’s! We are not to far away, Greenville S.C., just right over the mountain! ⛰️ 😊

Wonderful heartfelt ceremony a Beautiful proud celebration A Very Lovely Gateway Arch😄 Dedicated to the Breathtakingly Beautiful Smokey Mountains. I can see why they wrote a Country song for the Smokey Mountains 🌲 🦝🌲🐻🌲 Niagara Falls has A Super arch Dedicated to our Italian Ancestors that migrated from Italy on a Boat to NYC then to the city of great Niagara Falls N.Y when the city was once safe place to live in due to the Mafia Patrolling the city there was a time when it was safe to leave your doors unlocked. Sadly That has long time changed. Our Arch reads(covered in grapes) 🍇 Little Italy🍇Pine Avenue🍇

I think that guy who was making his speech had it wrong when he mentioned that scene from Ghostbusters. They were at Spook Central when Peter Vankman said, "Hello, New York." This was before they were on top of the building when they fought the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man.

Maybe you are the only “dorks” who want the arch back seems like all the speakers said they didn’t remember it or didn’t care about it. 😉😆 They should have had Jacob as one of the speakers since he has a passion for roadside attractions & he is a youtube celebrity from Waynesville. 😊

Your glasses remind me of the receptionist at the library years ago, have you ever thought of round or rectangle, you just have a nice glow, the arch is nice. it would have been nice if they could have restored the original arch

Many years ago I was transferred to North Carolina. I called my company's head office before I arrived and the receptionist told me to "hodone jes a minute". I laughed and told my husband that, if I ever said hodone, we were moving. Two years later I heard myself say "hodone". We moved to Florida.😂

O Yes - we have a very strong southern mountain accent here - The lady who posted the video is just moved here - she’s not what we call local - she’s a transplant
